Summary: A Touching Remembrance
Review: A very touching remembrance of life at seventeen, told by fifty-seven- year-old Landon Carter. Son of a senator away from his family most of Landon's life, Landon lives in the shadow of his family wealth he knows was acquired by his grandfather at the expense of many of the citizens in his home town.

Landon is painfully aware that his own minister, Hegbert as he refers to him, was one of the people his grandfather duped during a time when Hegbert worked with Landon's grandfather. Although Landon believes Hegbert preaches "at him" in every "fire and brimstone" sermon he gives, Landon "unwillingly" becomes associated with his daughter, perceived as a strange, religious girl Landon describes as plain, ordinary, and the kind of young person every adult admires.

Through his participation in the Christmas play, written by Hegbert, Landon begins to see this girl, who is not like anyone he knows, from a different perspective. And, in the end, we understand how Landon's life changed forever when he was seventeen.

I've enjoyed getting to know Nicholas Sparks as an author, who has portrayed feelings of youth we can remember and thoughts about the past that only come with age and experience.

Summary: Almost predictable but sad journey
Review: This is a book you want to have it on your bookshelf when outside is raining buckets and you are lying under a blanket and you have several hours to waste. London Carter is first-person narrator of his life-love story when he was 17. He felt in love with a girl, minister daughter who seems to be extraordinary in ordinary sense. It is a novel of a differnce between rich everything-can-get kid and a humble girl with modest outfit and Bible at her side all the time. She's the girl he would never think that she would come across his mind nor even a heart. But she has. The story is developng slowly, sometimes it has pages you can easily skip as it seemst that they are there to fill the gap of making a proper middle-distance novel. I just found a lack of London's emotional involment into romance with Jamie. I missed something here, like the storyteller was not capable of bringing usuaslly exceptional emotional journey of a boy to your heart. But except that at the end of the book that story will make you sad and you will cry like a baby. It's pleasant read, but don't expect too much. Maybe it will remember you of opportunities you missed in your life which won't ever came back again.

Summary: An inspiring love story for all!
Review: A WALK TO REMEMBER is definitely a book that I will not soon forget. Nicholas Sparks does a wonderful job of reminding us all what love and life is really about. It takes place the typical small town of Beaufort, North Carolina. Told by a 40-year-old Landon Carter looking back on his senior year of high school. The last thing he expected was to fall in love, let alone with the minister's daughter, Jamie Sullivan. Jamie teaches Landon what is important in life and what love really is. This book reaches out to the reader and throws you for a roller coaster ride, but all the same it is heartwarming and inspiring. I recommend it for anyone with a sense of humor and a passion for love and life or anyone who has forggotten the meaning of life. It is without a doubt the best story I have ever read. Be prepared with a box of tissues and plenty of time, considering it is a book that you will not want to put down. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

Summary: A walk I hope I forget!
Review: This was my second attempt at a Nicholas Sparks novel. I really went into this one with an open mind after I completely detested the Notebook. Unfortunately this one was not any better. The dialogue is so unrealistic...people don't talk like that. There is nothing for descriptions and the story line is so predictable. Maybe Sparks is good for some people but his style is definately not something I enjoy reading.

Summary: A Sweet Book!
Review: I just finished A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, and I must say that it is a great book.I have read every book except the Rescue but so far the Notebook is the best. Ever since that book I have been a fan of Sparks. If an author can make me cry and capture my heart the way he does, he deserves my money. I haven't read a bad book from him. He takes you from Chapter 1 and keeps you captivated until the end! Trust me, take time to read his books they will change your life!

Summary: This man can write!!
Review: This is an excellent book with a surprising ending. I had no idea where the author planned to take me. If you have never read a book by Nicholas Sparks start with this one. The story is timeless and sweet. This book is worth every penny!

Summary: Another great love story
Review: After reading The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks quickly became one of my favorite authors. His non-traditional love stories are truely uplifting to read. To make a point, I don't even like love stories. Sparks' books, however, are on a totally different level.

This book is not quite as good as The Notebook but nevertheless more than worth reading. If you like a good heartwarming story, I would give my highest recommendation to any of Sparks' books.

Summary: Refreshing sweetness
Review: I loved Nicholas Sparks' A Walk To Remember. He's one of my favorite authors. I have read his previous work and this book is my favorite. I enjoyed seeing the world through the characters eyes although they are a jaded teenage guy's. The transformation and maturity is great to experience. I thought this was much more heartbreaking than even his other works. I've given several copies to friends and family to read. I hope Nicholas continues to write about young love and loss and redemption. I would love to see this as a movie too!

Summary: A Book You'll Remember
Review: Nicholas Sparks has proven yet again that he has the talent to reach the heart and reveal the beauty of the human spirit. I really enjoyed reading A WALK TO REMEMBER. It's difficult to review this book without wanting to giving away the entire plot. However, since I want you to experience the broad spectrum of emotions I did, I'll do just enough to whet your appetite. All too often humans have a tendency to judge people based on how they look on the outside. Many miss out on opportunities to really see a person for what they really are on the inside. The true beauty goes unnoticed and at times those who do not meet up to the "beauty standard" end up feeling "ugly" and depressed. Sparks does several things through the writing of this novel. He shows that inner beauty should be valued and if you are a victim of not being accepted, you should not change to fit in. See how he develops what starts out as a heckling and unnacceptance of a Reverend's daughter that eventually turns into something beautiful. It teaches the lesson that we should all put effort to see beyond a person's skin. I really like Nicholas Sparks' writing style. It is as though he is speaking right to you. Make yourself comfortable with your favorite drink and lots of KLEENEX and take into consideration that I didn't want to put the book down. From beginning to end it will shed light on what makes living a wonderful experience that should be treasured. A WALK TO REMEMBER will be A BOOK YOU'LL REMEMBER.

Summary: The best ever!
Review: When I first picked up this book I thought it was going to be like any other love story, but it caught my attention since the first paragraph. Sparks has a way of drawing you in, so many different emotions for one book. Makes you laugh and cry, yuo fell like skipping ahead to see what will happen, but then you don't want to miss a single word. It's a book everyone can relate to, even my macho boyfriend loved it. I just simply loved the eccitement, this is one of Sparks best books ever.
