Summary: Not a top literary pick, but a good quick read.
Review: One of the previous reviewers called this a "chick book". I would have to agree - and I am a "chick"! I wouldn't recommend this book to a guy (hate to say it, but true). I also wouldn't expect To Kill a Mockingbird...

The book is a quick read (I read it in about 6 hours). The reading is easy, somewhere along the Harry Potter books. It's a nice story about a small-town popular boy falling for the preacher's daughter. She's got a secret that we don't find out about until the end of the book (though, I have to say I had guessed her "secret" the first time Sparks mentions that the girl has a secret).

I think this would be a GREAT book for a teenager or someone in their young 20s - someone who is looking for answers. For me, it didn't evoke many strong emotions, but would have had I read it when I was in my 20s.

Summary: I will definitely remember
Review: Sparks never fails to amaze me with the stories he chooses to tell. I believe his books are unique and they always seem to linger with you for days and months. I can't ever seem to forget them. It is like they become a part of me. The stories, the characters, the lives & the lessons. I recommend any Sparks novel including this one. Where will he go next? I can't wait to find out.

Summary: An unexpected love
Review: This book was given to me. And I read it becasue I liked " Message in a Bottle". I casually picked up the book to read...and then was hooked. I could not put it down.

It is written in the first person, and is of a man revisting his past in High School 40 years ago. He was a popular boy worried about what his friends thought. His name was landon Carter, the year 1958 in the small town of Beaufort, N.C.

Landon falls for the shy, christian, bible carrying daughter of the town's baptist Minister. (Not the cool thing to do). Her name is Jamie, and she was to change his life forever.

This book is a must read. It will remind males what it was like to be 17 again, but it will the depths of the human heart.

Summary: A Book to Remember
Review: This book is the most amazing thing I've ever read in my life! It's such a touching story and it left me in tears. I think that A Walk to Remember is a book that some people may not be interested in though, especially kids. It's most definitely considered a love story and if you don't like those kinds of books then this might not be the one for you. It really did change my life comepletely for the better and I really want the world to read it. The books Nicholas Sparks writes are fairly easy to relate to and they are filled with so much emotion that you'd be surprised. It's a great book and I highly reccomend it to anyone. Please read it and enjoy!!

Summary: Perennial Love
Review: Jamie Sullivan was the daughter of the town's Baptist minister. Many of her classmates found her strange, but Jamie seemed content living in a world separate from the other kids. This innocent and caring person was the last girl any boy would ever think of falling in love with, especially Landon Carter.
Landon Carter wasn't exactly a trouble maker, but he wasn't the best kid in town either. His mother was a sweet lady and his father, Worth Carter, was the town's congressman for almost thirty years.
Jamie and Landon both lived in Beaufort, North Carolina. In 1958 their class had to perform the town's traditional Christmas play, The Christmas Angel, written by Reverend Hegebert Sullivan. It was about Tom Thorton who had lost his wife and had to raise a daughter on his own. One Christmas this beautiful angel comes along and helps Tom find the perfect present for his daughter. Jamie was the angel and Landon was Tom Thorton.
During rehersals Landon got teased by his friends about spending time with Jamie, but in the end he didn't care. Landon was helping make the play perfect for Reverend Sullivan. He wasn't in love with Jamie, that was a stupid idea. However, during the play Jamie looked beautiful. Her hair was down, and there was a touch of glitter and make-up. Right there on stage, Landon fell in love with her. A love that would last forever but is a complicated by Jamie's secret. An awful secret that shocked the town. Everyone wondered how this could happen to Jamie, sweet, kind, cherubic Jamie Sullivan.

Summary: Until the End
Review: This was the first book I read by Nicholas Sparks. I thought it was very good. I read it on the reccomendation of a friend. This is something that I probably not have picked up without the reccomendation. At first, I thought the story moved very slow. I was ready to quit reading but my friend encouraged me to continue reading. I am so glad that I did. I thought it was awesome! Once you get passed the first few chapters, the action really picks up and you just want to keep reading. You feel like someone watching Landon and Jamie and feeling with them. I was drawn in to continue. The end was heartbreaking. It was a marvelous story. I love the way Sparks builds and shapes his characters. I have picked up many other books by him as a result of reading this book.

Summary: Simple charms of love and miracles
Review: It was of pure chance I picked this book from the library - and this bittersweet romance charmed me off effortlessly with its simple storytelling. This book opens unabashedly with the character's confession, "First you will laugh - later you will cry." Nicholas Sparks draws the reader to the town of Beaufort and spins a yarn about Lancer Carter, who at the age of seventeen learns about the true love and miracles of God through his fateful encounter with the local minister's daughter Jamie Sullivan. He is intrigued by how gregarious and cheerful she remains, and together in a drama play - he learns of Jamie's down-to-earth character and how strong she is despite her tragedy.

Again Nicholas Sparks's poignant writing shines here - A Walk to Remember drips with nostalgia with a small town background and Lancer's revelation. It is tinged with a melancholy that is cloyingly tender and the final script presents a love that is ironically eternal yet so transient. It may not have the passionate intensity of Message in a Bottle and The Notebook but simplicity can sometimes be a charmer as in the case of A Walk to Remember.

Summary: Good but not his best
Review: A Walk to Remember was very quick & detailed up until the end. I was very disappointed with the ending. I felt like I had missed something in reading. The ending left me wondering more about what actually happened & I was confused by the whole thing.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Just like always!
Review: There is no way that this book, just like Sparks' other books would disappoint this reader in any way. The reader can tell of the tension between the two main characters and that there is a subtle hint of a budding love story, but what the reader cannot guess is the beautiful love story that is sure to not leave a dry eye in the house!
