Summary: If you haven't read this book, READ IT!
Review: When I first saw the movie, I wanted to watch it again and again. For Christmas I got "A Walk to Remember" DVD along with the book by Nicholas Sparks. (So far I've seen it nine times.) I read the book and it truly was the best book I've ever read. It inspires me, it taught me to apperciate life more, and not to take anything for granted. After reading "A Walk to Remember", I immediatley wanted to read all of Mr. Sparks books! I just love this one and it will be the one I tell my kids, grandkids, etc. I totally recommed this book to anyone!

Summary: FABULOUS! Definitely a great story!
Review: This story is marvelous! It's actually based on the author's sister's life. Part of it is about "not judging a book by its cover", only it's more touching! If you cry easily reading books, grab tissues. Sit back, relax and prepare to be heart-warmed, touched and enjoy the ride Nicholas Sparks takes you on. Totally worth it!

Summary: Inspiring!
Review: This sad and realistic tale of teenage love and Christian faith is a true classic. With the emotions of the characters, you'll transform and find yourself walking alongside the believable Landon and Jamie. This book is one that truely inspires the Christian soul, after reading it, I set it aside, dug out my Bible, and vowed to finish it.

Summary: a beautiful and touching love story
Review: I believe that there is a book that can touch someones soul and leave them feeling changed just by having read it. "A Walk to Remember" is that book. I recommend that everyone should read this book. I have read this book 3 times and everytime I read it it still gets to me and leaves me in tears. I once heard some one say that just because your done with a book doesn't mean that it's done with you. "A Walk to Remember" is a book that I guarantee you'll want to read more than once. If your looking for a beautiful love story you don't have to look any farther than this book. Highly recommend for someone who is a romantic at heart, and believes that there is that certain someone out there who was meant just for you.

Summary: It'll make you cry
Review: Yes, it WILL make you cry. A short & sweet love story, one that tv shows & movies are made of. Inspite of the traditional & predictability of it, it's a good book. The characters are likable as well.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Cheap!
Review: Ok... i thought that the story was written pretty well, hence the 2 stars. But the plot is literally ripped off from another story! The book is called LOVE STORY and it's basically the same concept:
1. Rich guy falls in love with not so wealthy girl
2. Girl only lives with father since there is no mother
3. Rich guy has a bad attitude in the beginning and a bad relationship with his father
4. Girl get sick and dies from the same disease that Jaimie Sullivan has!

The only difference is Jaimie and Landon are in high school, and the couple from LOVE STORY are in college.

Summary: Beautiful but sad...
Review: This book is beautifully written. While I was reading this book, I couldn't help but to cry. If you want something touching, you should read this one. You won't regret.

Summary: Sad, but not convincing
Review: This story is about how a young man's life is changed by his reluctant close-encounter with the class oddball who happens to be Southern Baptist girl.

I'd sure like to know where Nicholas Sparks got his information on how a Southern Baptist thinks and lives. The story would have been better if it weren't for some glaring inconsistencies with the Baptist theology and mindset.

First of all, the narrator tells us the Baptist minister in the story baptized babies. Baptists don't baptize babies. That is one of their PRIMARY theological distinctions.

Second of all, if the young lady in the story read her Bible as much as, and as often as, the story says she did, she would not have, under any circumstances, agreed to the narrator's plan at the end of the book. I cannot say further without giving away an essential part of the plot. Neither would her father have agreed to it.

Do you want to buy this book? It is sad. I heard that it was sad before I read it and determined not to cry, but I cried anyway.

I object to the foul language--again, this did not make sense in light of the Baptist connection to the narrator.

I enjoyed Mr. Sparks's ability to spin a story, but I did not like references to modern events, television shows, or currently popular celebrities. To me, these detract from the story rather than drawing readers in.

If the main character had just been a "nice" girl, rather than a Baptist girl, the story would have been much less offensive and the inherent mistakes could have been avoided.

Summary: Emotional story!
Review: I saw the movie first and I thought it was sad but the book made me cry too! It was really good! I wish I had read the book first b/c the story in the movie is a bit different. What a great story, even tho it's a bit "cheesy". Definetely worth reading if you want to cry! It will only take about 2 hours to read this book - so sit down and get started. You'll want to read it again, just so you can cry over it again.

Summary: Great Book. . .The movie was GREAT too!
Review: oK, I heard of Nicholas Sparksbefore but wasn't really motivated to go out and read any of his books. All of a sudden (in 2001) The movie for the resently published book was coming out. It looked like a great movie and I wanted to see it. Of course I wasn't going to see the movie without reading the book, so after I remembered themovie and book a few years later, I read and saw them, of course they were great.
Sparks does warn you from the beginning that it's gonna be happy then sad, so you kind of know what's going to happen but that doesn't ruin the story. Because of Landon's comical nature and Jaimie's gooh-heartedness you really get into and feel the story. It's beautifully written and this was one time in the story I wished that something improbable and magical could happen. This was definitely one of the best books I have ever read, and OH, i have read quite a few. The only reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was because of obvious plots in the story.READ THE BOOK!
