Rating: Summary: Stacy's love story to remember Review: A Walk to Remember was one the best books I have ever read. The book not only tells the story of a strong relationship, but also depicts a colorful picture of the trials tribulations every teenager faces. In this book Landon Carter falls in love with Jamie Sullivan, an innocent daughter of the preacher. Throughout the story Landon learns many lessons from Jamie. Yet the most important lesson he learned was to grow up. Landon was so concerned with what his peers thought that it caused a barrier between loving Jamie. Instead of getting in too much detail about the book, I would like to share how the book had an impact on me. First of all, I usually worry about what people say or think about me, but this book made me realize that if I do or act how people want me to, I will never be completely happy. Also, I always tend to take things or people I love for granted. I never sat around and thought about how important these things were to me. Nicholas Sparks makes it quite clear that people you love can be taken away from you at any given time with no warning. I also learned that sometimes things happen and you do not know why, but there is always a reason and a lesson to be learned form the experience. A Walk to Remember will open your eyes to world of a teenager as it really is. The reader will identify with the cruelty and hate that exists among us. All of the emotions that are described in the book will be shared with the reader. I a cannot remember a page when I was not laughing, smiling, or crying. The book shoves reality right in your face and shows that sometimes life just is not fair.
Rating: Summary: Rex's Review Review: A Walk to Remember is a book about a young man, Landon Carter, who, without knowing it, falls in love with the preacher's daughter. Jamie Sullivan, the preacher's daughter, is an unlikely match for Landon, but nonetheless a sweet likeable young lady. This is a classic love story, the boy (Landon) unwillingly falls in love with the girl (Jamie), the girl gets sick and his world seems as if it is falling apart. I felt Sparks' foreshadowing was a little overdone because I could predict what was going to happen throughout the entire novel. For some it was a tearjerker, as for me it was not. I liked the book and would recommend it to others, but I do not think I would ever want to read it again.
Rating: Summary: A Book You Will Always Remember Review: I started off reading this book with the reservation that it would be another sappy teen love story. I was wrong. This book delves into the conscience of Landons character, who is consciously selfish and somewhat shallow by nature but has a hidden depth to him that he doesnt show. Jamie is the catalyst between the boy he was and the great man he becomes. She opens him up to a world where beauty isnt seen in appearance but in heart. A love like this is something we should all experience once in our lives. Sparks goes beyond the human realm of physical and emotional love and illustrates the pure spirituality love has to offer us.
Rating: Summary: A Walk to Remember Review: A Walk to Remember was an outstanding book. Nicholas Spark did an excellent job describing his characters, which allows you to have a lasting image in your head of each person. The only part of the book I didn't like was how the author used the terms "by the way" and "if you know what I mean" so much. He should have limited these terms because obviously the reader already knows that he means what he says, or he would'nt have written it. Overall though, the book was excellent. The story was realistic, and extremely emotional. At times I laughed, and then I cried. Landon was my favorite character, because he wasn't ashamed to go for what he wanted, regardless of what his friends thought. If anything, his friends could have learned something from him. I recommend this book to everybody. It's very touching, and it will really make you stop and think about the things you take for granted.
Rating: Summary: A Walk remebered Review: I highly reccomned this book to those of you who like romantic tear jerkers. This book is about a guy who falls in love with a preachers daughter and then finds out that she has cancer and is going to die. With knowing this he decides to propose to her and they get married before she dies. This book is very good. It is one of those books that once you start reading it you do not want to put it down. I hate to read but I absoulutely loved this book. If you have not read this book I highly suggest that you go check it out at your local library or buy it.
Rating: Summary: A Walk To Remember=Good Book Review: A Walk to Remember was a great book. Everything was very detailed and specific. It was the kind of book that once I started reading it I could not bring myself to put it down. I liked the way they made two people from two different "cliques" come together even though people said they couldn't. Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter were great characters. It is a book that will make you laugh and then cry. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a funny, love story. Also, I recommend this to anyone who just likes to read fantastic books. I am considering reading "A Walk To Remember" again...that is how good it really was!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Walk to Remember Review: In this small town, Jamie was not known as one of the normal people. Her father was a preacher and she wore her hair in a bun, a brown shaw around her sholders, and she always carried a bible with her. She was very smart and the most caring person you'll ever meet. Landon was a boy that she went to school with and to church with, and he desperately needed a date to the prom. He knew that Jamie wouldn't have a date so he asks her. Landon and Jamie end up spending alot of time together with school, church, the play, and the orphanage that they fall in love, and he sees her like he never has seen her before. Towards the end of the book, he finds out the she has leukemia and ends up finding himself at peace with God. As they begin their wedding, Jamie struggles as she walks down the isle, but it was her moment to shine, it was her dream come true. The book kind of ends in a mystery. You really don't know what happens to her, but it was a great love story. I really liked it alot. It gave me a new outlook on the acceptance of others, ecspecially through God. It was a very moving story and I would gladly read it again!
Rating: Summary: A Remembered Review Review: A Walk to Remember was a really good book. It keeps your attention throughout the whole book. It is one you can not put down. It is about a young girl named Jamie that is very shy, quiet, and very kind, but is not one of the most liked kids at school and doesn't fit in too well. On the other hand there is a guy at school named Landon is one of the most popular and his friends think very little of Jamie until one day he has to ask her for help with school. Many things happen, but that is something you will have to find out for yourself. They go through many obstacles that are a little funny, strange, and also sad. It is a good book and I would recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A book you will remember Review: A walk to remember was one of the best books I have read. It shows that true love conquers all. At the beginning of the story, Landon is this trouble maker who is only looking out for himself. He wouldn't even give Jamie the time of day. Jamie is a good-hearted teenager who will help anyone and everyone. The two are obvisouly from two differnt worlds. Landon gets into trouble and is forced to do be in the Christmas play along with Jamie, who wants to be in the play. At first Landon does not want to do the play and he doesn't try. With Jamie's help, he gets his lines down and he actually enjoys it. Since they are spending so much time with each other, he starts to open up to her. While all of this is happening, Landon's feelings for Jamie are changing. He is starting to fall for her. Even though all of his friends don't agree with his new feelings for her, he still tells her how he feels. I don't want to give the rest of this book away, but I just want to say that love is worth taking a chance. This book will make you laugh, smile, and cry. It is a wonderful book about how falling in love can change everything. I have read it three times, and I am sure I will read it again. It is a story that will touch your heart and you will never forget.
Rating: Summary: I liked it Review: This was a compelling novel about a guy named landon and a girl named Jamie. It portrays how people can have life so easy, with out a care in the world and have it change in a matter of seconds. In the story Landon was the prepy type popular kid who begins to fall in love with the more quiet, unsocial preacher's daughter Jamie. She begins to show him that this is more to life than what people think. As the time passes, Landon falls in love with Jamie and would do anything under the son for her. When he finds out that she is dying of leukemia, his whole perspective of life changes. He realizes that nothing else matters but making all of her dreams come true before she dies. I believe this novel teaches its readers about the true meaning of life, which is not to take things for granted and no matter how well you think your life is going there will always be some one who has it worse, and you might not notice it until you find out it is some one whom you love. This was a great book, and I reccomend it to anyone who has a soft heart and a feel for the compassion it will bring into your life.
