I couldn't beleive that I cried at the end because I saw the movie first(also really really great). So well it's basically about a teen boy whole falls in love with the last person on the planet he figured he would ever fall in love with. By the end of the book he has really changed his view about life and really grows up.

Rating: Summary: heart warming Review: I work in a book store and I read whenever I can. A Walk To Remember was my first book by Nicholas Spark and it definitely pulls all chords of the heart. A sentimental and romantic love story , this novel makes one remember, that there are so many lovely ways to consider life as a precious gift and to make every effort to make it truly beautiful. Though the story at times has certain resemblance to Eric Segal's "Love Story", it is different and unique in its own way. A must read for all those who believe in the power of love.
Rating: Summary: simply great Review: this book is sooooooooooo good, i mean , i loved it, it made me cry, it made me smile...and it's really touching! READ IT
Rating: Summary: An all-time favorite Review: I first became interested in this book when i heard the movie was coming out. Im the kind of person who likes to read books before I see the movie. Therefor i started the book one afternoon and could not put it down. It told a story of a young Landon Carter who didnt care about grades or the future. Soon he stumbles across the unpopular Jamie Sullivan. Jamie teaches Landon alot about Friendship, Faith and even Love. Read this book but be ready with a box of tissues. When your done with the book... go ahead and rent the movie. Its a great story.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Review: Pro: - Authenticity. This book is based on the author's sister and brother-in-law. A true-life story sprinkled with fictional entertainment to capture the reader's interest. - Substance. The main character of the story values the inner beauty in life and for a teenager, is mature beyond her years. She has high moral values and influences another teenager into changing his ways after showing him the importance of living life with meaning. - Unique. While many books today require shock value of one sort or another to grasp the reader, this author captured the Best Sellers List without it.Con: - The story is set in 1958. A bit difficult to relate to the Leave It To Beaver verbiage "Her bad eye...sort of gave me the willies". -Sweet, but goofy to swallow at times. Overall: The best and most accurate stories are written from experience... and from the heart. This author does just that! Anyone interested in an easy read with substance will enjoy it. Amazon.com ratings scale: 4 stars = Recommended
Rating: Summary: a hopeless romantic's take on AWTR Review: Okay, so I've read more brilliant writing; but Sparks has weaved a classic love-tragedy story. I am a hopeless romantic, and I melt at this stuff. So obviously I couldn't put it down. I knew the ending reading it, but I hadn't seen the movie, which helped a lot. I still haven't seen it, but from reading descriptions of it, and seeing pictures, I can pretty accurately assume that they changed each and every detail- from the way Landon ends up in the school play to the color of Jamie's hair (no, it's not brown, folks). The book was a very simple yet heartfelt love story, and I enjoyed reading it.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully Sweet Review: Just so ya'll know where I'm coming from, I'm 16 and a strong Christian. I have to admit that I had never heard of Nicholas Sparks until I saw the preview for the movie "A Walk to Remember". After I saw the movie I had to read the book. In regards to the book, it's wonderful, very sweet and sad at the same time. I'll read it forever. Don't expect it to be like the movie, they had to tone down the Christianity for the movie and it is set in a different time. They are both wonderful in the same way but they are very different. This book is great from pre-teens to older people because everyone remembers their first innocent romance. Make sure that if you are even slightly prone to tears that you have a box of tissues near-by.
