Rating: Summary: A Walk To Remember Review: I love this book! I couldn't put the book down. I recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: An Amazing Love Story Review: Of all the love stories I have read, I have to acknowledge that this is the best one yet. It shows what love really is. That it is not about surrounding yourself with what you think is good for you, but about getting to know that one person that will touch you and change your life forever. That you should not live your life according to others, that you should live life according to you. That it is not about how much time you get to spend with the one you love, but how you use that time. While reading this book you will find yourself in love with these characters. Jaime, very innocent and pure. Landon, very strong, but yet weak. Two very different people that find themselves tangled in a web of love. With these two, you will not only learn what love really is, but what it can be.
Rating: Summary: Better than the movie.... Review: I thought the movie was good until I read the book...I thought it was horrible how people picked on Jamie even though she was the sweetest and kindest person. I love, love, love the book!
Rating: Summary: Cuddle up for a cozy read... Review: This is a charming little book you will want to cozy up with and devour in a single sitting. Goosebumps of humor and melancholy occur as you immerse yourself in this nostalgic essay. But, not to give anything away, three-quarters of the way through the "light bulb" goes off in your head and you'll find yourself detached from the finale as it goes through its predictable story-telling paces. Unfortunately, we have seen and read too many of this genre not to be jaded. Sparks, however, is a gifted storyteller with a wonderful ear for dialogue and a clever wit.
Rating: Summary: disgusting, revolting, and dumb Review: When I bought this book, it was so bad I decided to throw it away. I do not recommend anybody to read this book except who think that there is such a thing as magic. Nicholas Sparks, the author, has written other books that are good. But this is his worst. I would rather read picture books about Sesame street, than read this disgusting, revolting and dumb book.
Rating: Summary: I Didn't Want It To End Review: I purchased "A Walk To Remember" for my self by myself the day before the movie started playing. I couldn't wait till it was out on DVD. I love the way Sparks wrote it so much that I read each chapter twice, before moving to the next. Sparks' writing already touched me when I read the prologue the first time. I couldn't help but do, as his words there said: "This is my story; I promise to leave nothing out. First you will smile, and then you will cry don't say you haven't been warned." Landon and Jamie are so loveable only because Sparks created them. I could totally identify with them, especially Landon as the narrator. As the story goes on, I stop reading its not even 300 pages, and I've read more than half in a few hours. I want it to last longer. Then I read a chapter every week, just not to end as soon as it could. Jamie was the girl I wish I could be, the perfect friend. And Landon the perfect boyfriend, he's so romantic, he did anything for Jamie. They lived so much love, like in a lifetime. Everyone was in love with everyone, them with each other, and I with them. It's really sad it's all a fantasy. Espeacially for me since I am too much of a dreamer. Like everything in life it was good while it lasted. True love never dies. Read it, love it. It will take you where you've never been.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly good Review: It had been on my bookshelf for months but I didn't have the interest to read the book. I only read it when I learned that we were going to watch the movie starring Mandy Moore. Needless to say, the book was far better than the movie. The book was also better than what I expected. In fact, it's one of the best
Rating: Summary: Good Review: This was a good book not as good as the movie in my opinion but maybe it is because the movie is sappier and in a more modern light. I suggest this book though it is very touching and the begining could make you cry, if you know the ending.
Rating: Summary: Is there such a rating as 'zero' Review: I just wanted to ask, is there such a thing as zero stars rating, because if there is, that's what I'll like to give this book. Everybody kept telling me how wondeful and touching this book was, but when I read it... I was really disappointed because everybody, like EVERYBODY said it was really good, but I found it otherwise. For one, I found this book extrememly unrealistic. The chances of someone like Landon Carter liking Jamie is practically zero. For another, I found it weird that even someone like Landon would marry a dying girl. At they married when they were 17! That's just plain weird. Someone told me that Landon Carter says' if you know what I mean' too much in the book. I found that to be true, and also, Landon Carter said' by the way' and, 'Anyway' a little bit too much. I can't understand why the author left the reader in suspense at the end when he didn't reveal whether Jamie died or not. The end was sort of an enigma. But, as I said before, I didn't really like the book so I won't recommend it to anybody.
Rating: Summary: Words Cannot Describe how disgustingly bad this book is. Review: At first, I was told by a friend that this book was really good, but really sad. Over the summer, I read a couple of customer reviews and they were all saying how good and touching and moving this book was. So I decided to read it. I was on the verge of buying this book when I picked it up in the local library. And am I glad I saved my allowance by borrowing this book! I couldn't even finish reading it. It was 1) Extremely boring 2) uses the phrase ' if you know what I mean" too much. 3) Marrying at 17? Give me a break. 4) Unrealistic 5) Too cheesy and sappy 6) The author, Nicholas Sparks, wrote about his proposal in the acknowledgement page of the book. I really think that the story of his 'joyous' proposal didn't belong in the book. I would not recommend this book to anybody except for people who still believe that Barney is a real dinosaur( young girls who dream of becoming princesses). I guess the author was trying to sound like a seventeen-year-old by puting in stuff like' if you know what I mean', but instead, he made Landon Carter sound like a moron. If you must read the book, have it your way, but personally, I think it was not something I would ever want to read. In comparison to other books I've read this summer, this one would be my least favourite.
