Summary: Yes, it did make me smile, and it did make me cry...
Review: First I thought: Yeah, another remake of "Love Story" - but I was wrong. This is a hundred times better...
I was quite weary, and the book stood untouched on a shelf for a long time before I finally opened it. I was immediately enthralled... I loved the characters and got very attached to them. And as the story went on, I kept asking "Why, why why?" - I was truly grieving for Landon and Jamie.
This is a stunning romance with lots of messages for the heart and soul. If I could have given it 6 stars, I would have. Do read it, I beg you. But have a box of tissues ready.

Summary: Reviewing A Walk to Remember
Review: I liked the book A Walk to Remember. I thought the characters and events in the book were very realistic. Jamie was my favorite character because she was very confident in herself, kind, had a positive outlook on life, she always did what she knew was right even if it wasn't what the "popular" kids would do, and she effected the lives of many people. I liked this book because it talks a lot about faith and how two totally different people went against the odds and fell in love. The thing I disliked most about this book was its ending.

Summary: Promise u wont fall in love with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: The book "Walk to Remember" was a great book. There was alot on emotional and funny parts in this book. The setting was really confusing in the beginning because the main character Landon was forty years old and he was telling a story about his life when he was a senoir in high school. He was telling about how he and this girl first met in drama class and in and out of school activitys. These two restless young adults had alot in common , but they never found out until the first started talking to each other when Landon needed a date for homecoming. Landon tired asking his ex girlfriend, but she didnt want anythign to do with him. So Landon spent one whole night looking in the year book, and the next day at school he asked Jamie she wasnt so popular but Landon was despert to find someone to go with he didnt wanna serve people punch all night. Now one thing about homecoming was Landon had to meet Jamies father the precher of there church. After the dance they were in a drama play together.. And if u really like romantic books this is the one u should read because there are more thigns that happen but you have to read to find out.......... " promise u cant fall in love with me"

Summary: Sweet, But Not Too Sappy
Review: "A Walk to Remember," by Nicholas Sparks is a heart-warming novel about two young people who are completely different, but they convene with the help of faith and fell in love. Together they overcome the negative remarks made by the popular "in" crowd and enjoy a relationship built on the strong foundations of trust and religion. This beautifully written book by Sparks deserves a rating of 8 from a scale of 1-10. Though the plot is sad, it was not enough to leave me in tears. Landom promises the readers that the book will bring smiles and tears, "First you will smile, and then you will cry- don't say you haven't been warned..." If it had made me cry then maybe it would have been a solid 10 rating. Sparks simple created a young man who was all about reputation to a complete romantic. Overall, the chemistry and romance between Jamie and Landon is satisfying. I enjoyed the park where Landon recites a quote from the bible that begins with "Love is patient, love is kind..." That definitely describes the love that Jamie has given him. Sparks diction is old fashion. His language is simple. Landon's tone when he was 57 years old is reminiscent; while the tone of a 17 years old Landon is a hopeless romantic. If you liked "The Notebook" and "Message in a Bottle" then you'll like this book.

Summary: A Walk To Remember
Review: Simply one of the best books I have ever read. It is mainly about a boy and a girl who learn that apperance and popualrity isn't everything, and soon fall in love. Jamie was the preacher's daughter. Everyone in the little town they lived in knew her because of her hard work to be a kind person. She had never been in love, and didn't really get out much. He was a big sport in high school, but coming to homecoming he had no date. He was so desperate he looked at every girl's picture in the last years year book. He called all of them but they were all taken. He called all but one. This girl he didn't call was strange, her dad was the closest person to her. He remembered this girl from 5th grade, having done projects with her. He waited to call her until it was the last resort. They ended up going together, but there were nine words that changed his life. "Whatever you do, don't fall in love with me." Sounds simple, afetr all who could fall in love with Jamie. But after spending time with her and realizing what kind of person she really was it changed the way he was. I think he wouldn't have learned the things he did if it wasn't for Jamie.
The book takes you away into it's world, showing you what true love really is about. I know for me it was impossible to put it down after reading four or five pages.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: The title of the book is A Walk to Remember. The author is Nicholas Sparks. My opinion about the book is: the story is sweet ,lovely, and a truly unforgettable story,"a story that reminds us that in life each of us may find one great love, the kind that changes everything". On a scale form 1-10 I would rate the book with a 10, because it is an incomparable story, it is about how love canbreak frontiers, it is a wonderful love story. The evidence that I have about the book is "There was a time when the world was sweeter...when the women of Beafort, North Carolina, wore dresses, and the men donned hats...when something happened to a seventeen-year-old boy that would change his life forever."-Nicholas Sparks. One remark about the author's style and voice is the way the author imagine this story is incomparable, it is so realistic. He also said "First you will smile, and then you will cry-do not say you have not been warned." This can happen to anyone. If you liked "Message in A Bottle" or "The Notebook", you will like this book. Katherine Maranon.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: Preachy and predictable. This book is very religious and sends an over-simplified message of right and wrong. It separates the world into the righteous, religious types and the 'sinner' who see the light as soon as they give the "believers" a chance to reach to them. This is the type of message you take your kids to church for. They deserve better in literature.

Summary: Bittersweet
Review: Landon was an average boy in high school. Landon Carter was best friends with the most popular guy in school. He lived a good life, until one day in drama class he was picked as the lead in a school play. Landon never wanted to take the lead role but he had no choice. The nicest, sweetest girl in school, Jamie Sullivan, asked him to take part in the play...and although he did not know those features about her yet he chose to participate.
Jamie was not the normal, average girl. Jamie was special in many different ways. She was the daughter of the town's Baptist priest; she carried the bible around everywhere she went; she did not care about her outside appearance, she wore the same sweater everyday, wore her hair up everyday, she also helped everybody who needed help. Every month Jamie would go to an orphanage to help out, she would raise money for the children. These characteristics are what made Jamie stand out from all the rest of the children. One characteristic that stood out the most was that Jamie had been diagnosed with Leukemia, although nobody knew.
Jamie and Landon met while doing the play and they fell in love. Jamie finally told Landon, and the town about her illness. They had the sweetest love until, Jamie finally passed away. Before doing so Landon had proposed to her and they got married by her father. Landon loved her then and always will love her.
This book was a very romantic love story. One word to describe it would be "bittersweet". This novel was bittersweet because it was such a sweet love story but sometimes in the novel was bitter because it was so sad to see what happened to Jamie because she was the sweetest girl.

Summary: A Great Book
Review: A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks follows Landon Carter, a seventeen-year-old boy living in the quiet town of Beaufort, North Carolina in 1958. He is considered dangerous and rebellious although he is actually not. Jamie Sullivan is the daughter of Hegbert, a widowed Baptist minister. She is a "goody two shoes" who is often made fun of. She takes care of stray animals and spends time at a local orphanage.
In Landon's senior year of high school, he decides to take drama because it is an easy class. However, he does not know that the drama class is expected to put on the senior play, The Christmas Angel, written by Hegbert Sullivan. Jamie will undoubtedly play the female lead in the show, but Landon is unexpectedly asked to play the male lead. He reluctantly agrees although he knows his friends will taunt him.
Finally, opening night of the play comes and the play is a hit. When Jamie first comes out in her angel costume, he thinks, for the first time, that she is beautiful. On Christmas Eve, Landon goes to the orphanage with Jamie and falls in love with her. Then, on Christmas, he brings her to his house for dinner. The next day, he kisses her for the first time.
Jamie begins to feel unusually tired but Landon dismissed the thought that anything could be wrong. He soon learns that he is wrong and that Jamie has leukemia. With Jamie getting worse by the day, Landon finally realizes what he needs to do to help himself and Jamie. Now, he asks Hegbert, and with his permission, he asks Jamie to marry him. She accepts and has a walk to remember while walking down the aisle, arm in arm with her father. Landon realizes how much he cares for her and thinks about how unexpected is that he fell in love with her in the first place.
I would strongly recommend A Walk To Remember because it is a very sweet, romantic story, which has a bittersweet ending. I think that many people can appreciate the emotional aspect of the story, but I don't think that the average male reader would enjoy it as much. I enjoyed this story and I think that others will too.
