Summary: One of the most beautiful, bittersweet books I've ever read
Review: A friend recommended this book to me, and she was absolutely right. I did laugh at points, and as I got towards the end of the book, I couldn't stop crying. It's really kinda funny if you think about it. Me, a man who has seen and enjoyed some of the most horrific movies ever made; me, this tough but, I hope, kind guy; getting all weepy over a book. I even had to grab a dishtowel to wipe away my tears. As I was finishing this book for the first time, I even closed the door to the room I was in so that I wouldn't be disturbed. But it's one of the sweetest things I have ever read, and my heart aches for it. When you think about it, this is the essence of what it means to be human: The ability to love, and to be loved. The topics covered in this book were fairly simple, yet instead of being a weakness, that may be its greatest strength. I highly recommend this masterpiece to anyone.

Summary: How can man write like this?
Review: This is the first book I read by Sparks and I can't believe he wrote this book. A man who actually understands how a woman feels. I read this book in one day and cryed after chapter 12. I just could not put it down. I saw the movie and it was a big disappointment. Read the book and enjoy!!!

Summary: CUTE AND SAPPPY
Review: Aww this book was so cute and sweet you had to cry at the end. I read it before I saw the movie. The movie dissapointed me. It was cheesy and totally melodramatic. Then again, so was the book, but Sparks' AMAZING writing skills saved it from becoming another soap opera.

OK, OK, this book is your average soap, but it was just so much MORE than that. Sure- your basic popular juve delinquint boy falls in love with nerdy preacher's daughter who spends free time doing community service but she has DEEP DARK SECRET (plot ruiner here) she has leukemia!! I know it sounds corny but "A Walk to Remember" is so well-written that it gets away with it. If by the end of the book you don't feel tears welling up in your eyes, then GOD help you.

Yes, I read this before I saw the movie and it is SO much better. "A Walk to Remember" was set in the 50's and it just didn't all add up. (I mean seriously, they DID NOT have Missy Elliot back then) They changed a lot of stuff for the movie too.

Summary: great
Review: I had to make myself put this book down. I read it after seeing the movie, but the book is definatey better. I was reading it during testing at my old school last year and had to (& succeeded in) stopping myself from crying. It was a marvelous book, as are all of the Nicholas Sparks books I have read. My mother and I love him and his books. I totally reccommend this book to everyone. Even if you don't like reading (like one of my friends who read and loved it), you'll fall for Landon and long for the love he shows Jamie. You have to read this book. It's a must-have.

Summary: Different From the Movie
Review: Even though a lot of people have dismissed the movie version of this book as overly mushy and predictable, I must admit, I was really drawn into it. There were just so many sweet things Landon did for Jamie, it was enough to make me cry. You could say I developed an attachment to everything about A Walk To Remember.

Now about the book, it was pretty different from the movie, but it basically has the same gist. Still enough to make me cry. :)

Summary: Realistic, old-fashioned romance
Review: I read this book in one night! It's pretty short (200+ pages, but they're small and the print is big). After seeing the movie, which was disapointing, I wanted to read the book. The book is way better, especially since it takes place in 1957. The movie's main problem was in trying to set a 50's book in a 90's setting without updating critical aspects. The book is sweet, but not overly so. I think it helps that it's told from Landon's point-of-view. Also, Jamie and Landon spend so much time together before there relationship finally changes. It creates great tension. There's also so much detail in the relationships in Landon's friends and family that's missing in the movie. It makes the book much richer. Overall, it has several important messages and tells a touching and real story.

Summary: Wow, a great read!
Review: Oh my gosh, if you've seen the movie, you have to read this. Oh-and read it even if you haven't. But, beware, I sobbed my heart out at the end. It is REALLY well writen, which is why i got so emotional at the end. I read it in a few days, becuase I couldn't put it down.

Summary: Touching and thought-provoking,
Review: I have to admit I saw the movie before reading this book. I didn't expect to get much more out of the book, but once I began reading I knew that I was wrong. The book provides insight into the characters' thoughts and feelings in a way that the movie cannot, it is sure to pull at your heartstrings and leave a lasting impression.

Summary: Most Favorite Book
Review: I loved this book!... I thought for a girl my age this was the perfect book to take me away from the reality of boys and dating. It's nice to dream once in awhile. I love that I could love the characters; if I can't stand the characters then I won't enjoy the book. Even if the book wasn't completely possible it was a very enjoyable book that I could read about a thousand more times. I disagree with these reviews that say that this is just like another Harlequin romance novel because this book is so far from that. This book has class and sophistication. If you enjoy a sweet story of new and young love, read this book. I also recommend his other books (The Notebook, however, was my least favorite).

Summary: The best book I've ever read
Review: You would be heartless if you read this book and did not laugh and cry!!
