Summary: Not for the weak at heart....
Review: Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan were from two different sides of the world. Landon, needing a date for a dance asked Jamie, little did he know that he would fall in love with her. And fall in love he did. Jamie, though has a secret she must share with the man she loves back.
Nicholas Sparks was born on December 31, 1965 in Omaha, NE. He writes mostly love stories, after failing a couple of times at writing horror novels. After failing he had to do a couple of other jobs, but he didn't let his failure stop him from writing. He eventually teamed up with Billy Mills for the novel Wokini: A Lakota Journey to Happiness and Understanding. He didn't stop there though, the first book he wrote that got published was The Notebook, a best seller. His success continued with many other best sellers.
Normally when a movie is taken from a book people say they like the book better than the movie. With this book though it was different for me. True, the book was more descriptive and it did tell the real meaning of the book and brought out the theme, but after having watched the movie already too many times to count I just couldn't like the book more than the movie. Although I liked the book and I couldn't put it down I think I compared it too much to the movie and didn't like it as much. The book was good though. Jamie is the type of person who others would like to be around, always happy, willing to help, your all around good girl. She does also have the qualities that from first looking at her and seeing what she wears and looking at the Bible she always carries around with her everyone sees her as "strange." Landon, is your typical high school guy. His father feels the need for him to become student body president, so he gives it a try, almost reluctantly and he ends up winning. Along with being a typical high school guy he goes to his classes, does his presidential duties, and thinks that Jamie is strange. On the last page of the prologue the narrator, Landon, tells us "First you will smile, and then you will cry" and this is so true.

Summary: Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
Review: Title: A Walk to Remember
By: Nicholas Sparks

Period: 1

A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks is a story about how a popular guy, Landon Carter falls in love with a quiet girl named Jamie Sullivan. This book takes place in 1958. Landon is an outgoing teen and could careless about his future. Jamie, on the other hand is a shy and responsible girl. Landon's first impression of Jamie was that she was a goody-goody with no life. As he got to know her, he realized that she had more than a soft side and cared about other things than work. Jamie was a serious Christian. Landon, after spending lots of time with Jamie, falls in love with her. Jamie also falls in love with Landon. Soon, Jamie informs Landon that she is sick and is going to die soon.

I liked this book a lot because the way it flowed. Everything was so detailed. The story has a moral; don't judge a book by its cover. He did not care about people like Jamie Sullivan. He thought that Jamie was just a shy and quiet girl that was socially unpopular. "Who I saw in school was one thing; who I saw after school was completely different, and Jamie had never been on my social calendar." Turns out that she is more than that.

A Walk to Remember taught me to respect others and not to be mean to others just because of how they look or what rumors have been going on about that person; to treat others the way I want to be treated. A Walk to Remember can make the tears come out of your eyes. Although I didn't like that Jamie died in the end, it went along with the story. It flowed along and that's what makes A Walk to Remember so touching. You can never let go of this book. Jamie showed Landon that life has more meaning to it than he thought. "Jamie, who was destined to show him the depths of the human heart- and the joy of pain of living".

My favorite part in A Walk to Remember was when Jamie showed Landon the true meaning of life and when Landon stuck up for Jaime when she was made fun of by other people. I liked it when Jamie showed Landon what life really meant because before, Landon thought that everything in the world revolved around him and that only him and his friends mattered. Jamie changed that. I also liked the part where Landon stuck up for her because it showed that he actually learned something from Jaime and that he cared about. He didn't care what anybody else thought about him now. My least favorite part in this book was when Jaime pasts away. It didn't kill the story, but it just makes you feel so sad and she just seems like a real person, a person close to you, dead.

Summary: A miserable romance
Review: Nicholas sparks is one of the rising American propegators of Modern Romantic literature and has earned himself quite a name, as well as having several Novels turned into Highclass Hollywood motion pictures.

This is the only book I have read from him and to say the truth, Sparks has the literary potential of a three year old.
The Novel is is so shallow, cheap, and unformed that it is a wonder that it did not join those coloured romances you can buy
at the counter of every supermarket, where there is always a bare chested muscular man at the front page, passionately kissing a woman who gives the image she could have been the first playboy bunny of the 19ths century.

The characters are as undeveloped as egg yolk, and the only tender feeling we get is the satisfying emotion of reaching hte last page. The romance consists of an immature bratt, with the narrative power of Donald Duck, who can never go above communicating above "I am Tarzan you Jane" style, and his emotions for the girl, who seems more a Guru then a suffering emotional teenage girl, belong to the world of wishes, where the desperate Reader prays for the writer to finally have mercy and give up writing, like the Nomad prays for rain.

The usual clishee of Romance is used here in a way, which is abusive to all Human emotion, especially the one which makes us Human beings... love. If you want a good romance, in the same plot style, watch Titanic or read Gone with the wind. This deserves to collect dust on some lonely shelve, forever.

Summary: A Touching Story
Review: The book I have recently finished is called A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. This was a remarkable experience to have read a book with such a sweet plot and has drawn me inside the story. The characters Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter are such interesting individuals with unique qualities and characteristics. Although there is a movie about it, there are some different settings to it. I personally enjoyed the book more than the movie itself. The book clearly describes the true meaning of the title in a more detailed manner. There are different scenes that I really enjoyed and made it more worthwhile to me. In page 237, it says ¡°It was, I remembered thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make. In every way, a walk to remember.¡± These lines really express the title and the true depth of the meaning more than the movie, which did not include these details.
I think theme of this book is that miracles can happen. On the last page of the book, page 240, it reads ¡°I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen.¡± I thought this was a perfect way to end the nook that left you a sense of great happiness. I agree with it because the book really focuses on this theme in an ironic way. Although the book is fiction, I still believe this considering that the author expresses it in a way that it couldn¡¯t possibly have been written without experiencing it. I believe that miracles can happen because I have experienced this myself. Perhaps since I have encountered miracles that it touched me more deeply.
I would definitely recommend the book to others because it is such a heartwarming story that it is hard to pass on a book like this without reading it first. I would recommend this book because I believe it will touch others as it has to me. This book is filled with love and hope that you won't soon forget. It is a spiritual story and I recommend this to anyone willing to open their hearts to a lovely story of romance.

Summary: "A Walk to Remember" Review
Review: I was very excited for "A Walk to Remember" the movie to come out, but I always love when I read the book and then see the movie so that I can compare them to each other. I began the book on the day that I purchased it, and never put it down after that until I finished it. I loved the book because it seemed like a real story that could actually happen to someone. I loved how the author used specific details for feelings and described the setting so that the reader could feel like they were actually in the story. The characters in the book were mainly high school seniors and they seemed like real people who did activities that young readers could relate to. The ending was very sad and after I finished the book, I anticipated seeing the movie and expected to see something very well done. When I finally went to see the movie, I was disappointed. The movie wasn't as descriptive as the book and left out parts or emotions that I enjoyed in the book. I think that the actors in the movie did a good job to the best of their ability, but some of the scenes were filled with bad acting and cheesiness. It always turns out that the book is always better than the movie. I think that is because a book can allow the reader to imagine the characters any way they would like and interpret their emotions to any extent. In a movie, everything is laid out for the audience and you cannot change any aspect of the film. This book is definitely one of my favorite books and I feel like I can read the book again and again, and still enjoy every word.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks is about a boy named Landon Carter and a girl named Jamie Sullivan.Landon is a kind of preppy guy who one day finally gives a chance to the un-so-popular girl, named Jamie.Soon he falls in love with her.Jamie and Landon start dating and fall in love with each other, but soon Landon finds out she is very sick. There are lots of adventures when falling in love.Jamie is my favorite character because she is loving and a caring person and because she is so much in love with Landon.

I can relate to the charater, Jamie Sullivan, because she is soft, sweet, pretty, down to earth, and cares about everyone like me.I have been through some of the things that have happened to her in this story. For example to let go of the one you love, and try to not be scared of what's going to happen when you leave that person for good.

I love this book. My favorite part of this book was how you can change someone for the best to love, learn and grow together. My least favorite part was how Jamie has to go so soon and leave at part of the story where its going to be the best years of her life ever.I wouldn't change anything about the book.It grows with you and becomes a part of your life, as well.I definitely recommend this book to everyone. It will touch your heart. You have to read this book!!

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: I thought this was a great book. It made me laugh and it made me cry. It taught me a life long lesson. This book really relates to my life, not with Jamie having cancer but with seeing people for who they really are. I would suggest this book for anyone. From all the books I have ever read this would have to be my favorite. I have also seen the movie and that is my favorite movie, but i believe the book is much better, more in depth, and more powerful.
