Rating: Summary: As before, Nicholas Sparks has touched my heart Review: Nicholas Sparks truly writes to the reader. He is able to draw you into the story so much that you cannot put it down. I absolutely loved the book. I would like to hear from others how they interpreted the ending....
Rating: Summary: enjoyed it Review: I really enjoyed this book, great quick read.
Rating: Summary: An OK Book Review: I finished the book, but wasn't as pleased with it as I was the last two books by the author. .I had something missing to hold one's attenion. If you are looking for a novel thet you can't put down, I suggest you read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher.. .What a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties." Writer's Digest Associate & published author, Bill Greenleaf "I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a manuscript more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful."
Rating: Summary: The perfect story of how love changes us. Review: This is a story of a high school senior who meets a girl that will change who he is and the rest of his life. The setting is back in the 1950's when life was much more simple than now. Nicholas Sparks is a remarkable story teller. This love story certainly measures up to The Notebook and Message in a Bottle. Question: What is the miracle he is refering to in the last line of the book? Does he mean she lived? Anyone else wonder about that?
Rating: Summary: This is a wonderful story! Review: I fully enjoyed this book, I was prepared to be unhapppy with the ending! I was pleasantly surprised. I cried through half of the book and fully believe that the miracle at the end of the book was that she lived!! Great book much better than Message in a bottle, at she lived in this book. I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic.
Rating: Summary: Tugged at all the heartstrings, didn't want it to end! Review: Having read and loved Sparks'other books, I couldn't wait to get into this one. Really enjoyed the ways in which the author wove wit and sentimentality together. I fell in love with the main characters, and was left with the same question as some of your reviewers - Landon spoke of the "miracle" at the end of the book, making me wonder if he had spent his past 40 years with "Jamie" or with "memories of Jamie." Made me wonder - and I am STILL wondering. Does anyone have an idea?
Rating: Summary: Fascinating love story Review: Sparks somehow finds a way to outdo himself everytime he releases a new book. "A Walk to Remember" was an incredible story and I was unable to put it down.
Rating: Summary: "A Walk to Remember" Closes Another Chapter Review: Only with the writings of Nicholas Sparks do I sit and read for hours without getting up once until I have read the last word... This story was no exception to the two that came before. After reading this book, I came to a place in my life where I always thought I had been, but never really was. Learning to live, love and let go is one of the most difficult and riskiest steps to take in life. Always thinking that I was doing these things, and then reading this book made me realize I never was. I have closed chapters in my life that have been invisibly open for years, and I thank Mr. Sparks for helping me get there.
Rating: Summary: "Marvelous" Review: Nicholas Sparks leads us to the turning point in a young man's life and how he finds himself on the road to maturity no matter how many detours he tries to take. Abruptly faced with a truth beyond his years, he learns that bad things happen to good people. This book takes us on a journey to acceptance of situations that cannot be changed and how one person touches the lives of many, knowingly or not. It had a real life message that many reviewers seem to have missed, unfortunately. I found it to be a "marvelous" read with a seven tissue ending.
Rating: Summary: Corny, Unrealistic, and Utter Sap Review: I once again picked up Mr.Sparks latest book, in hopes of finding a refreshing change from the other novels on the market. I was very disappointed. Mr.Sparks plot was dull, lifeless, and totally unbelievable. I found that the characters were not too deep and lacked real emotions. The information provided barely skimmed the surface, and left me feeling untouched. The characters dialogue was corny and very unrealistic. No teenager I know has ever spoken like those characters, nor I have yet to find a constant Bible carrying 'Jamie' in the real world. The plot is is poorly written and is dull. The book moves along at a slow pace, then when it hits 20 pages from the ending...it starts to 'deepen.' Personally, it needed to 'deepen' from page one. Plus, it seems to me that Mr.Sparks third novel bares remarkable resemblance to his other two novels. I was hoping for a change, but found none in this novel. The plot was predictable and depressing to me...just utter sap. For someone looking to read a thorougly great romance, you may want to look elsewhere. For a pre-teen or teenager looking to read a depressing fairy tale...this is the book for you.
