Summary: Don't buy
Review: This is one of those rare cases where the movie is better than the book. I don't think Sparks did a good job of writing this one. The main character doesn't sound authentic. He sounds like an old guy trying to talk young. I don't think Sparks remembers his high school days very well. I like the story concept, but Sparks did not execute well. I recommend the movie, but not the book.

Summary: Great book
Review: This book is a good book that you won't want to put down. I actually saw the movie before I read the book but I'm glad I read it, In a way I liked it better than the movie.

Summary: A Book To Remember
Review: Having known Jamie Sullivan his whole life, Landon never saw her as anything more than the Reverend's daughter and a devout Christian who never left home without her Bible. Her father, always fun to joke about-practiclly asked for it, he was always preaching about 'the fornicators' in his sermons... Such was the way of things until Landon finds himself stuck in the postion of needing a favor from Jamie, and in the end returning one to her. The more he gets to know her, the more he grows up and realizes that despite his mostly good intentions, the only half-decent person he was just wasn't enough. Not only does Jamie teach Landon about sincerity and truth, she opens his eyes to the the many sides of love and the miracles that occur because of them.
In A WALK TO REMEMBER, Nicholas Sparks writes a pretty confident statement about his story: first it will make you laugh, and then cry. He couldn't have been more on the money. You have to admit a novel that can do both is quite a powerful one.

Summary: A masterpiece of a book!
Review: This book was amazing! it really taught you that even if you don't plan on falling in love, it will happen and you will be glad that you did. This book really makes you go on a rollercoaster of emotions. I don't usually cry unless the book is extremely heart touching. Mr. Sparks outdid himself when he wrote this book. All the different characters were perfectly put together in such a way that it was heart-wrenching. I HIGHLY reccommend this book if you enjoy romance and if you like to feel different emotions.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: I recently read this book for the third time. Each time is just as great as the one before. I want to start off by saying that it is very different from the movie. So, for those of you that think you already know everything that will happen, you should think again.
I picked this book up at the library after reading "The Notebook." I had enjoyed that, but never expected to be as touched as I was when I read "A Walk to Remember." You can read the summaries, so I don't want to waste your time with what it's about. But I would like to say that this book is one that you can cherish and re-read over and over again. I have never been so emotionally involved in a story before. Nicholas Sparks has a unique touch for romantic stories that pull on your heart.
This book reminds you of the innocence of first love, and the ability of it to change you forever.
Landon is my favorite fictional male character ever. If you're a female, you'll wish that you were his. As a male, you'll be able to get a few good hints on how to treat a lady! Jamie is another great character. She has such a beautiful soul, and you wish that she could stay protected forever. Their relationship is one that happens only once in a lifetime.
I recommend this book for anyone. It will make you smile and cry. It stays with you for a long time.

Summary: I cried for weeks!
Review: I cannot give this book justice! I cried for weeks after reading it, and also read it long before I saw the movie. I have to thank this book for alot of things. I wasn't a big time reader, but after reading this I fell in love with books. This book will make you laugh and go through about a hundred tissue boxes. I almost had to set it down because I was crying so hard!

Summary: A Walk To Remember
Review: This book is sooooo different from the movie! It's so different, that it almost seems like a completely different story. This book is even set in the 50s or 60s, but the movie was set in recent times because the producers wanted the viewers to connect on a more personal basis. While I enjoyed the movie better than the book, the book is still very good. So, I recommend it! :)

Summary: Tacky sentimental ...!!!!
Review: This is one of the worst books i've had the misfortune of reading. It is your run of the mill oprah book club type books where two totally incompatible people fall in love against the odds, and then one dies of cancer. Could it be any more predictable. A truly original ending would have had Jaime turn out to be a cyborg. Just because a book is on the New York Times Bestseller list doesn't mean its a great literary work. Get a clue you Lemmings! Go read Hamlet, Pride and Prejudice is a romance novel but at it was well written. For a great novel that has romance, passion and tragedy try Anna Karenina! I only gave this book one star because zero wasn't an option.

Summary: A Beautiful Walk
Review: "Landon, I'm dying." Who would ever want to hear those words from the person they love the most? In A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, Landon Carter, a 17 year old boy, has to hear those very words from the one he loves the most, Jamie Sullivan, a 17 year old girl, who is dying of leukemia.
The main character is Jamie Sullivan, who has been diagnosed with leukemia. She performs many wonderful deeds, such as helping at orphanages, tutoring kids after school, visiting hospitals and more. Keep in mind that she has been doing this for seven years, everyday, with no pay. You could almost call her a saint, because she does everything for the Lord. "Why was she picked to die?" you might ask.
Her boyfriend, Landon asks the same thing. She responds with the words, "I believe that God has a bigger plan for me. When he decides that it is my time to go, I believe God will be there, showing me how to help." It takes a strong person to say that in the face of death.
The story takes place in a small town, Beaufort, North Carolina in 1969 over about 7 months. Since Beaufort is such a small town, it is very hard for Landon to date Jamie in this setting. Why? Because Landon is the popular jock, and Jamie is the classified "nerd". Everybody would know if they were in love.
The plot in the book A Walk to Remember is a very beautiful story about first love and the beauty within. The story begins with Jamie and Landon, two extremely opposite characters. For some strange reason, they fall in love, but will their love hold through a life-threatening disease?
Personally I think this one of the best books I've ever read. It made me laugh, it made me cry, but above all, it made me grateful. It made me grateful for my good health and the life I live. Good books have that kind of effect on me, so this would probably be on my top 10 book list. Take this walk with Jamie, and find out how to appreciate life.
