Summary: Truth or Dairy: Crazy Dog, and an Even Crazier Vegan!
Review: "Truth or Dairy" is about Courtney, a high school senior who decides to swear off boys for a year when her long-term beau Dave decides to break things off when he goes to college. But that's kind of hard when The Tom, the school man-whore is hitting on her and Grant (like the lake) Superior wants to be friends.

This was a good first novel for new author Catherine Clark, but I didn't give it five stars because Courtney would just not let Dave go! So many times would she start moping, "Boo hoo, I need Dave back, I love him sooo much!" But other then that there were lots of funny parts.

Squirrely gives this: A- *Wark*

Summary: Very cute, cannot wait for the sequel...
Review: *Truth or Dairy*, Catherine Clark's first novel in this series, is another adorable teen diary so popular these days. If you are a fan of the Georgia Nicholson series by Louise Rennison, you'll find this novel not as laugh out loud funny but just as realistic and just as heartwarming. I cannot wait for the next diary!

Courtney, shocked by a break-up when her boyfriend goes off to college, pledges to stay away from dating any guys for an entire year. She chooses to focus on her studies, her friends, and maybe part-time job at the Truth or Dairy shop. Unfortunately, boys are around her at every turn, none of them her beloved ex. So she joins Student Council and hopes for the best.

This is a quick read appropriate for teens and adults. Enjoy!

Summary: Fun story for diary lovers
Review: Another diary that will remind readers of Bridget Jones's Diary, although the narrator of this one, high school senior Courtney Smith, is less obsessed with weight and finding a man (although her relationships with various men play a large part in the story). Just before senior year begins, Courtney's boyfriend Dave breaks up with her. He's leaving for college in a nearby town, and thinks they need the space. Like most of the other problems in the story, this is treated lightly and with humor, although Courtney expresses her frustration with Dave and vows not to date again that year. Her plan is foiled by Dave's friend, Grant, who is a senior like Courtney, and who makes his interest in her clear almost as soon as Dave leaves. In addition, Courtney wins the position of ASB vice-president alongside a notorious womanizer, Tom Delaney, and struggles with his attitude and treatment of girls. Other complexities in the story involve her best friend's secret romance, her mother's ongoing battle with the phone company, her effort to maintain vegetarianism, and her father's new marriage and step-grandchild. Many more serious novels would crumble under the weight of so many issues, but in Truth or Dairy they become a source of humor. As with Bridget Jones's life, Courtney's is full of goofy misadventures and misunderstandings, and the occasional slapstick situation, and she generally pulls through without much damage. The story doesn't have any profound insights into the human condition, and the light, almost immature voice might not appeal to more mature readers, but in general, the plot is compelling and the story fun, with an ending that leaves open the possibility of a sequel.

Summary: Hilarious and Realistic = One cool read
Review: Courtney Van Draagen Smith is the charming character of Catherine Clark's hilarious and awesome book Truth or Dairy. Her witty diary and opinions are what any teen (coming from one) can definitely realte to. Just as her long-time boyfriend Dave breaks up with her when he goes off to college, she pledges that she's going to take a year off from boys, but a boy-free year, as many of us will find is sometimes one of the most difficult things to acheive. Here is a hilarious book that is light, funny, and definitely worth putting down whatever your doing to read. This book can get dragging between major events--still worth every moment though. I'd most certainly buy it!...

Summary: One Of My Favorites
Review: Courtney Von Dragen Smith begins her journal the day her boyfriend breaks up with her, because he "thinks it will be to hard to have a relationship while he's at college". Courtney immdeiatley vows not to date any more boys for the school year, and completely concentrate on school, friends, and her job. But when a new guy comes into her life she has to make a decision. But which one will it be?

This was an excellent book. I think that a lot of teenage girls will be able to relate to Courtney Von Dragen Smith, and her hectic life.

Summary: Fun read for teens
Review: I found _Truth or Dairy_ to be a humorous, entertaining, realistic story. Catherine Clark is an extremely talented author and did an amazing job of bringing the character of Courtney to life through Courtney's own journal. Nearly all the characters and events in this book are very realistic, and the story moves at a perfect pace with a wonderful touch of humor. Unfortunately, the plot is very predictable and thus, the seemingly perfect ending is a little disappointing to the reader. However, this did not change my five-star rating and I highly recommend this book to teens and pre-teens!

Summary: Fun to read!
Review: I got this book just because it had a funny title, and it was better than I expected. Courtney V.D. Smith has her heart broken by her year long boyfriend ,Dave, right before senior year begins. This year proves interesting when she swears off boys, taking up student council instead. Still, she won't get over Dave, and a few of his friends, who happen to be boys, keep getting in the way. I felt like Courtney was almost a real person as I read her journal. This book is clever, and at some parts, laugh-out-loud funny. I enjoyed reading it and would reccommend it to girls ages 12+.

Summary: Am I the only person that sees how bad this book is?
Review: I heard that this was a great book, so I decided to buy it. What a mistake that was. It annoyed me so much, I couldn't even finish it, and that hardly ever happens to me. The main character is so shallow. So what if her boyfriend dumped her, just get over it! ... I don't see how any teenage girl could like this. This is my advice; save your brain cells(because they are unreplaceable, unlike boyfriends); DONT READ THIS!
