Summary: Excellent fantasy!
Review: I honestly did not expect much from this book. I never doubted it would be good, but I thought the plot would be hackneyed and predictable. Well, I was wrong. I just finished reading it. It's definitely a keeper and fans of fantasy will not be disappointed.

Summary: one of the best fantasy books
Review: I love reading fantasy books and I read this a few years ago, but still it sticks in my mind as one of the better books I have read. I can still recall the exact place and time I read it. Torina is a strong young woman, and as the story progresses, she becomes more so. And the plot is thrilling, with one (meaning one bigger than the others) great act of heroism.

Summary: This is a great book
Review: I absolutely loved this book! It was amazingly interesting and it kept my attention throughout the whole book. Althought I was sad when Torina lost her lively spirit I found I could in a way relate to her more when she was calm and didn't want to have anything to do with the world around her. (not that i'm like that!) I love the main character, Torina's, personality even when she changes it. I love how the author changes the personality of Torina halfway through the book. It gives the book a great twist. Now for about the book:

Torina is a young princess when her father brings her home a special crystal that lets her see into the future. Torina's first vision is a horrible one and there is no way she can stop it from happening. But the second time a horrible vision comes to her she can save the victim, Landen who is taken from his home when Torina's father invades his country. Landen and Torina become good friends and have secret meetings until the time when Torina is twelve and she has been told she cannot see Landen anymore. Landen dreams of Torina, and though Torina never forgets Landen she does not make an effort to see him often, Torina has had other thoughts on her mind. She wishes to marry her fathers advisor, Vesputo. Thought Vesputo comes across as a kind man, Torina does not know what she is getting herself into.

Summary: A great story of adventure!
Review: This book is about Princess Torina, whose father (King Kareed of Archeld) defeated the peaceful land of Bellandra, home of the fabled powerful Sword of Bellandra. When he returns from his conquest, Torina's father brings a crystal in which Torina can see things that will happen (she realizes she is a Seer), and he also brings the son of Bellandra's defeated king to be a slave for Torina. However, Torina frees Landen immediately and becomes his friend. Then, trouble starts. King Kareed's right-hand man stirs up trouble because of his hunger for the Sword and power, bringing harm to the royal family and threatening the kingdom of Archeld. Landon, accused of having caused the trouble, flees. Torina and Landen must join together to save the kingdom of Archeld and rid it of this evil man (I don't want to give away who it is). I definitely recommend buying this book, because it is full of adventure and it has some romance too.

Summary: One of the best young adult books written so far
Review:

Victoria Hanley's book The seer and Sword is probably one of the better books, I've read in the teen catagory and that's saying something. For all of the generic dramafied teenage novels and stories out now, this book is much needed libberation despite its fanstasy catagory. The plot is original and it has enough spark and personality to call itself just that. The story is well written and expands between two points of view, a young free spirited princess of Archeld and a Exiled prince of Bellandra (who beside the princess has to be one of the best male characters in this story).

Trouble brews within the wall of Archeld when the King, Kareed returns from his latest conqest over the peace-oritented Kingdom Bellandra, Kareed rewards his daughter Torina with not one but two gifts from the conqured land; a cystal orb given to him by a seer and a slave boy (once a prince of Bellandra) named Landen. Being the caring being she is Torina frees him from his current occupation. The first gift Torina was given, the cystal orb somehow or another awakens a dorment gift inside the free-spirted girl: the power to see into the future. Torina is haunted by many disturbing visions the orbs given her and leans on Landen for comfort. But all of that changes the older they get.

Landen, still devistated by the fall of his kingdom join's King Kareed's army to learn how to fight with a sword and perhaps avenge his father's death by Killing Kareed himself. However, as time passes by, he becomes close friends with the King's daughter Torina and finds himself reeavaulating his life. Then one day Torina sees a vision of King Karred being murdered by one of his most trusted comrades who seeks to steal his throne and daughter away from him, but Torina has other plans and tries to stop this terribe fate from ever coming to pass. The story after gets tangled in complexties of the characters. I recoommend this book to anyone who is in need of a good adventure outside of the walls books focusing on the turmoil of the present day.-----[ a 5 out of 5]

Summary: An Amazing Read
Review: So many things came to my mind after reading this book. The story was so unpredictable and enchanting without using so much magic hocus pocus in it (except for the future sightings). The 'real' magic is lied within yourself for as long as you live, you can do anything if you put all your strength and thought in your effort. A real fantasy one.

The story was started from the invasion of King Kareed of Archeld into Bellandra which was caused by Kareed's ambition to break the legend that Bellandra, being the owner of the magical sword, Sword of Bellandra, was invicible to its enemy. It turned out to be useless in the hand of its ignorant king, King Veldon of Bellandra. In the aftermath, Prince Landen of Bellandra, was captured, intended to be Princess Torina's slave. But she freed and befriended him. The relationship came to the test when the ambitious Vesputo worked his way to gain the crown by lies, trickeries and betrayals.

The narative was easy to follow (and imagine) and there are so many beautiful proverbs, lines that gave me thoughts such as 'the moment is vast' which I gathered that though in a moment (some say less than a second), there are so many things can happen so you must treasure every moment. My favorite line (not exactly the same) 'Emid would have no other best warrior student than a prince reared in peace' . Got the beautifully lined irony?

I just hope I can get my hands on The Healer's Keep soon!
Please read it and be enriched by its beauty.

Summary: The Seer and The Sword
Review: Victoria Hanley has out done her self with The Seer and The Stone this book is literally flawless. The story of the young Princess Torina who has given Prince Labnden of Bellandra as a slave by her father "King Kareed" after his conquest of lindens father the kin of Bellandra. The story line starts when there still young the Prince at twelve and the Princess at 9 and the story progresses through ten years of there life.
The story line, twist and turns in unpredictable ways and makes you want to keep reading to the end. The character discretions are detailed enough that you can envision the characters but not get swarmed by details. This book will keep you reading tell the and depending on your reading speed you will be compelled to finish it all at once. Over all once you start reading you will have problems putting it down and will be sad when it's all over. This book is a must read for fantasy fans but any one can enjoy it.

Summary: Enchanting............................unlike any other
Review: This magnificent book is about a young princess, Torina. Her father, the king, overthrows a peaceful kingdom, killing its king and capturing its prince. The prince is given as a slave to Torina, who immediately releases him. The two become friends (and maybe more than friends later on, hee hee) There's also somewhat of a story inside a story. See, Torina finds out she's a seer. Just to make this plot even more exciting, they throw in the fact that Torina's kingdom has acquired a magical and very interesting sword. Well I don't want to tell you the whole story...READ THE BOOK!

Within ten pages I was hooked, and simply could not put it down. I finished it in a day. I really don't have any negative things to say about this book. This is is one of my favorite books, and you should read it NOW. Who cares if you're in the middle of a book right now? PICK IT UP FROM A BOOKSTORE OR LIBRARY IMMEDIATELY. What are you doing still reading this review??? Go along now, you're seriously going to regret it if you don't....

Summary: You MUST read it
Review: The seer and the sword is one of the best books I have EVER read. It is about a girl called Tornia who was growing up "selfish, superior, spoiled", but learns the value of love. Landen was capured by her father from the peaceful country of Bellandra, and was given to Tornia only to be set free by her again. They later develop a lasting friendship but then Tornia is taken away to be groomed to be a king's wife. Landen and Tornia's friendship grows weaker when Vesputo, Torina's father's most trusted right hand man turns against them and murders King Kareed (Tornia's father). Vesputo only wants the crown so stages Tornia's death and gets the crown while she left her land as a fugitive. Later on there is a fight, a band of thieves become loyal, the desan games, and a lawful king. You MUST read this book.
