Summary: What a book!
Review: Under the Blood Red Sun

I give ''Under the Blood Red Sun'' five out of five stars. I give it that because it showed me how bad things really can be. It also showed me how real and bad that war really is. It definitely deserved five stars. I liked ''Under the Blood Red Sun a lot. I liked it because for one, it was very historically accurate. It didn't really leave out too many details so I fully understood the book. It always kept me to where I wanted to read the next page and never put the book down. It also told me a lot of information on World War II. ''Under the Blood Red Sun'' is very similar to most any book about prejudice that is put on a type of people because of their race. It is similar to books about kids during World War II. This book is one of the best novels I have read on World War II, mainly because it was so historically accurate. I recommend ''Under the Blood Red Sun to any one who likes history, especially people who like World War II. I think that most any one will appreciate and enjoy this book for the suffering that this Japanese family goes through during this book, and will also appreciate all of the action that is in this book. This book is definitely worth reading.

Summary: under the blood red sun
Review: Under the Blood Red Sun is a great book. It is pretty historcially accurate, but also fun and exciting. Not like a history book. The main character is Tomi, a young Japanese boy. The setting is Honolulu, a town in one of the Hawaiian island, when Pearl Harbor is being bombed by the Japanese. Since Tomi and his family are japanese, people start to get uneasy around them, and try to stay away. Many changes happen in Tomi throughout this book. I recommend this book to all readers. While bombing and war stuff are in this book it is still a great book.

Summary: FANTASTIC
Review: This book was the best WWII book I have ever read that seriously relates to Hawaii... I think Graham Salisbury's works are good because they are deep and emotional especially this one!!! This is a GREAT book! Read Blue Skin of the Sea too! VERY GOOD!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A nonfiction book that tells the past
Review: I thought it was great! Once I was trying to find something to read, the book flashed before my very eyes. The title itself meant action from the word blood. The book cover made me feel like I was in there. Turning around, I saw the burning flames rushing up miles away. The aircraft's bailing out as soon as possible. I won't spit the words out because I will spoil to the people that want to read it. But it is about a boy that tries to care of his family because of the arresting of the Japanese. He also faces conflicts and problems that he has to face, the rivals. He also tries to help his companions The Rats. The only reason the Japanese are arrested is because the Pearl Harbor tragedy. This is what I call a five star.

Summary: A great book to read
Review: Under the Blood Red Sun gives the reader the chance to see how the war affected people who were Japanese-American. You get to experience through the characters how they felt an what they had to go through during this hard time.

Salisbury creates believable characters who you can sympathize an hate. You are taken into the story and can feel for Tomi and his family. I think it is an excellent book that lets reader see the other side and how the Japanese-Americans were treated during W.W.II.

Summary: a way to see it on how the japanese lived during the war
Review: This book was very good and it shows how the japanese felt during the WW2. The Japanese family had to live not able to represent there home. This must be the first book that realy shows how the japanese felt during the war. Out of most of the WW2 stories they just right things down in the but this had true facts about the fights in the war. The book also has drama parts which gave it more excitement. well in other words this book was very intresting and had a very good story.

Summary: Cool book, you should read it!!!
Review: Hi.I am 13 years old and live in Tallahassee, FL. The reason I liked this book and am writing about it is because I think everyone should learn about the struggles and hard times in WWII. I thought that it would be like most of the other books[BORING].But this one had the right stuff to catch a person's attention. That's what it did to me.The best part about this book is the part when Tomi got his grandpa's Samuria sword that had ben passed down from generation to generation. And I liked how the author[Graham Salsbury] describes how Tomi is really brave to stand up to one of his ex friends,Keet. The thought of the war stayed in my mind till I started to read the book again. I really wanted to see what happens to Tomi and his family in the story,if they die or live to see the next day. What do you think when you look back on books or movies and saw how hard it was to live with war, hate, and death of loved ones and friends? What does that tell you about the tough times that were put up with by those poor poor people? So next time you see a book like this then remember that if you hate the book then at least read a little bit for the author and for the people who died and who were injured badly because remember, it could have been you.

Summary: The best book a person can read, both young and old!
Review: I love this book because it takes place in Hawaii, where I live, and mainly because it is very moving in a subtle way.

Summary: A great book...everyone should read this book.
Review: I'm 11 years old. When I began to read this book, I thought"Oh, boring-all this is is a story about baseball and Tomi's friends. I want to read about history." I put it down and never really gave it a second thought. Then, at least four months later, when I had nothing to read, I decided to give this book a chance, so I started reading it again. I was amazed that I had not liked the book. Either my reading habits had changed or I had become more appreciative of books, because I enjoyed the whole book. I saw the historical part, and I even enjoyed the baseball parts. This is a wonderful book about a Japanese-American boy living during the outbreak of war, and how he sustainse his hope.

Summary: Story of a 12-year-old boy coping with the outbreak of war.
Review: I gave this book only a four-star rating because I would have liked to read more about the combat action. The book also did not say anything about where Tomikazu's father and grandfather went. I think the book would have been understood more if that part had been added. What's good about the book is the way it gives a boy's point of view of the fear and prejudice that can develop during wartime.
