Review: MATT IS A SUCKER FOR SAPPINESS. DAMON ON THE OTHER HAND........ THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN INTERESTING. DAMON AND BONNIE? FINALLY, DAMON DOESN'T ACT LIKE THE BAD GUY! ANWAY THIS BOOK WAS TOO COOL. BUT I HAVEN'T READ ONE YET, SO I CAN'T REALLY SAY THAT 3 WAS THE BEST EITHER. BUT ANYWAY, THEIR REALLY SHOULD BE A FIVE BECAUSEE I HATE LOOSE ENDS!!!! WHAT HAPPENS TO DAMON? DO ELENA AND STEPHAN ANNOUNCE THEIR BACK OR WHAT? DO THEY FLEE THE TOWN? DOES DAMON FINALLY ACT LIKE HIS TRUE SELF? IS MATT FINALLY OVER ELENA? ARE BONNIE AND DAMON GIONG TO GO TOGETHER? AND WHAT ABOUT HOW THOSE TWO P.S.'S (POPULARITY SNOBS) WERE ACTING? ARE THEY CHANGED FOR GOOD? IS THE TOWN EVER GOING TO ACCEPT S&E? IF YOU READ THIS L.J., I LOVE THIS SERIES AND WAS REALLY DISSAPOINTED THAT IT ENDED WITH ALL THESE LOOSE ENDS. PLEASE WRITE A FIVE!!!!! p.s. THIS IS THE AUTHOR TO READ.

Summary: This series was gripping
Review: L.J Smith has the amazing talent of writing about the fight between good and evil without being too preachy or bland. I cannot begin to count the number of times I have read this series, I know it has been a couple of times a year, at least*sheepish grin*. I could have lived with the first ending in The Fury, but i can understand the reasons for the last book. Besides, I think after all everyone did for the town they deserve to be happy. This was the first I ever read by LJ Smith and it catapulted her to the top of my Favorite Author's list!

Review: Damon isn't as bad as he always seems. i have said that ever since i found book #2 ( that's how i got hooked) but, anyway , if you don't read this book you will regret it. i personally try to read every book that catches my eye and this is difinately one of the better authors. -A.J. Alex

Summary: A Great Exciting Chapter
Review: This book was really good, but not my favorite. Book 2 was because Elena was trying to hide the vampire stuff and trying to cope with Damon. This was really good though because everything lead to each other. There weren't just random things here and their but they all lead to the one main point-Klaus. He was creepy and you didn't suspect a thing! You never even contemplated that it could be him! I have read all these books many time, occasionally in one day! They keep you on the edge of your seat, ever though you pretty much know that everything will turn out ok. I really think, though, that she should write a continuation to this book. How exactly do you expect Elena do be accepted back in, just come and be like, "hi!" i don' think so! And Damon . . . if you could ever think that a book character was just so hot it is him!! Damon needs to get over Elena and get a girlfriend!! Like, I would just love to see what would happen with him!! In the end, I kinda felt like Bonnie and Matt got together. I don't know if you were supposed to think that, but i did. But but but but but!!! i don't get how they all are like, "oh, caroline, you are really a nice person, i forgive you for being such a you know what!" really, though, i am glad that they did forgive her, i cried at the end!! I really really really really liked all these books!! Alot!! I recommend them to everyone!!! And if L.J. Smith reads these, i just want to say WRITE A 5Th!!!!!!!! i really really want it. maybe kattherine's maid could come back for revenge on Damon and Stefan and a new vampire could come into town, cause he knows there is a power here and he feels it, and he can know Damon from long ago when they stole people's money and drank their blood . . . just an idea!! thanx for listening!! feel free to e-mail me!! I know that L.J. Smith is still writing cause a new book of her's just came out in 1997 i guess a few months ago, and it was also about vampires, but we NEED A 5TH book!!! Nora Shimmel

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I loved this book! The funny thing is... for the longest time I thought Stefan lost Elena for good. The first copy I ever got on this had the last chapter missing! Oh how I cried. Then I reread another copy and BEHOLD!- Elena LIVES! I was so thrilled!

Summary: If you loved the first 3, this is a must.
Review:

Having read and loved the first three books, I was delighted to discover that LJ Smith had written a fourth. After a great deal of trouble obtaining it (I live in England, and it was, for some reason, never released for publication over here), I read it the same night I bought it. I guess that my expectations were a little high after the long wait, so I was a little disappointed with it. But only a little.

The characterisation and story were top notch, although it didn't seem as "real" as the first three. One feels the threat of an original vampire should have been infinitely more dangerous and terrifying than the threat of Katherine, but it seems that this is not the case. Where Stefan and Damon had been pretty much at a loss at what to do against their old love, they now seem to be cool, collected and know what to do against this greater adversary.

I wasn't entirely surprised by the ending. After all, the build up of Stefan's dependance on the heroine and his love for her throughout the book tells us if he doesn't get her back sometime soon, even his promise to her isn't going to keep him on Earth. I personally feel that Smith should have let Elena go on to the next life, saying a final goodbye to Stefan and leaving him to eventually get over her. Her "re-birth", especially as a human, tends to spoil the rest of the book a little. Given the author's reluctance in other books (notably her "Nightworld" series) to turn her heroines into vampires, one wonders how the whole Stefan/Elena relationship will turn out in the end. Will she grow old and die? Will Stefan turn her no matter her wishes?

Smith also made the point of expressing the relationship of the brothers, Stefan and Damon, and their growing trust for one-another. This I felt was good. The reader finds it fitting that the brothers honour their promise to Elena, and become the brothers they should have been in life. However, this is also spoiled by the ending. Why, after such a display of love and concern for his brother, did Damon abruptly leave after the reunion of Stefan and Elena, even refusing their offer to join them?

This reader also didn't like the fact that everyone forgave Caroline. After what she did in "The Struggle" (book 2), I'd've let her be eaten instead of risking my neck to save her. But then Stefan is a romantic, honourable and chivalrous young vampire. That's why we all love him.

Despite the nit-picking, I still enjoyed the book immensely, and can highly recommend all LJ Smith's books (in particular, the previously mentioned "Nightworld" series). For those, like me, that wanted more than the first three, then go get this book now. If you weren't that enamoured with them, then don't bother with this one.

Summary: A very romantic story
Review: I thought this book was very romantic, and although it wasn't really the same without Elena even as a spirit. But despite all that, I still think it is a GREAT book, and I reccomend it so much to anyone who likes mystery, horror, and romance. Even my 11-year-old sister is reading it, and I finished all 4 books in three days. I hope you all can read it and see the wonderful works of L. J. Smith

Summary: I guess I liked it altogether.
Review: Poor Elena. She's dead but her spirit is still near. Bonnie, Meredith, Caroline, Sue, and Vickie fool around with a Ojuia board and get Elena to speak from the dead. Somebody dies that night and everybody in the town aren't taking chances anymore. Caroline runs away, spooked because it all happened in her own house. They (Meredith, Bonnie, Matt) call Stefan back from (I forget) and that also brings Damon with him. Everybody, especially Bonnie, keeps their eye on him. Buy this book, even though it's not as good as the other three

Summary: GOOD BUT NOT GREAT
Review: THIS BOOK WASNT AS GOOD AS BOOK 3 AND IT DIDNT CATCH MY THOUGHTS THE WAY HER BOOKS USUALLY DO IT WAS PRETTY GROSS AT THE ENDING TOO OVER ALL IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD BOOK JUST NOT THE BES

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wondrefully put together book.
Review: The passion between Elena and Stefan is so strong not even death could keep them apart. This heart warming story of sorrow from Elena's death is very touching. With Elena gone Bonnie, Meredith, Stefan, Damon, and Matt must struggle and defeat with a power much greater then theirs in order to save their lives and the lives of the whole town. This power is ALMOST undefeatable but with the help of one of the powers victim's knowledge, victory can be theirs. This story is truley unforgettable
