Rating: Summary: The black book: diary or a teenage stud, vol. 1 Review: it was soooo good!!!!! so was the second one. i cant wait until the third book comes out
Rating: Summary: The teenage stud Review: Jonah Black is a teenage boy, about 17 years old. He should be a senior, but is held back for reasons that remain foggy throughout the book. In fact, everything remains foggy throughout this book. There are so many secrets and fantasies floating around, that it's hard to know what is real and unreal, and what is the truth and fiction. We get introduced to Jonah just as he is entering back into his old school, for reasons we know nothing about at this point. There is no backround info given on this guy, we just tumble right in with him and his life, learning as we go. You get the impression that he believes himself to be different, pathetic, misunderstood, unpopular, and distant from the norm. There are many clues hinting to this. The thing is though, the more you read, the more you get that....Jonah is the most popular boy in school, the most creative, the best at....just about everything, is lusted after by any girl who lays eyes on him, and has this instinctive cart load of self assurance thrown in the bag as well. All of this he seems completely oblivious to. Your image of him will change throughout the story, and you will feel as if you are not just reading a book, but taking a trip inside the mind, body, soul, and heart of a very real, very special person. You will literally feel as if you are visiting a new best friend, dying to know what makes him tick. Secrets are kept, and vulnerabilities are revealed in a perfect blend of fantasy and reality. It's never clear what is real, and what is not, and you will find yourself doubting him about everything, but falling more and more in love with this new friend, to the point where it no longer matters what is fact and fantasy. The book explores our self reflection, and how it differs from reality. The author teaches us that a friend is not a person who always has our best interests at heart, and helps us through the bad times, but can be, as Jonah discovers, or maybe just shows us, that a friend is someone we care for and who cares for us, though they constantly mess up, screw up, and make us furious. Jonah's many offbeat yet very real relationships differ so strongly from his imaginary ones. Yet all of them are flawed, vulnerable, and heartbreaking. The book is about looking beyond your personal perception of self, and revealing the way you really are, through how others see you. It is about loving people though they too often only think of themselves. It is about the power of creativity and imagination, and how they set us free and help us grow and learn. It is about holding onto idealism and romanticism at all costs, no matter what anybody says. This book is amazing, and I recommend it to anyone who knows what it's like to live inside their head.
Rating: Summary: Jonah Really Is a Stud!!! Review: Let me just say that after reading the 1st of the series i was really shocked on how good this book would be! It really caught my attention! Jonah is portrayed as a real teenager (unlike some books). He seems so real. He thinks just like any other crazy teenager would. It felt like I made a connection with Jonah,Thorne, and most of all Posie. And let me just say that I think I have fallen in Love with Jonah he seems like a really cool guy that would do ANYTHING for love. I just finished reading the whole series and I'm really looking forward to seeing more "Black Books" in the future!!!
Rating: Summary: Could be a promising series.... Review: Meet Jonah Black. By all outward appearances you would think that Jonah is just an average teenage boy. But rumors about him run rampant when Jonah starts back at his local high school, two years after he left for boarding school. Everyone knows that he was expelled from his boarding school, but no one knows why. Regardless, Jonah now has to repeat the eleventh grade, something which he is very unhappy about. In addition to this burden, he must readjust to both life with his family and life with his old friends. A lot of stuff has happened since Jonah left, and a lot of things have changed. Except Jonah. Everyone keeps telling him that he hasn't changed a bit. Or has he? Through his diary we get a glimpse at his family life, his school life, and more importantly, his inner life. Jonah has a VERY rich and active imagination. But his imaginative life has just as many problems as his real one. Through out the novel Jonah switches between reality and fantasy in the blink of an eye. I was initially thrown when the switching occurred, but after I got into the book I didn't notice it as much. Jonah's stream of consciousness does take some getting used to, but it is well worth the read. With the diary format being very popular right now, it was refreshing to read one with a male perspective. By the end of the novel I did not learn any answers to the questions raised about Jonah Black. That was a bit disappointing. However, I did learn enough about him to want to come back and find out what exactly he is hiding. This book is a good start to what looks to be a promising series.

Rating: Summary: OMG! Review: Omg! its amazing that this book is not fiction!!!! I mean wow...Jonah Black is a god! (u have to read it to see why) I thought it was so interestiing to see what was going on in a guys mind. Believe it or not their more like us girls then u think...
Rating: Summary: Jonah is Excellent Review: Reading this book is like peaking into a best friends private diary. You are able to see Jonah's private thoughts and struggles. It is so real and exciting. Jonah, a highly imaginative guy, has just moved back to his hometown after being kicked out of the boarding school he was attending. You, as well as his friends are in the dark about why. When he moves back, he sees how his best friends have changed, and his family. And the event that kicked him out of boarding school seems to come back to haunt him with bad luck; he is told he has to repeat 11 grade and not graduate with his friends, among other things. In the diary, Jonah ties his imagination with reality. His daydreams, though sometimes annoying, give the books a little pizzaz. Although in the end of the first novel, questions are left unanswered(which keeps you reading the second, the third and even the fourth). This book is exciting and fun. It is a great read for teenagers everywhere.
Rating: Summary: These are really freaking awesome books Review: The Black Book series is like Gossip Girl, it's not intellectual in the least bit, but it's soooooooooo good! I'm 14 and I read them and loved them and I passed them on to my friend who loved them. It's really irritating how there's always something that you still don't know by the end of the book, so you HAVE to buy the next one, but they're just so good, it doesn't matter. Read them, if you think they're crap, then you need to start taking yourself less seriously.
Rating: Summary: Finally an Original Series! Review: The main character is a boy named Jonah Black. He has a genius/rebel sister and insane mother. A few close friends and many acquaintance's. Jonah got kicked out of a school in Philadelphia and returns (home) to california only to find he has to repeat the 11th grade. Clues as to why he was kicked out are given throughout the text. But what sets this book apart from the rest is Jonah keeps a journal. And through out the book he slips into dream worlds. Sometimes the current situation will be twisted around to his fantasy or thoughts. My friend is enjoying my copy right now. I would highly suggest this book to everyone. Especially girls who want a sneak peak at a guys thoughts.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring Review: This book is really great. The entire series is fabulous. Jonah is a regualr teenage boy going through everyday troubles that all teenagers go through. But jonah has his way of dealing with these problems that just make you laugh and you sort of feel a bit sorry for him, but you know it's gonna work out. Jonah is very down to earth and understanding. He doesn't judge anybody and can't wait to enjoy the rest of his life. These books are very inspiring. I encorage everyone to read it whether you are 10 or 30.
