Summary: An Extremely Exciting Book
Review: "Pleasing the Ghosst"was not my favorite book but it was ok.The main characters in"Pleasing the Ghost"are Dennis,Aunt Julia,Uncle Arvie,Dennis Mom,Bo(the dog)and Colin. There are lots more but I can't tell you them all.I liked it when Dennis found the box of letters and money in it.I liked that part because Aunt Julia seemed very happy when Dennis found the letters.I didn't it when Colin kept giving Aunt Julia chocolates, because he was wierd. My favorite character was Aunt Julia. She let Dennis have the bicycle. My least favorite character was Colin because he seemed very wierd and a showoff. I think the book could be better if Dennis got to see his Dad.The writing style that the author used is very similar to the book "The B.F.G." because the authors both made up words for some of the characts. The book could also be better if Uncle Arvie didn't fly away so soon. The book was pretty good because every chapter there would be a new word. For this book you have to have a good imagination because there isn't any pictures of the characters. I would like to tell you about the end but I can't so you will just have to go and read the book.I recomend this book to someone who has a good imagination, because there isn't many pictures, and you kind of have to bleave in ghosts.I think that this book is good for all ages, because it is not hard to read. I think that I would rate this book 4/5. I think that Uncle Arvie uses very comical words. Somehow when he makes up a word you can almost tell what he is saying. Well that's all have to say about the book "Pleasing the Ghost".

Summary: Paige's book review
Review: "Pleasing the Ghost" is a funny story but I don't like it.I think the words and repitition of "pleases" that are pointless.I like Bo [the dog]though. The way he jumped up and barked when ghosts came through the window. It's cute! My least favorite charactor was Colin because he thinks he is so cool.He is the most conceited charactor in the whole book.I liked the part when Uncle Arvie asked for the 1st. "please" it was very exciting because you have not read the book and don't know what will happen next. The 2nd. and 3rd. "pleases" start to get boring.I think it is most similar to "The Sixth Sense"because both kids see ghosts.Sharon Creech has an unique style of writing but it is not my favorite. It is so short and she crams it then stops short like:"I wonder why aunt Julia has that huge box..." It's so annoying!I would recommend it to gr.3 up.On a scale of 1 - 10 I give it a 3!

Summary: Craig's Review
Review: "Pleasing the Ghost" is written by the author named Sharon Creech. I liked this book because I like to hear ghost stories. This book is similar to a book that I read up north about all kinds of ghosts. There is one thing that might have spoiled the book: there is a picture of the surprise on the back cover of the novel. If you want to know what the surprise is, then you should read the book to find out. The pictures in this book were good. They had lots of detail and, compared to "The B.F.G.", they were better. The three characters that I liked in this book were: Uncle Arvie, Dennis and Bo(Dennis's dog). There were still some other good characters in this book but those three were my favourites. This story took place in three locations. It started out at Dennis's home. Then, during the stroy, it took place at the park in the town, and then at Uncle Arvie's old house. This novel is exciting because of the adventures in it. The author does a good job at making up those "witty" words and the spelling was so "witty" also. Some people I talked to about this book, said that they liked it because they like ghosts and others said it was king of boring. I say that it was a good book. People who like to read and like to hear about ghosts, they should read this book. Some people might find the book sad because of the fathers who passed away and didn't visit their children. I especially like the funny words and the good characters in this book.

Summary: A HILARIOUS NOVEL
Review: "Pleasing the Ghost", was a fairly good book but compared to "The B.F.G.". " The B.F.G.," was a better book. Even though "The B.F.G." was better, the two novels were almost the same. Sophie, and orphan girl, saw the Big Friendly Giant and Dennis, a boy who lost his father, can see ghosts. The other thing was the B.F.G. and Uncle Arvie spoke a weird language. (B.F.G.-"Am I right or left" (right or wrong); Uncle Arvie - foodle a doodle (need a ghost) One more thing they had in common was they had a mission to do. For Dennis it was to figure out Uncle Arvie's three pleases and for Sophie it was to stop those nine blood-sucking giants.

I liked the book "Pleasing the Ghost" because of the hilarious language that was very challenging to figure out what the words meant. Uncle Arvie is my favouite character in the novel because he was acting terrible when Colin (Beaney-booger) gave Aunt Julia chocolates and Uncle Arvie smashed them. Also to drive Colin away, Uncle Arvie pinched Colin and he thought they were wasps or bees. My least favourite character was Billy Baker (another Beaney-Booger!)Even though he is mean he also lost his father and he can see ghost and doesn't even know it!

I liked this book but that is only my opinion. I would recommed this book to anyone with a sense of humor.

Summary: An Extremely Exciting Ghost Story
Review: "Pleasing the Ghost"was a great book. I liked this book because it was exciting and it left you wondering what will happen at the end of each chapter. The main characters are Dennis,Uncle Arvie,Aunt Julia,Bo,Colin, and Billy. Bois my favorite character. He is a dog. He aed Uncle Arvie are good friends. I like Bo because was funny at some parts and in the book it showed pictures of him and he is really, really cute.

Pleasing the Ghost is just what the title say,"Pleasing the Ghost." Uncle Arvie is a ghost and he asks for three favors. Unfortunalety,Uncle Arvie had a stroke before he died, therefore he has his own language. Through the book, the three favors are referred to as the "three pleases." I can't tell you what the three pleases are because it would give away the book.

I'm going to compare this book to one of my fovoritebooks called "Black Beauty." "Black Beauty"is a wonderful book. Infact, better than "Pleasing the Ghost." Many other people would think that

Summary: An Exciting and Funny Story
Review: "Pleasing the Ghost"was not my favorite book because it was hard to understand Uncle Arvie's language. It would be better if you if you knew if Dennis's Dad would come and visit him. The characters are Dennis,Uncle Arvie,Aunt Julia,Billy Baker,Dennis's mom,and Bo. My favorite character is Uncle Arvie because he was funny and mysterious with his words. Another reason the book could be better is if Uncle Arvie would be able to stay. I wish there were pictures of what Uncle Arvie was like, although,I guess the author wanted me to imagine him in my own head. My favorite part of the story was when Dennis found the money and letters because Aunt Julia was happy and pleased with Dennis. My least favorite part of the story was when the wind took Uncle Arvie away and Dennis was not very happy. He was sad. My least favorite character was Colin. He seemed crazy to me and thanks to Uncle Arvie he did not come back because of the wasps. I think Roald Dahl's book, "The B.F.G.", was more exciting than "Pleasing the Ghost" because there was giants and they would eat people. I recommend this book to people who have a big imagination, like my friend, Jessica. I can't tell you about the end, because, if I do, I will be a spoiler! If you want to read the story, you have to go to your local library. I rate this book 3/5 because it was good enough to keep me reading.
