Summary: One Fat summer
Review: I think that this book tells a story about many people and there lives. Like how some people might have a very low selfasteam like Bobby in the beggining of this book or they might have one like Bobby at the end of the book in other words fairly high. Another thing that I likes about this book is the Plot this plot takes place in up state New York rite next to a lake that they like to call Rumson Lake. Bobby is a fat 14 year old boy who doesnt have alote of friends, and Joanie is a shie young girl with an abnoxios nose. Willie on the other hand is an x Marine jurk who doesnt stop making fun of Bobby and Joanie. Bobby's sister michele is an 18 year old who sneaks out of the house every chance that she gets. She is also datting Pete marino who is the owner of Rumson lake.

Summary: What's going on with Bobby?
Review: Bobby has only one friend and her name is Joanie. Michelle, who is Bobby's older sister likes this guy. Pete Marino, he is a really good driver. Everyone there teases Bobby abput his weight and Joanie about her nose. Joanie leaves for the city and won't Bobby why. He is very worry. Bobby takes this mowing the lawn at Dr.Kahn house to earn some money and get his off his back. Is Dr.Kahn cheating on Bobby? Michelle and Pete are going out but Pete's parents don't approve it. Bobby is one of Willie worse enmies. What will happen with Bobby and Willie? Will Willie stop teasing Bobby? Will Bobby quit his job at Dr.Kahn's? Bobby has lost any weight? What happened to Joanie? Is she ok? You have to find out for your self because I'm not going to you what happens because that will ruin it for you. Sorry. Have fun reading. Review: This time, however, his job is worse. He cuts in zigzags, and misses many small tufts of grass. When Dr. Kahn sees this, he is appalled. He instructs Bobby to do it over the next day. At this point in the story, Bobby learns his first lessons of the values of hard work and determination. He realizes that much effort must be focused on the work at hand. When cutting the lawn the next day, he is determined to finish without any mistakes, which he does. He makes up pretend missions in his head, which help him finish his work. One day, when cutting the lawn, he pretends that he's on a mission to rescue a trapped wagon train before the Indians attack it, and the only obstacle between them and him is the lawn. These missions, or plot lines, help motivate Bobby, and give him more determination. This is the turning point in the story for Bobby.
After Bobby's successful mowing of the lawn, he has much more confidence and self-respect. He begins to feel proud of the work he accomplishes at Dr. Kahn's, and gains the benefits of good, hard work, about $7.00 a week. His newly gained confidence is apparent in other aspects of his life as well. Although Bobby is still thoroughly intimidated by Dr. Kahn, he feels more comfortable around other people. He attempts to stand up to Willie Rumson, with words, and is partially successful. Willie realizes that Bobby is no longer a fearful scared person, however Bobby continues to be teased and roughed-up by Willie. Willie, the former holder of Bobby's current job, goes to Dr. Kahn, expecting to start work for the summer. When he finds out the Bobby has taken the job, Willie is angry. He tells Bobby to quit, and threatens him with physical harm if he doesn't. Bobby, however, stands strong and keeps the job, because of its positive effects on his life. Willie continues to threaten Bobby, and Bobby continues to stand strong, not bac

Summary: Best book ever "INTERESTING"
Review: The book ONE FAT SUMMER is one of the best books i have ever read out of the few books i have read. It is about a boy named Robert, he is overweight and ugly. Robert has a friend named Joanie and they have known each other since they were small. They are best friends because they both are ugly. Joanie has a big nose and Robert is overweight so that is why people don't like them. So one summer Joanie goes out of town and Robert doesn't have any friends but Joanie, so he didn't just want to sit around all summer and do nothing. Then he seen a sign for mowing lawns for one dollar. So he went to the guy Dr. Kahn's house and he lied to him and said he was 17 but he was nerves. But Dr. Kahn wasn't really paying him one dollar it went from 1 dollar to 75 cents to 50 cents an hour.Robert was to afraid to tell Dr. Kahn anything becuase he tought he would get fired. So one day he was going to work he seen a truck that said SMITH boys and he tought he was going to fired for the SMITH boys. Then he got jumped and was stripped naked and left in the middle of no were. But as he was mowing lawn for Dr. Kahn he noticed a change in his body. He was losing weight as well as getting muscles. Robert lost about 20 pounds or more just from mowing lawn. Also Roberts best friend Joanie gets a little change.... So if you read this book you will find out what else happens. This was a really good book and makes you just want to keep on ready more and more. I recommend every one and anyone to read this it is interesting.
