Rating: Summary: I couldn't put the book down! Review: One day I came home from school and my twelve year-old brother had this book, One Fat Summer, on his desk. I picked the book up and the second I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It is truly a book for all ages because at the time I was 16. I also know quite a few adults who enjoyed the book because it reminded them of their childhoods. I grew up going upstate New York to a lake, just like Bobby, every summer. The book helped me enjoy many of my memories while capturing my imagination with its irresistible storyline. If a taste of summer is what you're looking for, read One Fat Summer and take a walk around a lake!
Rating: Summary: A great book for all ages Review: One Fat Summer is a story about an overweight teen that discovers his best friend Joannie is going back to the city for almost all of the summer. Bobby has no choice than to go to camp and be a junior counselor. He soons finds out that taking up a job as a lawn boy could be his worst decision yet. His boss works him to death and pays him dirt for money and the local boy who, Bobby stole the job from, is constantly on the move looking for the perfect time to pay him back. Despite working for a job that takes all the life out of him and avoiding the locals, Bobby's summer might be the best one yet. I would strongly suggest this book to readers of all ages. This exciting book shows just how fun a summer can be and how the best time of your life can be by yourself.
Rating: Summary: This book is ok Review: The book wasn't my type of book to read. It's about a boy that is over weight. One July, 4, Bobby (the oer weight boy) got to go to see the fireworks because it was cool and he could where heavy clothes so the other people couldn't tell that he was fat. He got a job of mowing for a rich person and had a conflict with him and then got rehired to mow.
Rating: Summary: One Fat Summer Review: Earleir this year I read a book called One Fat Summer by Robert Lipsyte. I thaught this was a pretty good book to read. It had alot of action in it. The main charector in the book is an extremely overweight boy who is always getting made fun of. There was always one kid that made fun of him and tried to beat him up. One time he got his revenge on the kid that made fun of him. I recomed this book for you to read.

Rating: Summary: sugarbaby loves One Fat Summer Review: One Fat Summer brought tears to my eyes, I don't even know why. It is a real page turner. I thought for awhile that Bobby was a real person. It talks about real situations, like, being fat or other stuff. I am very glad that it got 5 stars.I think that all pre-teens should read this book. It's even great for guy's.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic but realistic Review: You really like Bobby and want for things to go easily for him. You want his Dad to pay more attention, you want him to get through the summer with little ridiculing about his size, and most of all you really want him to prove that he can suceed at his job! At the the end you get all that and more! An entertaining read!
Rating: Summary: One Fat Summer Review: I lilked this book becuase it was realistic. Nobody flew or lived through 100 explosions! I also like this book becuase it isn't to long or to short. It has just the right amount of page numbers, 236. One thing I didnt like about the book, was that it was kind of boring. It took about 5 pages just for Bobby to mow half a lawn! Other than that I liked the book alot. I think the best part of the book is when Whille pulles out a gun on Bobby. In this book whillie is a town bully. The book is very detailed, and I could picture the whole scene in my head. I think the climax was the most vivid element in the book. It had a lot of detailes and was action packed. There was fighting in between Whillie an Bobby, gun shooting, and heroism! Thats why the climax is my favorate part of the book. Then there was the resolution. I liked the resolution becuase, in the end Bobby looses a lot of pounds from mowing and he finaly stands up to Whillie.
Rating: Summary: Excellent for Younger Teenagers Review: This book is about people dissatisfyed with thier personal appearances and the different ways they overcome them. I don't reccommend this book to anyone who has a problem with thier personal appearance because the way one character over comes her problem (having a large nose) probably wasn't really the best method for someone her age and it might put wrong ideas into youngsters. The story works out pretty well and might inspire some.
