Summary: The Hoopster
Review: The book is a modern day story of struggle, moral conflict and the strong bonds of friendship that people of all ages can relate to, especially highschool students.
I think Mr. Sitomer's book is one in a wonderful and fresh new breed of writers and I look forward to his next work.

Summary: The Hoopster
Review: The Hoopster was a very enjoyable and easy read. I found the theme to be very appropriate for todays children and young adults who find themselves embroiled in similar situations. The moral is applicable to both inner city and rural kids and provides a positive outlook of what can be accomplished by caring individuals. I have passed my copy to several educators at both the middle and high school levels who find it appropriate at those grade levels and all social and economic backrounds.

Summary: Absolutely Smashing!
Review: This book has all the elements that make a novel worth reading. It has humor, (Cedric is hilarious) it has tragedy, suspense and most of all it sends a clear message about a very serious issue, but it makes it interesting to read. It is really an insight to teenage life and best of all it is really easy and fun to read!
This book is really a 'Slam Dunk' on teenage novels, Check It Out!

Summary: Great vocabulary
Review: This book has reall helped me in school. It contains vocabulary that I found was useful in both the High School Exit Exam and the SAT's. I recomend this book to students that want to amplify their vocabulary or to anyone who wants to boost-up their vocabulary.

Summary: Why the world needs to read this book!
Review: This is an epic tale of the trial and tribulations that a group of friends encounter. They are forced to analyze their relationship, including the racial differences that they had overlooked for so long. nd after an up and down rollercoaster ride, when the car comes to a stop, they realize thattheir friendship was strong enough to overcome it all. Alan L. Sitomer is the next great American author, expect big things from this guy. He has a very promising future, you will concur as soon as you read this modern American classic! I recommend The Hoopster without any reservations!

Summary: Basketball and Writing -- Games for Sissies -- Not
Review: What do teens have in common with Andre Anderson, hero of Alan Sitomer's The Hoopster? Just about everything -- and maybe nothing. Convinced that ethnic divides just don't apply to him personally, Andre dribbles and shoots his way through his multiethnic world. If only he hadn't written that article for Affairs Magazine, hadn't have been so vocal about the racial climate he observed. Andre's dream is lots bigger than a basketball, a hoopster's dream, though. Therein, Andre, and Sitomer through him, explores what it is like to want three-pointers, and philosophy, and decency. When it comes time for the movie (All right, maybe after the trilogy is finished...), all Sitomer will have to do is peel back some of that narrative as the book speaks true to character, no matter which one, on every page. Andre writes, and Sitomer writes right-on.
