Summary: Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes
Review: Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes was a great book. When a teenage girl, named Sarah Byrnes, stops speaking, her best friend, Eric (Moby) Calhoune, turns to find out why. When he discovers the truth about her past he finds himself in grave danger. The truth of her past leads him to her one disability, her burnt face. She has gone around telling the world lies and leaves the truth locked up inside, untill she can take it no longer and goes to a local hospital to find herself again.

Summary: My favorite Chrutcher novel
Review: This is the captivating story of two misfits, a fat boy named Eric Calhoune and a girl with scars on her face named Sarah Byrnes. Sarah Byrnes (as she likes to be called as she became sick of waiting for people to figure out the pun between her name and face) stops talking one day and Eric visits her conitnually. He talks about all the things Sarah Byrnes and him did, like Crispy Pork Rinds, and underground newspaper written and published by the two of them, and tries to get her to remember too. This is definately one of my favortie Chrutcher novels, this and Ironman. It was the first one I read (in third grade) and loved it then and now. If you haven't read all the Chris Chrutcher books, you are certainly missing out on one of the great wonders of the world.

Summary: Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes
Review: Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes is by far the best book I have ever read. I have almost all of Chris Crutcher's books, but this is my favorite. It's about this girl who is burned in an accident, and lies about it her whole life. But her best friend isn't buying it and she eventually tells him the truth. He is trying to help her, and at the same time, someone who doesn't want to be uncovered is trying to "help" him. I would recommend this book to everyone, it is a great book.

Summary: heart-warming, gut-wrenching,solidly TRUE
Review: What a great book to show the pain of being "different," and to let people know that just because you are a teenager doesn't mean you don't understand about courage or truth or sacrifice. In the wake of national tragedies, I wish I could asssign kids to read this book to learn about tolerance, and about taking a stand for justice.

Summary: It's a really good book, I liked it.
Review: This book is really good. It's mostly about the friendship between a girl named Sarah Brynes(she has scars on her face and hands from being burnt) and a guy named Eric Calhoone. The book tells about what happens to the two in junior high and high school, it kind of has a mystery in it. I suggest you read it and finds out what happens.

Summary: For those of us who feel different
Review: This novel is about two best friends named Sarah Byrnes and Eric Calhoune. These two become friends because of their differences they have within their peer group. Sarah is a girl wo has to live with a distorted face, and is constantly taunted. Eric on the other hand is obese and does not know how to stand up for himself. This book teaches us how to accept ourselves, and how to make other accept us. Also if we can not get others to accept us as who we are it shows us how to ignore them and stay at of trouble without making us a lesser person. I found this book to be very well written and will help those of us with low self-esteem.

Summary: A wonderful book for teenagers
Review: This book explores almost all of the problems faced by the modern day teenager. Pregnancy, religion, abortion, child abuse, abandomnment, homosexuality, being mistreated at school- it's all dealt with in a satirical and fast paced manner that makes the reader quite sure of how things are- and it leaves room for the reader to draw his own conclusions as well. I'd recommend this book for pre-teens and teenagers.
