Summary: To the Heart
Review: The book "No Promises in the Wind" was a wonderful book. It kept me reading, wanting to know what would happen next. The Book's true meanings want straight to the heart. The conflicts of Person vs. Person (Father and Son) and both their Person vs. Self inner conflicts kept me interested, and developed the plot nicely. The story revolves around 15-year-old boy named Josh Grondowski. Josh is forced to leave home and support his little brother, his friend Howie, and himself during these hard times. Set in the 1930's, the Great Depression has hit full swing, and Josh is confronted with many challenges. The pain, the suffering, and the hardship of the Depression are really brought out to the reader. The style of writing is down to earth, and you can almost feel Josh's most inner feelings. Over all, if someone knows what life is, the hard feelings and the hard times, readers will really enjoy this novel, and will find themselves sad that it had to come to an end.

Summary: My Thought on No Promises In the Wind
Review: I read this book for a school assignment. I did enjoy this book. I found that even though it happened nearly seventy years ago, the characters were easy to relate to.The main character Josh was about my age (15) when he ran away from his home with his brother Joey and his friend. I think I understand more how it was to live through the depression and I am glad I do not live in one now. I recommend this book.

Review: Irene hunt did an exellent job writing this book. She has shownus the depression through the journeys of two runaways, Josh and Joey,in search of a better life. It explains what poverty does to a family, it tears them apart. In this book you will read of the many journeys that Josh and Joey have. I had a wonderful time reading this book and i think that you will also.

Review: I thought this book was hard to understand. I thought this book had no moral to it. Also this book was not that interesting. It didn't catch my attention at the beginning. I've read better books. But, I still think it was OK.

Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Irene Hunt's descriptions bring the Great Depression to life. The suffering, anger, and courage of those who lived in 1932 are portrayed in such a way that I could vividly picture how it must have been to live during that time. Josh, Joey, their family, and those they meet, are believable characters. Ms. Hunt captures the emotions of her characters in such a way that I could feel like I was a part of the book. I would highly recommend this book to adults and teens alike.

Review: This is a great book to read and I think that everybody should read it to get an understanding of the Great Depression. Irene Hunt did a great job in describing every detail about Joey and Josh's lives. She also did a good job in describing other people's lives and how they survived during the depression.

Review: I enjoyed this book because it was exciting and had a lot of twists and turns. It kept my interest throughout the whole book. It was also easy to understand. From this book I learned about a time in our history that was difficult for most people. It contained a lot of details about the lives of the characters in the book. I also learned that it is possible to servive through tough times. I became aware of the tough times that some people had to go through during the Great Depression. I would recomend this book to anyone interested in the history of our country during the Great Depression.

Review: No Promises in the wind, catches your attention when there are parts that seem unrealistic, but in the end you learn what the people in the depression had to face. I really didn't think that the Depression had that much impact on people until I read this book. I thought that it was interesting that Josh ends up being a lot like his dad, even though he tries so hard not to be. In conclusion I think this is an excellant book, and it is also very educational to read.

Review: This book was so intresting. It made me cry because it had afew ups and downs. I enjoyed the part with Janey and Josh. The part Iliked the most is when Janey, Josh, and Lonnie heard over the radio about Joey. That made me cry! . You have to read this book.
