Summary: A Perfect Teen Mystery!
Review: After reading Legacy of Lies, the 1st book of the Dark Secrets series, I swore to myself that I would read all of the other books in the series. Why? Because this one was so, so good! It's all about Megan, an Arizona girl living with her mom, dad, and two brothers. Megan is adopted, and is convinced that since her father is African American that her old Grandmother wants absolutly NOTHING to do with her. But when she requests Megan come visit her for 2 weeks, Megan is quite shocked. As you read on, Megan must question her identity, try and figure out why items in the house are being moved from place to place, consider the connection between her and her great aunt Avril and her mysterious death, plus, try not to fall head over heels in love with her cousin, Matt. This book is a great mystery, with thrills, chills, and a little romance sprinkled through the chapters. This is a perfect book, and I myself look foward to reading the next books in the series!

Summary: Good plot, but not so good writing
Review: Dark Secrts: Legacy of Lies is a pretty good book, but i felt it could have been a lot better!
The story starts out with a girl named Megan who is visiting her grandmother (whom she has never met) in a little town in Maryland. As it turns out, her grandmothers house is the same one that she has been seeing in her dreams! And when some personal items of her grandmothers are mysteriously replaced, everything seems to be going wrong! She starts seeing ghosts at night and starts dreaming of a life she never knew. Plus, her cousin Matt seems to hate her from the moment he sees her. What exactly is going on?!
I must admit, even though the plot contains some weird themes (like reincarnation, karma, stuff like that) the plot is very good. There is just enough mystery and twists to keep the reader interested. But my only gripe with this novel is the writing. It seemed like the conversations between the characters were somewhat forced and they weren't very well written. Plus, by the end of the novel, when many huge revelations about the characters are revealed, it wasn't well written at all and I had to read the chapter several times before I could understand what was going on. This novel would have been fantastic if the author knew how to write better!

Summary: ONE OF MY FAVE BOOKS
Review: elizabeth chandler uses again her wittiness in making the characters more likeable and amusing. in this book, she clearly shows the attitudes of each of her characters by simple dialogues and incidents. legacy of lies is truly a fantastic book filled with intrigues and secrets that could surely make the readers feel that they were really in the place called wisteria.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: Hello, i read this book in the 7th grade when i was bored and just picked it up and started to casually read it while waiting for the bell to ring. Well, when i got into it, even further i couldnt stop reading it, i just had to know what happened to Megan, and of course the relationship between her and her hunky sort-of cousin!

Megan is invited to her Grandmothers house for a visit, after her father pursadeds Megan, she goes. Everything is pretty normal, other than the fact that Matt, her sort-of cousin, already hates her and they just met. Then she starts having this weird dreams, about her Great Aunt Avril, and things that were related to her. She wakes up in a strange room, later to be found out that it is Avrils room!

Megan starts to "research" things about Avrils death and why her Grandmother is acting all mental. She gets help from a local physic, lydia, who tells her a little about Avrils death and the love of her life, Thomas. Apparently Avril died when she was 16, and never got to fulfill her life.

Later in the book, Megan relizes that she is a reincarnated version of Avril, and the strange attraction that she has towards Matt, is b/c Matt is Thomas reincarnated.

In the end, after almost dying, and having Matt save her life, she believes even more in reincarnation, and that the love of her life is Matt. its a very romantic/suspenful novel.
If ur thinking i dont like romance novels, well neither do i, but this one seems to have a subtle romance, u can see the sttraction between the ppl, but nothing happens to the end, i suggest that u pick this book up as fast as u can, it is a fast read and very entertaining.
Enjoy and Blessed Be!

Summary: Disappointing to say the least
Review: I am a fan of Elizabeth Chandler's work, having enjoyed most of her books to date, however I'm glad that I only bought one of this series to start with.

The story is very slow moving to begun with and you're left waiting for the story to 'get to the point' once it gets there is moves along okay. At times it is comfusing, especially during the last chapter as some of the diologue doesn't say who says what, thus you have to keep re-reading it to find out.

She had a good idea with the story, reincarnation and all, but if you want to read something better, try Melinda Metz.

Summary: Megan's Mystery
Review: I felt this book had a deep and powerful understanding of what true love is. I understand now that some love can be forbiding and sometimes makes it worth the risk. There is some racial controversy in this book, that makes you feel closer to the characters. We also enjoyed reading this book because we were adopted, so it felt like we had something in common. Chandler really brings you closer to their lives and makes you have an intimate relationship with them. It keeps you guessing until the end, you never will see it coming.

Megan is attracted to her snob cousin (she is adopted). She looked into his eyes and felt an immediate connection, even though she didn't want to be attracted to him. Her grandmother though a little odd, and eccentric she ends up in the end of the book surprising you. The house even though mysterious has some secrets of it own...

Luv ya

Summary: Legacy of Weirdness
Review: I had read The Deep End of Fear, the fourth book in the Dark Series collection, first and loved it. I then ordered the other 3 books. Legacy of Lies does have a good plot going, but the in the middle of the book, Chandler turns to reincarnation and the book gets to weird for me. The plot lost all of its believability, and my interest. I like ghost stories, but reincarnation is just too weird for me. Even if someone was reincarnated, would there really be two other people who were friends reincarnated at the same time and all meet together and have others that haven't died yet there too? I was just disappointed as I was expecting more from Legacy of Lies, and I felt that Chandler failed to deliver. The Deep End of Fear was much better in my opinion, contrary to others think, and I hope that the next two books are better than Legacy. It was a good book if you like that kind of stuff, or if you want to read all of the Dark Secrets books, but otherwise I'd steer clear.

ETA: I was looking at the back of the DVD "What a Girl Wants" with Amanda Bynes and Colin Firth and for Screenplay it says "Jenny Bick and Elizabeth Chandler." ?? Is this the same Elizabeth Chandler? I tried looking on the internet for info but couldn't find anything... does anyone know? That would be cool if it were her, because I love that movie! Well, thanks if anyone can help!
