Rating: Summary: Hilariosity funnier than loons on loon tablets! Review: "Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas" is the third in Louise Rennison's "confessions of Georgia Nicolson" series, a sort of teenage Bridget Jones who humorously captures in her diary her life in her British high school, her continuing romance with Robbie, Sex God and member of the Stiff Dylans, the misadventures of her ferocious cat Angus and her deranged little sister Libby, her loonie parents, and the general angst of being a teenager (chest size, fuzzy eyebrows, snoggability, proper application of makeup for specific occasions, etc). This instalment sees Georgia lusting after a former flame, Dave the Laugh, as well as schoolwide lust over the new French teacher Henri. We tag along on Georgia's miserable family vacation to Och Aye Land (Scotland), where the local "club" is the supermarket and Angus and Libby are munching on haggis together. Later, back at school, we follow Gee through her typical days of misbehaviour, pranks, and plotting. Laugh out loud funny, always original, can't wait to read the next one in the series!
Rating: Summary: What a Laugh Review: As a reader of Georgia's fabbity fab life, this third installment was as entertaining as the first to. Page after page was fill with hilarious situations that only a teen can relate to. A great read especially after reading a depressing book!
Rating: Summary: third is still a laugh Review: Fourteen-year-old Georgia is the official girlfriend (OG) of Robbie the Sex God (SG) in this third installment from Louise Rennison. Life is not perfect though as the olds (her parents --also known as Mutti and Vati) drag her off to Och Aye land (Scotland) for a vacation against her will, Angus, her wild cat, is under threat from Vati to get neutered, and the ace gang (her best friends) gives her both joy and headaches. There is also intrigue as her ex, Dave the Laugh, seems to be getting together with Ellen, one of the ace gang. Whatever happens, you know it won't be normal!Mixed in all this is Libby, Georgia's much younger sister, and all her cute antics, and Georgia's run-ins with Elvis Attwood and various school personnel (which never seem to bode well for her). It's hilarious, and, if nothing else, makes you glad you don't go to that particular school!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Review: Georgia is back, with more hilarious antics than ever. Yes, she can officially call herself the girlfriend of a sex god. He even holds her hand in public. But now comes the problem. Georgia is developing feelings for Dave the Laugh, whom one of her best friends is crushing on at the same time. Georgia now has to choose between the Sex God and Dave the Laugh, before she loses both of them and has her heart broken. But why can't she have them both? This is another hilarious addition to the "Georgia Nicholson" book series, and a must read for all fans of Louise Rennison.
Rating: Summary: A Little Short, But Worth Your Time! Review: Georgia Nicholson is debating her place in the world yet again. The family vacation to Och Aye Land (otherwise known as Scottland) is one of the highlights of Rennison's hilarious 3rd work, "Knocked Out By My Nunga-Nungas." Georgia is a character we have all grown to love through Rennison's "Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging" series. We have seen her grow to become the official girlfriend of a "sex god" named Robbie and enjoyed her ongoing jokes about her parents. Now, some new crises arise. Georgia's cat, Angus, is in love with a Burmese "sex kitten" owned by Georgia's neighbors. Her father has wanted Angus's "trouser snake addendums" to be surgically removed for quite a while now, and with Naomi now pregnant, it looks as though Angus's manly days are through. Georgia also thinks she may have some unresolved feelings with her "red herring" Dave the Laugh (whom she used to entice Robbie the Sex God). She even admits that her relationship with Robbie is strange since he is several years older. It's a book that will make you look like a sputtering fool if read in public and a general good read. I only give four stars because the ending is such a merciless hook ("will the kittens be Angus's? Can she balance both a sex god and a laugh at the same time? This is her prime, after all. We'll just have to wait and see.") Other than that, it's a great rainy Saturday afternoon read.
Rating: Summary: Fabity-Fab-Fab! Review: Georgia strikes again in this hilarious book that is third in the series. I couldn't put it down...AGAIN! I got to the end and felt almost depressed because it was over. If you liked Angus, Thongs...and ...Girlfriend of a Sex God, then you will love this book. I certainly can't wait for the next one. It is a great book for girls 12 to 100!
Rating: Summary: Very funny and an easy read Review: Georgia strikes again! After reading the first 2 books, I eagerly opened this one and was not disappointed. I laughed out loud so many times!! The author transported me back in time to those crazy teenage years. She has perfectly captured the essence of being a teenage girl - the insecurity, the obsessive/compulsive behavior, the silliness, the rollercoaster emotions, etc. To the reader who found Georgia rude, I suggest spending some time around actual teenage girls...it is part of the whole drama of being a teenager...(They do outgrow this stage, after all) I am now awaiting the further, further, further adventures of Georgia. I just have to know what happens with Dave(the red herring) and the Sex God. Kudos to Louise Rennison for being in touch with young women today!! Please write more...
Rating: Summary: FUNNY To the point of Scarey Review: GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!... I love how REAL these books are. Georgia almost had me jealous for a while (being a 14 year old myself)but then she goes home and it gets me praying that my life is never like that. I love the way everything is funny in a hostile way and it takes dysfunctional family to a whole new level!!! GREAT books a must read.
Rating: Summary: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Review: I absolutly HATED this book! It had too many [explicit] references and it had no plot whatsoever. This is one of the worst and most revolting books that I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious but different.... Review: I adore the Georgia books, and have always gotten ahead of the game and ordered the next installments from Amazon.uk. My bone to pick with this book is that there are major changes from the British edition. I understand the reasoning for some of them, but I wish all American girlies could experience the true Britishosity of the originals. Can't wait for #4!
