Rating: Summary: A Message for All about Mental Illness Review: Ruth White, known for her Appalachain characters does a wonderful job displacing a family from the mountains to the "big city" without overexaggerating the consequences. The real story is that of Lyric's sister, Summer. The stress of moving has intensified her mental illness. Now Lyric and her father must deal with the results. But how does a teenager have a social life in a new place with a sister who behaves beyond strange? And what happens when that sister becomes a danger to herself and others? Lyric must come to terms with her sister's illness, telling her friends, and starting a new life. A good read for anyone who is teaching about mental illness or mental health. Sometimes disturbing and a little humorous, White correctly portrays both sides that many families encounter. A good book to put on the summer reading list.

Rating: Summary: Good read, but I'm not a fan for tragedy. Review: The book I must say almost put me to tears and let me tell you the only book's that I tear from are full of adventure, Harry Potter, for example. In this book it is things that have happened in the past. I don't like reading books like that. Now don't say, this book is wonderful, what is your problem yet. Because it was a hooking book, I just get a weird feeling after I read books like these. It's just not my type.
Rating: Summary: Bittersweet Review: This book was great, but a little too sad for me. It is about a girl, Lyric, with a beautiful and smart sister, Summer, with a couple of strange habits. But then the family moves, and it becomes obvious that Summer has a problem. First she is just strange, but then she becomes dangerous-to herself and to others. Will she ever become the enthusiastic teen she used to be? Read this exciting book with a bittersweet ending!!--MSJ
Rating: Summary: So sad. Review: This book was VERY sad, but I loved it. I kept wondering if this book was about Ruth White's own sister. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone who doesn't mind a lot of sadness thrown in with all the happy parts.
Rating: Summary: Chelsey's Book Review Review: this is my favorite book. I am a girl who hates to read books, they are either to big, to boring or just weird. I was in love with this book after the second chapter. It felt so real. This book has so many happy parts, scary parts, silly parts, and fearul parts. Yoy will fall in love with lyric as she cares for her ill sister summer. Listen i am a girl who hates to read, yet i loved this book and it has inspired me to on my summer time read more and more books. this is my all time favorite book. The comes a book called "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" by steven king!
Rating: Summary: You have to get it! Review: This is the best book I have ever read. This book gives you it all laughs, tears and the fun of reading it! It deals with many different important issues throughout the book which make all your emotions seen. Once you pick this book up you can't put it down because you just have to know what ends up happening! A great beggining, middle and end! You can't get any better!
Rating: Summary: It was good Review: This was a very good book, but in some parts it was confusing. Overall it was a great book it just took a while to get into.
Rating: Summary: Memmories of Summer Review: TThis book is a great book. In the story Lyric's sister, Summer has a disease called shizophrenia. Summer starts acting weird and starts to see things and people. The author takes us inside Lyric and shows us her feelings about Summer and the problem she is going through.
