Review: A beautiful book that my wife and I read to each other early every morning in the sunroom to start the day well before we read the newspapers and have coffee. The New Century translation is superb, the best I have ever come across. So understandable. The accompanying short daily reading from a contemporary author frames the biblical experience in everyday terms. Perhaps my favorite is that by Richard Foster on forgiveness that accompanies the reading on Acts 10:23b-48. What a relief to read sacred scriptures from the old and new testaments and be able to relate to them. I feel blessed in having this little book.
