Summary: Dog Song
Review: The book I read was Dog Song. A boy named Russel Susskit, hates waking up in the morning and hearing his fathers coughing, and the smell of diesel oil, and the snow machines in the morning. An old man named Oogruk is the only shaman who owns the last team of dogs in the village, and that Russel wants to learn the old ways but they can't help him much because people thought they would be helping satin doing his work so Oogruk sends him out to find a song taking the dogs with him.
My first reason I liked the book was it was kind of interesting sort of because the seal would'nt come to their village because of the snow machines.
My second reason that I liked the book was that Oogruk sent Russel out to find a song that lead him to a epic journey.
My third reason is that it was an interesting book to read.
The part I enjoyed the most was when Russel and the dogs found a Mammoth and killed it and it swas a long gorey fight with it.
I would recomend this book because this is a really good book to read because it has intersesting details about how the story went.

Summary: Dogsong
Review: Russle needs some advise and goes to oogruks house to get some from oogruk. He talks to oogruk then he finds that everyone used to have a song.Russle goes off to try and find his song.He found his song and tried to get everyone to have a song.

I liked the book because it was a good book in a way, but if you like weird books you would like this one.I hated it because i thought it was stupid and had no mening to it unless you like stupid books.

I liked the book.My favorite part wass when Russle rroght deer heads to oogruks house then he took out the eyes and put then in a pan, held it over a flame and when they were warm oogruk put them in his mouth and ate them, it waas the coolest part of the book.

I wouldn't rcommend this book to anyone because i didn't enjoy it, but if you like pointless books then i would recommend it to you to read.

Summary: Brutalally Boring
Review: This book was really boring for me. I found the subject to be gorey. I mean, eating eyeballs and urinating on Snowmobile tracks in my opinion leaves me wondering how it got the Newbery Honor. The chapter headings were pointless, meaning ( The Dream, The Run, The Dream, The Run, The Dream, The Run and finally..."The Dream Run" getting the picture?) The only thing I found interesting, was the adventure. I also think that it was pointless to float out on a piece of ice inthe middle of the sea. If you want real Eskimo action, see the movie, "North", but that is just one man's opinion.
Thanks Scott

Summary: A book for children to know something about life
Review: The song, life, tradition, sled, dogs, dream, and Russel (not Russell) constitute the poetic DOGSONG. The book gives you a scene of both dream and reality mixed together and leaves you with the room to muse over and even to participate.

Summary: A Great Book On Survival
Review: I really enjoyed DOGSONG by Gary Paulsen. The reason I liked it was because it was full of excitement. You would like DOGSONG if you like survival books, dogs, and nature. There is one thing about this book, it does not have much of an ending but the rest of the book is very good. That is why I gave it four stars. So I think you should read DOGSONG.

Summary: A great book on survival
Review: I just finished Dogsong by Gary Paulsen and it was a great book. I liked it because it was about a kid around my age who is trying as hard as he can to accomplish what he started out to do. If you like books that are adventures check out this book , but the ending isn't what you think.

Summary: Dogsong
Review: Out of the scale frome 1 to 5, I pick 5 because the book really drew me in to the pages. Thinking about the next moment Russul could be hanging of a cliff or be face to face with an walrus. I really liked this book and encourage you to read it.

Summary: ...Smashing Review of Dogsong
Review: Dogsong is a really superb book. The story takes place in an Eskimo village in Alaska.Dogsong is jam-packed with action, but is mainly about a boy discovering himself,or finds his "song."I don't really enjoy reading, but I could't put this book down.Anyone who likes books with lots of action and excitement should read Dogsong.

Summary: Astonishing book
Review: To me Dogsong was a good book. I liked it because it explained how live was as an eskimoe, while tying it in with a significant plot. When I finished this book I was amazed how life was as an eskimoe. All you ate was meat and snow and there was very little to do, considering that there was only a couple hours of daylight a day. I also enjoyed the plot. It was about a boy named Russel that was sick of his eskimoe life. Russel goes on a life-threatining adventure to solve his troubling problems.
Dogsong was a great book, and I hope you read it

Summary: Adam's Review
Review: Gary Paulsen has wrote so many great, interesting books and this book, "Dogsong", just adds to the collection. This is a story of a boy named Russel Suskitt that is an eskimo who wants to find his inner-self and get away from his normal, boring way of life. Russel goes and speaks to a elder man, but very clever, named Oogruk. He tells Russel about the way life was when men made their living and how they made personal songs of life. Oogruk teaches him how to hunt, how to find his inner-self, and to make his own song of life. So Russel decides to make his own song of life by going on an adventure that would risk his life. Russel gathers some dogs and gets a dogsled together and starts out for the biggest adventure of his life. Along the way he has to sled through mountains, icy terrains, and even rivers. He also met up with a polar bear. In addition, during his trip he also helped rescue an eskimo woman that was pregnant. Oogruk's teaching came to use when Russel had to hunt for his food out in the wild. Russel had a great time on this adventure being away from the village and finding his inner-self. He also built a friendship with the dogs that was very important for this young man out in the great wild. This adventure helped Russel find his inner-self and make his own song of life.

This book is very exciting filled with adventure, hunting, and tips for being in the wilderness. I enjoyed this book alot and gave it four out of five stars. If you are someone who does not like adventure and reading about the great outdoors then this book is not for you. I do really recommend it to anyone that likes adventure and reading about the wilderness.
