Summary: Good book. BUT...
Review: ...I think I found the first one a bit more enjoyable. This one only covers a few days in Sydney's burgeoning career as a spy. It's almost like a "weekend warrior" type thing. It's her first real mission, and she's teamed up with Noah Hicks. While reading this installment, and about the things that Syd and Noah go through, I found it kind of sad that, in a few years, she would eventually kill Noah (this isn't a spoiler, unless you don't watch "Alias" on ABC...and if you don't, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU???).

Anyway, this book is breezy, lightweight fare. I believe it's meant for teens. I'm an Alias freak, hence why I purchased this book. But I think I'd like a more "adult" Alias book to read. You know...something I won't breeze through in two hours. I'm not complaining though. I bought this one, I bought the first one, and I'll buy the next one for sure.

Summary: Wheee! This makes up for the ALIAS rerun this week!
Review: A great book. It's the story of Sydney's first "official" mission- because undercover concerts with sleazy Cubans don't count. Guess who her partner is- Noah Hicks! This book makes him sound relatively hot, not the No!Augh assassin he really is. Sydney and Noah go to Paris for a "simple" reconaissance mission- but nothing is as simple as it seems. They have great aliases- wealthy young people! Nothing like that, huh? And Sydney gets to try on pretty clothes! Sydney conquers her fear of deep swimming, which stems from "Laura Bristow's accident". And the first safe house visit! Let me get my scrapbook! Sydney finds herself falling in love with Noah, and almost tricks Francie! My God, Sydney at a frat party! That must be some dorm salad bar! Not really, read the book! (Techno beats of doom...) Does Sydney make it out alive? Well, DUH. She does have a whole series to get through. Does she fall in love with Noah? Well, DUH again! They meet again in season 1, episode 18, and Noah meets his timely demise in episode 19. Oh well. The book makes him seem more appealing than he really is.

This book is a very good book. It is like the TV show, yet, still as exciting. Sydney Bristow is part of SD-6, which is part of the CIA. She is getting her first alias. She will be disguised as a rich tourist snob visiting Paris. It's her first at everything; her first mission, enemy, crush, and BIG mistake. A lot of things happen in this book; her crush is also disguised, as her husband. In the middle, they also find out that their hotel room is bugged. There is also another part when she gets caught by a strong man with a lot of muscles. There are many surprises in this story, and it makes the story very exciting.
One of the parts I liked was when she was finding out information on her new alias. I wish I could go to Paris as a rich snob but, it is also dangerous. There are many parts in this story when she was close to death. "Her final gasp of air burned in her lungs. In less than a minute, she'd have to breathe." That part was very scary, so I continued to read on. "Reflex would force her mouth open, and she'd suck down water instead of air." At that part I thought she was going to die, but I knew she couldn't because then the series wouldn't continue.
I don't like the part when her crush, Noah Hicks, gets mad at her. She was trying to hide when some bad guys came. She couldn't do anything else or else she would be killed. She just stayed there until they left, making Noah very angry and mad. After he got mad at her, he had a whole new perspective of him. Furthermore, her feelings changed for him. That part, in my opinion, was very sad to me.
My favorite part of the story is when Sydney gets to do a lot of things with weapons. This is what the CIA really is about and it shows you how dangerous it really is. I like how they talk about all the weapons she carries and how she has to wear all these tapes and microphones and guns! That part was very awesome and cool in my opinion. This is a very good book to read.

Summary: For the TV fan
Review: Anyone who enjoys the TV series will definately enjoy the books, yesterday I bought three of them, the first three in the book series, Recruited, A Secret Life, and Disappeared. The books are easy to get through, and quite fun. Yesterday I read Recruited, and today I woke up and read A Secret Life before I got out of bed.

The books are short (I read the 207-page book in about 3 hours, but I'm a slow reader) and the missions are exciting, just like on TV, and it's sort of sad because you already know what's going to happen to the characters and relationships further down the line.

This book is not for a non-Alias fan.

Summary: Keeps the story going
Review: For anyone who loves the TV show, this book is a must. After reading the first prequel, I couldn't wait to start reading the second. The story line and cliffhanger in this book makes me want to start reading the next one tomorrow! It's not the most challenging reading in the world, but who cares? It's good entertainment and it gives you good insight to what happened in Sydney's life before the TV show. I strongly recommend this book.

Summary: Short But Great!
Review: I am a big Alias fan, but I am not a youth, so I wasn't sure I'd like these books. But it turns out they are great reading, although too brief! The first book was very good at establishing everything, but I enjoyed this book even better. Primarily I think, because last year my husband & I traveled to Paris, and the descriptions of Paris in this book brought me right back! The writer accurately conveyed what a first-time visitor to The City of Lights feels, and also captures Sydney's personality at the same time. As I read these books the only strange thing is the "prequel" aspect - meaning that we already know how things turn out for many of these characters. During the first book and a little in this one, I kept thinking about Francie's recent sad demise on the show, and of course also of Noah Hicks' end last season. But for true fans of the show, no matter what your age, these books are a must-read! My only suggestion would be not to make the type so large and instead make the stories LONGER!

Review: I enjoyed this much very much. It made for an easy read but with enough meat on its bones to be interesting. Highly recommended, I give it four stars.

Summary: The Girl from CIA
Review: I love it, I love it, I love it. Not since my Man from UNCLE days as a kid in the 1960s have I enjoyed buying latest print tie-in to my favorite spy show. Back then, I bought up the Ace Paperbacks the day they hit the drugstore bookstands. These days, I feed my Alias fix, especially during the rerun season, with these books. They're obviously written for the teenaged girl (although why that should be so is beyond me--this is an adult show!), but I won't fault the books for that. Not exactly prize-winning thrillers a la John Le Carre or Robert Ludlum, but this is great entertainment nonetheless. If you're an Alias fan, you owe it to yourself to collect these books. If notthing else, like the Ace Paperbacks UNCLE tie-ins of long ago, these will be collectibles when the show is long gone ...

Summary: Alias For Kids???
Review: I really love the Alias T.V show so I thought that I would love the books. I have read the first two and they are very enjoyable and I recommend them to anyone who even remotely likes the show. The books show a side to Sydney that shows a different side to her. I don't know how to explain it but this book really brings it out when she is falling in love with Noah Hicks.

However I would say that most people that watch the show do not usually read children's books. I am sad to say that this is a child's book. It only has 202 pages. If I read it non-stop then I could have read it in two to two and a half-hours. The writers have done a good job of getting all of the books out in a timely fashion, but I think the readers need more. And knowing the Alias franchise they usually will satisfy their fan's needs. Maybe they should go towards a more of a Tom Clancy book. I think that as the show has gotten more graphic so should the books.

Over all I would have to recommend this book because it should give you a fix until next Sunday. However if they did go to a more adult book I think that more fans would purchase the books and, as long as the writers do not change the quality of the writing, then it should get five starts from everyone.

P.S If you could please e-mail me with any tips that would be great I really would like to be helpful on this subject.
