Rating: Summary: Inspirational and FUN Review: This book is perfect for helping all teenage girls to make new friends, strengthen ties with current friends, and generally understand what it takes to be a friend. I think it's an essential part of a library of self-esteem resources. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: A thought-provoking book for preteens and teens Review: This little book does a great job of touching on every type and facet of friendship. I really like all the "cool quotes." The author did a terrific job of gathering together all kinds of quotes that really get you thinking in new ways (e.g., in a friendship, advice is a gift, not a command-and it can be returned unused if it doesn't fit.-Letty Cotton Pogrebin). I also like the "pal projects." I plan on using some of them with my youth group. Megan (13) liked reading the true stories. Bottom Line: Friends will love exploring this book together, and girls will enjoy flipping through the pages alone.
Rating: Summary: Nourishment for a girl's life journey Review: This small book is a celebration of what female friendships are all about. Women's special intimacy is essential to our development beginning as very small girls. Dee encourages girls to share this book and cultivate friendships throughout their lives. This effort will provide the nourishment they need throughout the journey.
Rating: Summary: Girlstart's featured book Review: We loved The Girls' Book of Friendship so much that it's our book feature for August and September. Catherine Dee has put together advice from women and girls to help you understand and cherish the most important people in your life -- your friends. Famous women, including Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and many more offer their opinion and feelings. This fun book is a great present to your best friend! --Julie Shannan, program coordinator [...]
Rating: Summary: Now More Than Ever Girls Need These Tips Review: What I love most is the concrete suggestions, advice and solutions offered from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar, to Maya Angelou and Mother Teresa. This book concentrates on the real problems and solutions we all suffer through during adolescence - how to handle heartbreak, support, affection, disagreements and being different. I highly recommend it while admitting that it was my great honor to have a paragraph included. You see, I consider a book my best friend!
Rating: Summary: A great gift for any girl in your life Review: With all the attention paid to Odd Girl Out and Queen Bees and Wanna Be's, we all want to help our girls have healthful friendships. The Girl's Book of Friendship would make a great gift to inspire them-- for going back to school, for the holidays, for a pick me up.
