Summary: A wonderful, multifaceted piece of literature
Review: I first read this book at 13 and I have to say it is still my favorite. The sheer detail of it is amazing; liz berry makes you feel like you are actually there. A blend of a love story, history, (perhaps made up for the book?) fantasy and spirituality this book is almost impossible to put down. I would recommend it to anyone who likes love stories, though it is so much more than that. This book's true treasure lies deep within its pages.

Summary: One wild mystical ride
Review: The story starts out with a girl, Clare, who's just finished her exams and is told by her mother she's going to be staying at a mansi in a small town. Clare goes along and throws herself in one huge family mystery. Along the way she meets Mark, who is her real first love.

One thing is, this is more for teenagers and up, not for younger children as there are some part that will cause "giggling" and they may not understand some things.

I'm not going to even go near how this book ends, as the ending is so sweet and powerful. But I can say that I absolutely loved this book, and I'm sure others will enjoy is just as much.

Summary: LOVE THIS BOOK
Review: I read this a few years ago and I had lost it up until a few weeks ago. It has touched me even though it has been a while since I read it. It just was such an amazing story and deserves all 5 stars.

Summary: Unique and Magical
Review: Even though I found a few ideas and parts of this book dissapointing and sometimes some parts stretched out longer than needed, I found this a wonderful read, unique and different in a special way. You find yourself submerged in the place called Ravensmere, a valley twisted in magic and legend. You become the main character - Clare. Liz Berry is excellent at using gorgeous imagery that is beyond dreamy and you wish you were there seeing it with your own eyes. And you won't stop reading till you find out what happens at the end. So go discover it for yourself!

Summary: Good start, disappointing end
Review: The book starts off well, with an interesting premise and a believable heroine. I found the second half a bit disappointing, though, because it became predictably preachy and politically correct. The older generations are ruining the world, women have a different way of thinking, women are more in touch with nature, etc. A much better book with a great teenage heroine is "The Perilous Gard" by Catherine Marie Pope.

Summary: The China Garden by Liz
Review: Do you like books that suck you into the plot? That make you feel like you're right there with the characters? Then The China Garden is the book for you. Claire Meredith is a bright young woman, college bound and headstrong. Then her mother takes a position in the country as a care taker for an elderly gentleman. She can't explain it, but Claire feels the need to accompany her mother, even though it's been like a cat fight between the two lately. When they arrive at the old English manor house Claire gets the eerie feeling of coming home. Strange things strat to happen to Claire; people she doesn't know come up to her and start talking like good friends, she has visions, and her mother won't let her go near the main house. All because of a secret that everyone's hiding. A secret people have died because of. And when Claire falls in love with a shadowy motorcyclist, Mark, the plot turns into a tornado, whirling through mystery, love, action, and beautiful images.

The China Garden is one of my favorite books. Liz Berry is an excellent writer who keeps everything hidden until the end. All of the characters undergo a change during the telling of the story, which makes it intriging. The book weaves a wonderful web of the old meeting the new, magic, and finding power within yourself. I recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!
