Rating: Summary: AMAZING!!! Review: I got this book by chance in the library. I have always been interested in witchcraft and thought it would be fun to read a fiction book about it. Well as it turns out this book was on of the best i had ever read. I was hooked from the very beginning to the very end. And all in all the whole book only took me two hours to read. Unfortunatly then i didn't have the other two books and the end left me hanging, so i had to wait a whole TWO months to get the other two, which i found were AMAZING as well. This book is a must read, but if you don't have the other two you will be CRAVING to read them until you do.
Rating: Summary: You have to read the whole trilogy Review: Cassie was well situated and happy in her home in California, until her mother moved her back to her childhood home of New Salem, Massachusetts. There she is intrigued by "The Club", the mysterious in crowd at her school. Before long, she learns these beautiful girls and mysterious guys are actually the new generation of an ancient coven of witches...and she is to be initiated into their exclusive group. Being a witch is a wonderful new experience, but something sinister is stirring in New Salem that threatens the coven...This book simply rocks, as do the 2 books that follow. The characters are very interesting: Diana, the beautiful, pure coven leader; Faye; the dark, sexy opposite(and cousin)of Diana; Adam, Diana's boyfriend who Cassie is inexplicably attracted to; and many others: the fierce Deborah, sensual Suzan, intellectual Melanie, sweet Laurel, wild Henderson twins, cold Nick...THe story is awesome and suspenseful, and the words ring true despite the outlandish plot. A strong reccomendation for most teenage girls who like the idea of the supernatural, or just a good read. WARNING: If you buy this book, you will have to buy The Captive and The Power as well.
Rating: Summary: I was hooked at the beginning! Review: This book pulled me in after the first chapter. I had a summer assignment of reading a book that was long and boring, so I went to the store and bought this one to read after I read that one. Well, I read the first page and about 10 hours later I was done with it. I liked how LJ Smith describes everything that Cassie is going through, that makes me feel like I'm right there next to her through all of her problems and situations. This book has started a great triogy and I can't wait to start the next one. Some advice to everyone: buy all the books at once, the suspence kills you while you are looking for the other books of this triogy.
Rating: Summary: You don't have to like witches or be young to love this! Review: Lisa Jane Smith has turned in a remarkable trilogy with THE SECRET CIRCLE. It all begins here in THE INITIATION. Yes, the book is listed as young adult (mostly because of the age of the characters). Yes, the circle is a coven of witches. And yes, whether you're young or old and regardless of whether or not you like witches, you're going to love this trilogy. Why? Because these books give us characters we can understand and care about. THE INITIATION introduces us to the characters and sets the conflict brewing. Cassie, short for Cassandra (think the prophetess), is the shy girl who discovers that she is a witch. She makes fast enemies with a girl named Faye. And she makes fast friends with a girl named Diana. Both Diana and Faye are part of the secret circle--a clique at the high school who happen to be witches. Diana is the head and she is the good witch. Faye is the wicked witch. Cassie is caught between the two. It doesn't help that Cassie falls in love with Adam, Diana's boyfriend. Add in a murder and you've got a great start to a great trilogy.
Rating: Summary: Starts off another great series by L. J. Smith. Review: The Initiation is the start of another great series by L. J. Smith. It has romance, horror, action, and suspense. Cassie, the main character, is a sixteen-year-old girl who moves with her mother to a small Massachusetts town. A coven of teenage witches initiates Cassie into their circle, but she soon begins to regret joining when a dark force is unleashed. I highly reccomend this book to all fans of L. J. Smith and horror in general.
Rating: Summary: Smith fan Review: This was such a good book! If they had 2 make a movie it shouldbe of this instead of those dumb hacker movies. This book haseverything you could possibly want read. I cant wait 2 read the next 1!
Rating: Summary: Dude! Cool Review: I loved this book. It was so cool! I like Melanie and Faye, cuz I'm kind of a cross between them. Awesome visualizations and storyline. Cool.
Rating: Summary: Awesome, just one or two gripes... Review: I really loved this book (in fact, this whole series), but I don't understand what everyone has against Sean! Cassie could at least give him a chance... I also liked Adam a lot more when Cassie first met him than after he came back to the Circle. He seemed a lot more interesting. Nick is sexier and Sean is more interesting. Still, this was a really awesome book and I think Deborah's gotta be the coolest character.
Rating: Summary: Captivating... Review: This book is wonderful. I've been reading L.J. Smith's stories for a few years, and have read almost all her books. From the Night World to the Vampire Diaries to the Secret Circle. It's a shame she is not that well known. This book is impossible to put down once you have begun reading, you are completely swept into Cassie's life, and you feel like you are there with her. Truly a wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: Remembering back Review: I read this book many years ago and just loved it. The story was compelling with a touch of romance. I loved the main character so much I named my dog after her! The plot was wonderful and I loved the mystic theme. A great first book in an even better series.
