Rating: Summary: I think this is Lurlene McDaniels best book yet! Review: This book is romantic, and yet sad. I cried during this part! Even when they were having their picnic*not goin into detail* I wish all guys were as sweet as Jesse. He didnt care bout how Melinda looked, all he cared about was that he loved this sweet ballerina since 1st grade. My two bestfriends read this book, and both of them started crying too. It's depressing that she gets lukemia. Its romantic and sad:O
Rating: Summary: A GREAT book! Review: This heartbreaking book is about a girl named Melinda, who, in first grade, is best friends with a boy named Jesse. Melinda has always had a dream of becoming a ballerina, but that dream is partly broken when she is diagnosed with leukemia, a type of cancer. Melinda and Jesse fall in love, and Jesse and Melinda's friend Baily keep her going. Melinda also stuggles to fight the desise. I love how this is written in letters, e-mails, doctor's reports, ect. I also like how it doesn't just end when she...oops, you'll just have to read it to find out! I LOVE this romantic and sad book!! It really pulls you in!
Rating: Summary: A book that makes you bawl when you're done Review: This is certainly my favourite book by Lurlene McDaniel. It is the first one I ever read and it emediatly got me hooked. Looking back, however, the books by this auther are all pretty much the same. There is always a girl, identical in every book; pretty, happy, personality-less, perfect, who gets sick and dies and usually falls in love at some point in the process. That was exactly what happened in this book except for this one was superiour to most because of the way it was written-entirely in emails, diary entries, and other similar things.
My friend let me read this book after she did a book report on it. Actually, all the girls in my class read it. One of my friends was bawling her eyes out as she read the last pages. If you want a book written in a different way that will make you cry when you're done-this one is for you.
This book is also a lot better than her others so if you want a sad story but you are fed up with Lurlene McDaniels other works, read it!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Peeping in to someone elses email's and life Review: This is one of Lurlene's best books. It gives a diffrent way of her writing. You get to peep in on their lives by reading it via letters, emails, and then its some talking, like a normal book. But its verry capavating like all of her work. It will make you cry from the very beginning. And you too will want rose after you finish this book....
Rating: Summary: A Rose For Melinda Review: This is the best book ever. From the beginning to the end i just couldnt stop reading. When Melinda and Jesse met in the first grade, they had remained friends for the longest time. But as jesee had to move away because of his parents difficulty, they are seperated. Although they were seperated they stayed in contact for years. Now Melinda and Jesse are 16 years old, and they both have feelings for each other. When Melinda is not dancing she is thinking and dreaming about Jesse. But then Melinda had discovered that she has gotten cancer. Her parents and Jesse are devestated about the news. But Jesse and Melindas love for each other grew more and more by the minuite. Would Melindas life ever be the same? Can Melinda Survive the fight for her life?
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!! Review: This was the first Lurlene McDaniel book I ever read. It is about a girl named Melinda. Melinda has been best friends with a guy named Jesse Rose since Kindergarten. Melinda is also a ballerina. One day in ballet class, Melinda faints. Melinda is diagnosed with leukemia! Besides all of these events going on, Melinda and Jesse's relationship is taken to the next level. They start to become more than friends. Also while this is going on, Melinda's friend Bailey develops a crush on Jesse but of course she doesn't tell Melinda. The book is told through emails between Melinda and Jesse, Melinda and Bailey, Bailey and Jesse. There are also diary entries and mostly narrated pages. This is a very tearful book! Keep a box of tissues nearby!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: When LM wrote Telling Christina Goodbye, I was happy becasue I though she was finally going to write about things other than illnesses (I love almost all of her books, but I just thought it was nice that she was writing about other stuff now), so I was pretty upset when I found out that her new book was about lukemia...AGAIN. Almost all of her books are about lukemia. But I got the book anyway and I'm glad I did. It was interesting reading Melinda's doctors reports and everything. It's told through letters, e-mails, im's, journal interies, phone calls, etc. It was really cute to see Jesse and Melinda's notes from when they were little! But other than the way it was told, it was a lot like her other books about girls who have lukemia. It was good, though, and I do recommend it. I just think LM should write about stuff other than just lukemia all the time.

Meilnda and Jesse fall in love with each other. if you want to know what the end is your going to have to read the book. i really like the book beouse it was the best book i have read all year. it is really sad. when i read this book i put myslef as Melinda and i put my friends in it also becouse it goes along with the book. so it you read the book you will really like it. i promise you that. when Melinda wnet though all the stuff i felt like i was doing the same thing like when she was going to the dance competitions, i felt like i was there dancing to .
Rating: Summary: A Definite Must-Read Review: Whenever I read a Lurlene Mcdaniel book, I both love it and hate it. I am a sucker for romance, and she writes such great love stories that have to end up in death. They make me cry time and time again. This time, she has definitely outdone herself. The romance between Jesse and Melinda was so sweet and innocent, that it would make any teenage girl jealous. I also really liked the format of the book (all in emails, letters, or diary entries). I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good romance and a good cry.
