Rating: Summary: A BOOK TEENAGERS WILL REMEMBER Review: This is an excellent book for teenagers to read. Not only is it fast reading, but it also deals with family problems and trust. Tish Bonner is a 10th grader who is abandoned by her parents and is left to raise her little brother, Matt. Her english teacher, Mrs. Dunphrey, has everyone in her class write a daily journal. The teacher told the students to write "Do not read this" on the entries they didn't want her to read. On her private "Do not read this" pages, Tish takes a lot of risks and talks about her many problems trying to earn money and raise her brother. When Tish asks Mrs. Dunphrey to read her private journals at the end of the school year, it is Tish's way of reaching out for help, which Mrs. Dunphrey gladly gives her. I liked reading this book because Tish never gave up, even when things were awful. It also helps the reader realize that we can't do everything by ourselves and sometimes we need to depend on others to help us out.
Rating: Summary: Don't You Dare Read this Mrs. Dumphry Review: This was a very touching story. I always wanted to keep reading it, because it would always leave me hanging. I really recommend this book for girls who are having a hard time during their teen years; it will make them realize there is always something worse that could be happening to you.
Rating: Summary: A good quick read Review: Though this book is small, it's in no way non-entertaining or childish. It tells an amazing story about a girl named Tish. WHen her English teacher assignes her to write a journal, she has no idea how much will happen to her this year, or how much she'll write down of it. But Mrs. Dumphery won't read anything that says "Don't read" on the top. Unfortunatly what Tish really needs is someone to talk about abusive father, her emotionaly distraught mother, and dead grandmother, and her sensitive seven-year-old brother. If you've enjoyed entertaining books such as HATE YOU, and A DOOR NEAR HERE, you'll love this one.
Rating: Summary: Don't You Dare Read This Mrs. Dunphrey Review: Tish Bonner is an average teenage girl in High School. She has some problems at home because her parents have been divorced. One day,her English teacher,Mrs. Dunphrey asks the class to keep a writing journal. But,Mrs. Dunphrey has promised that she won't read any entries marked "Do not read this". Her life starts to change when her dad comes back to town and her mom goes after him she just won't take no for an answer. Also, her life starts to get even more complicated and she looses her best friends and needs to talk to anyone even if it's a journal that she won't let anyone read. Her life becomes more stressful and her entries become more and more private and dangerous. Is she really risking her life and putting it all on paper,or is she risking more by keeping quite? To find out to what happens to Tish read Don't you dare read this, Mrs.Dunphrey. It's a exciting novel and was given the honor of ALA best book for young aduts.I request this book to anyone who enjoys exciting novels.
Rating: Summary: Haddix is one of the best tenn story writers! Review: We read this in school and it is a compelling gripping drama about a 15 year old, Tish Bonner, who faces everything a 15 year old does and much, much more. Her dad walked out on her family, her grandmother is deceased, her mother sits and stares at the TV all day, they struggle with bills, and the whole time she is keeping a journal for her English class. She thinks it's dumb, but Mrs. Dunphrey said that if you write Don't Read, she will not read the entry. Tish writes "Don't Wrote for Every entry except a few and tells the details about her life. Haddix is a wonderful writer and I think that all teens should really read this book.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book for young adults!! Review: What I liked about this book is the way Tish faced her problems. Also that she would always be with her little brother Matt eyerytime their parents left them alone. It involves a lot of suspense page after page.
Rating: Summary: YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! Review: Whoa! This book was amazingly delightful. I loved the way that it is a diary. It made me feel as if I was going right along with Tish, sharing her suspense, hardships, disapointments, and delights. It's absolutely wonderful. Read it!
