Rating: Summary: A Time for friendships Review: As i was reading along the first few pages of the book it wasnt that great, but than when Jules was in pain and the she was going to over five different doctors it was getting suspenceful. I couldnt put the book down. Throughout this book everything Jules went through i felt like i was right there by her side. Going through everything Sam was dealing with as being Jules one and only. Which is why i rated this book at a 5 star level.
Rating: Summary: My One and Only Review: A Time for Dancing, by Davida Hurwin, is a realistic fiction story about two teenage girls and the struggles they go through. The struggles that not only effect them but their families, friends, dance, school, and their friendships towards one another. Jules and Sam are the two main characters. The girls have been best friends since they can remember, they do everything together including dancing. They base all their decisions on their dance schedules until something horrible happens to Jules which effected everything from the list above. Especially Sam, watching all of Jules' dreams ripped away was very emotional and difficult. Near the end of the book when you find out what is wrong with Jules a good scene happens where it seems like Jules and Sam have never had any problems, they were on again. It goes like this; Sam was talking to Jules telling her it was ok if she couldn't do the dance they had planned to do in their performance. Jules said she was ok even though she didn't look too good. About 20 minutes later they took their places to bow for a dance called "The Children's Game." Sam and Jules looked at each other. Sam smiled hoping to get a reaction out of Jules and she did. Jules winked and smiled back. "For a second, a tiny second, nothing was wrong. We were together, my one and only and me - right where we belonged." One would recommend A Time for Dancing to people who enjoy realistic teen books, maybe even someone who liked sad books. Also someone who likes to read books about people overcoming obstacles. The writing style is for someone around 14 and older, a more mature book. Pick up your own copy and find out for yourself.

Rating: Summary: I laughed, I cried, I gave it five stars! Review: This book was extremley moving. I couldnt put it down.I was in Disney world when I was reading this, and al day I would want to get back to the room so I could read more, to tell you how good it is. I was so surprised by the ending, but then again, I do not like books that have obvious endings. In the about the author, it says Davida Willis Hurwin will be writing a sequel. If anyone knows her, please tell her to do it soon!
Rating: Summary: I Laughed, I Cried Review: I cried during some parts of this book... and I rarely cry while reading. Hurwin's words are so vivid and descriptive. After reading A Time for Dancing, I felt like I knew these girls and that they were my friends too. I felt so deeply affected by what was going on in their lives. It made me realize how awful it would be if I lost my best friend. A Time for Dancing is about two friends and one gets cancer. It talks about all the hardships their friendship goes through and the hardships they go through in life. It was a beautiful story and I recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Friends Forever Review: Davida Wills Hurwin did and EXCELLENT job in writing this book. This book has an extremely emontional and strong theme to it. It is a very sad book but it is good one at that! You should definately go away from this book learning something about friendship and the hardships of them. Julie and Sam are the main characters in this book who go through so many HARDSHIPS in their friendship. They hang out all the time and are considered "best friends". I am reading this book once again and I can't put it down! It is such a great book and I am definately looking forward to the sequal which i supposed to come out early in 2003. This book definately draws you in for an emotional ride which you will never forget!
Rating: Summary: My One and Only Review: "A Time for Dancing" by Davida Wills Hurwin is an exquisite novel. It keeps the readers turning the pages through their tears. The story unfolds when two best friends; Samantha and Juliana, are faced with a triumph that would ultimately test their friendship. At first everything was perfect, Sam and Julie were getting ready for their senior year and looking forward to their dance recitals in the near future. During dance practice, Julie starts experiencing pain in her body. It comes to the point were she could not handle the pain and seeks a doctor. The majority of the doctors she visited could not find anything wrong with her, until she consulted with her thirteenth doctor, Dr. Conner. This was where the struggles began, when Dr. Conner discovered that Julie was diagnosed with "Diffuse Histiocytic Lymphoma," a type of cancer. From a scale 1-10, 10 being the best I would rate this novel a 10. During the novel, I was deeply moved by the girls friendship, it truly exemplified how two girls valued their special bond. "We were connected, best friends for more than half our lives." Said Julie. The author's style sparks with authenticity, touching the hearts of the readers. Through the detailed words and profound images, i felt like I was experiencing the adventure along with Sam and Julie. The two girls portray the true meaning of friendship. If you liked "Princess in Love (Princess Diaries Vol 3)" or "A Walk to Remember." you will definitely enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Best Friends Review: This book made me cry!! A best friend realationship like that is real, true, and loyal. I really liked this book because it made me realize how best friends can have a great friendship and to never gived up on your best friend even if it is someething serious, and to always be there for them no mattter what happens. I have lost a great friend because we have drifted a part. This book made me realize not to give up on our friendship.
Rating: Summary: A Time for Dancing Review: A time for Dancing is a book that I would recommend to all my my friends. It's mostly about friendship and how two friends, Julie and Sam, keep their friendship intact. Through out the book, the author, Davida Wills Hurwin, makes you feel like you're there, listening to them speak. Watching them argue, and cry together. Julie and Sam have been best friends since they can remember. They've told eachother everything. They have had their share of laughs, and tears. But this time, Its more than all of that put together. Julie was diagnosed with cancer. Julie can't get through it alone, and luckily, she has Sam there to help her fight the cancer. It's a typical friendship story, only, with a lot of different twists. I would recommend this to any one, and I actually already have had a few people read the book, and they too liked it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: Only Amazing can describe it Review: This is my absolute favorite book. Its a powerful story about hardships and friendship. I could not put this book down the first time i read it and I still read it over and over again. It made me laugh and it made me cry. Every teenage girl(especially those who dance) should read this. Its completly amazing!
