Rating: Summary: a TiMe FoR dAnCiNg ReViEw... Review: A Time for Dancing by Davinda Wills Hurwin is SUCh a good book. The author writes about two teenage girls, Samantha and Juliana (a.k.a. Sam and Jules). They are the best of friends and they refer to each other as "my One and Only." When Julie is diagnosed with lymphoma (a type of cancer), their friendship is put to the test as they battle Julie's chemotherapy together. They get into fights (not cat fights =D) and don't understand each other. Julie is sick all the time and doesn't go to school, and Sam finds herself a boyfriend and goes to parties she never would have gone without Jules by her side. She even doesn't think about her for hours and only THINKS about calling her...but that changes so thats good =D. I would only recommend this book for teen girls...because of the language and the content. THis book is a WONDERFUL BOOK...BUY IT! This book talks about REAL things..not like all those fiction books like Sweet Valley and BSC.. I was in tears after i finished it..

Rating: Summary: A time for dancing.... Review: This was a very good book. I really liked the ending and how it turned out. It was a really good story of a friendship. It was kind of different, but turned out to be really cool and interesting. This book was sad in places, but a heart felt story. I guess you can never really under-estimate the power of a good friendship. It was sad how they werent as close as before. And it was sad, how the cancer changed the girls and her friends whole life. I never thought that cancer could change you and put you against your friends and family. I hope that I dont get cancer. Overall the book was really good and I recommend it to pretty much everyone. It was a little sad but I think thats what made it such a good book.
Rating: Summary: A Time For Dancing Review: An excellent, excellent book. One of the saddest I have ever read, yet inspiring. I will not go into detail about the storyline of this book, except to say that it describes two freinds who must face the death of one of them. With accurate and complicated feelings, each seems to grow apart from the other, yet must try to share their love for each other before it is too late. What this book really says is that life is too short, and we must live it to the fullest. Don't dream about a tomorrow that may never come; instead live today, for that is all we really have. What I tink Miss Hurwin is trying to accomplich is to convey this message. I imagine that she doesn't want us to dwell on this beautiful book, or on the concept of death. Rather, I believe she would like us all to put this book on the shelf and go live, never forgetting to say 'I love you.' I know I am lecturing you, and not telling you what the book is about! But, please read this book. It is not a boring lecture like me. It is atouching bok that i swear you will love!
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ! Review: When Jules gets cancer life seems to go down hill for Samantha and Jules. This book will make life open up to u in a new way! AWESOME!
Rating: Summary: A Time for Dancing Review: A Time for Dancing is a novel written by Davida Wills Hurwin. The novel received many good reviews and is an ALA Best Book for Young Adults. Samantha and Jules have been best friends forever. Everything they do is with each other and they know each other inside and out. The summer before senior year, Sam and Jules make big plans for their future and spend their summer says with friends at parties, and doing what they love most, dancing. Both girls live for dancing and have grown up together learning it. After senior year they were suppose to be on tour with their company performing all the dances they practiced so log for. Everything seems perfect when something unbelievable happens next. Julie is diagnosed with an un-curable cancer and is losing strength fast. Together, they battle the cancer, chemo, and life itself. Sam tries to help Julie live life to the fullest and Julie refuses all of Sam's offers. Through all their ups and downs, they both realize the depth of everything that is happening and learn how to act alive again. Sam and Julie are being torn apart but they still accomplish their dream, together. I found this novel very emotional and deep. It has a strong meaning and it deals with everyday life. The book is unforgettable and it keeps your attention until the very last page. The author uses good techniques. The book is full of interesting dialog and is written from both Sam's and Julie's point of view. There was a very interesting plot and set of events. The sensory language used by the author made you feel like you were part of the book and there fighting the cancer. The moral was a very important message and it creates an understanding that most people don't know because they don't have this issue in their life.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: I really liked this book.It may take a while for some to get into but by the end of the book it is hard to put down. Throughout the book one can feel the ups and the downs that Sam and Julie's relationship faces along with the emotions that both seem to be experiencing. The book also helps one realize the importance of friends. I would recommend this to anyone that knows what it is like to have a best friend that you would give anything for.
Rating: Summary: The best book Review: I thought the book was great.I was crying 4 the whole ending ,but it is pretty hard to make me cry during a book and i think people who read this book would also like the author Lurlene McDaniel because she writes books like this. The book really makes you see a different perspective that authors dont usually show because they really dont know how sum1 would feel as a 17 year old who has terminal cancer.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: In A Time For Dancing Jules gets cancer. Her best friend Samantha has always been there for her. They are suddenly drifting apart! It was spectacular to read, and a delightful bathtime cry-and-read-athon starter!
Rating: Summary: A marvie book Review: A Time for Dancing is one of the best books I have ever read. Its sweet and meaningful, and really makes you think. It changes points of view from Julie and Sam and its really interesting to enter the life of a cancer victim and her best friend. The book is sad, but I really like it, and I think that if you read it you would really like it, to!
