Summary: coolieo
Review: After the first two books, I don't know why I bought more in the series (although I am a completist). However, I was surprised that this third volume was better than the other two.

This time we are treated to Nesta's viewpoint and it actually does seem to be a different voice than Lucy and Izzie. I even cracked a smile at one point (although no actual laughter).

Nesta has met a new snoggable boy on the train. The hit it off quite well and they begin dating. Unfortunately, he is much richer than Nesta and has a snotty sister and even snottier ex. To make it worse, Nesta's home life is not as it should be as employment trouble forces a tightening of the belts.

Well, Nesta undergoes all of the usual self-doubt that this type of novel is all about, but with some help from her friends, and her family, she manages to get through it.

Although better than the first two books, it is nowhere near as good as the Louise Rennison books. I did notice that with this volume, the series no longer feels like it is trying to imitate the Rennison books.

If you liked the first two, you will love this one. If you were unsure about the first two, then maybe you should give this one a chance.

It's about a young British girl who meets a wonderful boy who lives in a very posh neighbourhood and he thinks she does too.She meets his sister and her friend and right away their is friction between her and the sisters friend.Well the boy thinks she can ride(horses)
because she tells him she can.Everything turns out into a disaster when riding.Read it and find out what happens. This novel is funny and very real.Real in the sense that many young girls tell a special boy things that aren't exactly true.

Summary: Fun!
Review: I love this whole series! This particular book was good though. So these books aren't life-changing or anything, but they're just fun to read. If you want a light read, buy this book. Teenage girls can really relate to Nesta and her friends. You always get the idea that Nesta is perfect, but we find out that she's not. Plus, because it's written by an English author they're really funny. These books have a good lesson in the end as well. Have some fun and read all the books in the Mates, Dates Series!

Review: I`m an amazon customer, from england. I love these books. Here we have 6 in the series and they get better. This book, we see a story from Nesta`s point of view.

She meets a boy, simon on the train and immedaiatly starts to add him in the movie of her life. but, he is from a higher class than Nesta. Also, Cressida, Simon`s ex instantly hates Nesta. How will she deal with her? Will the relationship last?

As the story develops, we see Nesta becoming familiar with the world of horse-rding, designer shops and lots of money!!!. But she soon forgetts the important things to the relationship, and it takes mates Izzie and Lucy to help her sort things out.

This is a great book about class, and money and friends that always help Definatly read the other books coming in the series!!!!

Summary: Good Morals and More
Review: Mates, Dates, and Designer Divas by Cathy Hopkins is a great book that I recommend to all teenage girls to enjoy for a bit of light reading. This book had many good morals and ideas that naturally flowed with the story plot. Free of violence and profanity, this book had such an edge that made you not able to put it down. Be prepared for some instant messaging coding like CUL8TR'S and a bit of European slang.
Set in London, the story begins on a train ride. It's one of those that most of us have experienced in some way on public transportation. Nesta, the protagonist, is like any typical teenage girl who loves to hangout with her friends Izzie and Lucy and of course shop. Nesta meets a boy on this train by falling in his lap. On purpose or not, that's for you to decide. Upon arriving home, Nesta takes off to her friend's house to tell them about her new boy find. Before you know it Nesta and this boy Simon are an item. Simon belongs to a rich family and has friends who are the same way. After meeting Cressida, a designer diva, Nesta struggles to be comfortable with the fact that she comes from a middle class family. Will Nesta be able to face that fact that the spotlight can't be hers all the time? How will she compete with the ultimate designer diva? Read the book, and have a fun-filled time figuring it out!

This book is about three best friend girls. Their names are Nesta, Lucy, and Izzie. Nesta is on a three-hour train ride. However it takes longer than Nesta had planned. She was dreading the ride because there was nothing for her to do. Until she spots a guy that she takes interest in. She goes into the lady¡¯s room and when she comes out her seat is taken by an old grandfather. Nesta feels sorry to ask the grandfather to leave, therefore, she stands for the two-hour drive to the next city. When the train reaches the city, people start to leave. She notices that there is an empty seat across of the boy she had taken interest in. She goes over to the seat and she accidently trips and lands in his arms. She apologizes and she sits down. The boy's name is Simon Peddington Lee. They start talking and they start to like each other. Afterwards, when she finally reaches home, she told Lucy and Izzie all the details. Simon asks Nesta to go horseback riding with him. Nesta quickly replies, ¡°great.¡± When she gets to the stable, she sees Simon. However, he wasn't alone. He came with his sister and his friend. His sister's name was Tanya and the friend was Cressida. Cressida looked like some kind of stink was under her nose. From there on Cressida has been ruining the good feeling that Nesta had felt when she was with Simon. Nesta also overheard Cressida saying that Simon was only in a relationship with Nesta because Simon wanted to be different. He felt different because he was with a Jamaican and half Italian. Nesta really felt sad. She also has been competing with Cressida because Simon and Cressida are from a high-class rich family. It was hard for Nesta to catch up because of her budget in her wallet and the financial problems at home. Later she finds out that a relationship is based on trust and love not money and the things she buys or has.

I liked this book because it showed you the regular teenage problems and how you are able to solve it. For example, how Nesta asks her mother for money and her mother turns her down. Nesta's solution is to go and get a job. Which of course she was unsuccessful. Also these girls have the same problem that most of the girls right now have. Something like, what am I going to wear when I see him or how does my hair look when none of that is important. Sometimes girls have hope that boys will look at them for their accessories, but they find out that they don't.

The quotes that I took interest the most is," Trust me to go and fail for someone who lives on the other side of the planet." This was on the back side of the book. Another quote that I took interest in was," I felt full of hope. Possibilities." This was on page 127.

My favorite part of the story was when Izzie, Lucy, and Nesta are friends again after a quarrel. Then they realize friendship is too hard to lose over a guy or anything else that seems unimportant. My least favorite part was when Cressida said those mean things about Nesta in the ladies room. Also I did not like how Nesta danced in front of everyone and how she made herself the center-of-attention when that day was Izzie's moment. I thought that it was pretty selfish. I understand that she was drunk but she should have taken responsibilities for her actions. Other than that I thought that this was a great book to read for one's pleasure.

Summary: Nesta's Point-Of-View
Review: Nesta is ecstatic when she meets a handsome boy named Simon, on a train ride home on Easter day. Everything is great, except for the fact that Simon is from a rich, upper-class family, which includes a rich, upper-class lifestyle. Nesta always thought that her family was rich, but compared to Simon, she's poor. Now she's pretending that she has the money to keep up with Simon, when in reality, she doesn't. Not to mention that there's Simon's friend, Cressida, whom absolutely hates Nesta, but has the money to keep up with Simon. Now Nesta is faced with the problem of how she will keep looking great so Simon really thinks that she's loaded.

This was a cute, fun read, told from Nesta's point-of-view, but I must admit, it's not nearly as good as the first two, "MATES, DATES, AND INFLATABLE BRAS," and "MATES, DATES, AND COSMIC KISSES." This is a great book for die-hard MATES, DATES... fans, but if you're a first-time reader, check out the first two in the series.
