Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: READ THIS REVIEW!!!(Julie of the Wolves) Review: Uggh! I really disliked this book! After reading the authors' other books, I thought this book would be good also. I was totally wrong! I did learn just a tad bit of information about Arctic life, but I didn't really get into the book at all! I would give it below zero if I could. Being an animal lover,I was really depressed when my two favorite characters (animals) both died! There was also a very inappropriate part in the book that really made me disgusted! DO NOT READ THIS BOOK ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN ANIMAL LOVER! Humpf!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Julie of the Wolves Review: Julie of the Wolves is a very good book. I recommend this book to anybody who likes a good, moralful, sad book. People who like an action filled book might not like it.The story is about a 13 year old girl who takes a journey through the Arctic to find her father, Kapugen. On the way she makes a special bond with a pack of Wolves. The plot is very interesting, so much so that, I couldn't get out of it! If you want to read a great book, check this one out!

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Julie of the Wolves Review: Thirteen-year-old Julie has run away from the life that has been created for her when her father has disappeared. She is made to marry a local boy who is not of average intelligence and try to fit into a modern gussak, or American, lifestyle in Alaska. The problem is, she was raised as a traditional Eskimo. At a particularly trying time for her, she packs up a few belongings and runs away, planning on crossing the tundra herself to get to where she can catch a plane to San Francisco and start a new life. Several days out, she is having trouble finding food, but she is able to study the habits of a pack of wolves and learn how they communicate. She becomes a part of their pack and they look out for her on her journey. When she does finally get to the town, there is a BIG surprise waiting for her - but I won't spoil that for you. Like any of George's books, this book sends a message of how "civilization" has gotten out of town and helps people to vicariously move out into the country and survive off of the land. My only problem is the three sections of the book can be a little incongruous and occasionally there are some very long passages between natural break points making the book that much more difficult for middle grade readers. However, if this it the right book for them due to the topic, they will be deal with the length of the sections. Why 4 stars?: The sections can be long, but it is written on a level that appeals to its target audience. It is somewhat selective, as the naturists, and those who are against the increasing spread of cities and decreasing of natural environments will appreciate it. There is also a strong sense of pride in one's heritage that comes out.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good book Review: This was a good book, not exciting but still good. I could read it over and over again. Good little story line, the wolves are also very cool. Over all a very good book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: What a Wonderful Book! Review: I just loved this book, even though I'm in my fifties! I think that adults will enjoy this book, maybe even more than their children. The illustrations are superb and the story is full of many subtle lessons on life itself. Her story proves that there really is a soul connection with life between animals and man. She has shown (in a wonderful way) how we can learn from nature, by being patient and observing, before acting compulsively. It also shows how Eskimos are able to live off the land even under conditions as severe as the Arctic. As for the wolves, they have always been misunderstood and Jean George has enlightened the reader about their ways and shows that they are not usually mean unless there is a necessity to be that way. All in all, a delightful little book that is quality reading, to be enjoyed by all.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Julie of The Wolves Review: I read this book in my fourth grade liturature group and hated it. It is way too slow paced and detailed. Detail is a great quality in a book but it can go to far. If you are an advanced reader for your age and love rough, humorous realistic fiction this is not for you...there was something about this novel that made me (and my classmates) want to stop reading it. This book may of been the worst I ever read. This book bored me. After reading a section for over 5 minutes I wold get restless, and dont get my wrong ive always had a good attention span.I would give this book 0 stars but at least I understood what was happening in the book. It was extremely easy to follow.Overall it did not keep me entertained and I would not recommend to anyone. Regardlass of your age or intreast level.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: My Review from Julie of the Wolves Review: I liked Julie of the Wolves, but some of it was boring. It was almost like 3 bookes in one. The 1st and 3rd part fit together, and when I finished the second part I relized that was how Miyax (Julie) got lost and started living with the wolves. This would be a very good book for people who really like wolves, because there is a sad part at the end. One of the wolves dies.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great book. Review: I love this book because it taught me more about what I love most and that is wolves. Julie also taught me how to survive in the Artic and in the winter.
