Rating: Summary: Strife Review: In the beginning og the book, this person from Scotland, Eoife, comes to Widows Vale to see is she can get Morgan to get Morgan to put a 'sigil' on her birth father. So she has to get her 1/2 brother to come to Widows Vale first. Soon all these weird thinghs start happening, and everyone thinks thats its Morgan doing them. Morgan knows thats shes not, and begins to think that some dark force is nearby. Since no one else belives her, Eoife, Sky, and even Hunter, & Hunter decide to put a spell on her to keep her from hurting anybody. While she is under the spell, Morgan doesnt have any of her powers. Soon, everyone finds out that it wasnt her doing all the weird stuff, so they take the spell off her.So thats basicall what this book is about. Im not gonna say anything about the ending though. But hears a hint....(it was sad).
Rating: Summary: Sweep 9: Strife Review: In this book Morgan's life is still sorta [not good]. She's scared at the knowledge that Ciaran is still on the loose even with a watch sigil on him. Then things start happening when Morgan is around. Things start flying everytwhere. Morgan feels sure she isn't causing these "accidents". But then who is? Her father? Erin decides that it would be best to rein or restrict Morgan's power for awhile. Sky and Hunter agree. But things continue to happen and then they know it's not her. Meanwhile Morgan's grades are slipping, her parents are getting [upset] and threatening to send her to a Catholic boarding school. At the end of the book Hunter gets information that his parents are in Canada and decides to leave to find them. In this book I so did not like Alisa. She was sorta...dumb. And did anyone notice that she was around when all these "accidents" occured. SHOCK!!!!
Rating: Summary: Can Morgan take everything? Review: Morgan finally believes that all of her troubles concerning Cal, Selene, and Ciaran are over, but she is wrong. Almost everywhere she goes something bad happens. These occurences are always happening to hurt her, or someone near. The council thinks it's Ciaran, but can it really be? Everyone thinks its her fault, after all she is a very powerful, yet unitiated, untrained witch. She knows that it's not her, but will anyone believe her? I really enjoy Cate Tiernan's books. But watch out for this one's ending!
Rating: Summary: What's happening to Morgan? Review: Morgan's life is very similar in Strife as it was in the last book in the series. Her grades are horrible, her powers are strong but she needs to learn control, and her relationship with her parents are weak. In this book these few problems spin out of control. Morgan knows her father, Ciaran, is out there and even though the council is following him she still needs to protect herself. Hunter sets her up with a teacher that will show her out to protect herself and control her magic when strange things start to happen. Things fly everywhere, books, papers, anything at all, around Morgan. Morgan can feel that she's not doing it but who else could it be? Her father? Or someone else. TO complicate things further her parents, who have never really approved of her studying Wicca, find out about her horrible grades at school. They blame the thing that has taken up so much time in her life, Wicca. Morgan knows they are right but she cannot let go of being a witch, it's a part of her. The problem is her parents don't understand that. And if the strange power around her doesn't kill her first, she may be taken away from everything she knows. I found Strife to be an entertaining edition of the series. Like all of the books it was suspenseful, magickal, and a page turner. The problem was their was really no mystery in it. It was a tad bit predictable. But the great storyline nearly makes up for it. If you love the Sweep Series I recommend this book to you. I can't wait till the next one comes out!
Rating: Summary: LAST ONE WAS A LITTLE BETTER!! bUT THIS ONE WAS AWSOME! Review: Ok, here is the review.. Hunter and Sky think its best if Morgan learns how to protect herself from her father, hes on the loose, and he might be hunting her down. So they bring in a woman to help her, her name is Eirn. She meets her at a circle, and during the circle things go balistic. Things start flying and crashing, a new member as well as others start blaming her. So after teaching her some basic protections, Eirn thinks its best if she reins (takes away) her powers for awhile. Hunter agrees, so does sky. Hunter doesn't want anything to happen to her, so her powers will be gone untill she learns more. More things happen, but morgan doesn't have her powers. (While this is all happening, he parents notice her grades going down in school. So they ground her for two weeks and say shes going to a catholic bording school!!!!) Is it her father? Or is it her? Oh! and Hunter is going some where in the end.. BUT WHERE? AND WHY?! read it! ***** I think her other books were better than this one. I want to see more of Hunter and hers relationship blumeing. I would love it if he proposed to her! That would be so sweet! Peace and love! Cant wait till the next one comes out! Kari
Rating: Summary: Strife Review: Strife was a very interesting but frustrating book. Morgan was accused of causing bad things to happen, and I couldn't believe that the people closest to her believed she could be behind this. Like the other novels in the Sweep series, it is a page turner. It seems the author is trying to shift the focus to a "new" character, and I am not sure if I even like this "new" character. I was also trying to figure out if either of the new characters introduced are actually trustworthy. A fantastic read, and I will continue to look forward to the forthcoming novel in the Sweep series
Rating: Summary: Not as Good as the Others Review: The other books are a lot better. This one doesn't have as much action and really exciting parts. Alisa is annoying and Morgan keeps gettin blamed and Morgan gets in trouble for her grades. It gets kinda boring to have Morgan going throu all of this and it just makes the book kinda depressing but the books that come after get better so read this one and get on readin the next ones! *Brenna*
Rating: Summary: Shows Promise but Leaves Much Unanswered Review: There are three main magic threads in this one. The Council decides to give Morgan a crash course in magical defense and send an expert. The Council is looking for Morgan's father. Violent magic seems to be working around Morgan. On a personal level, Morgan needs to deal with failing grades and the loss of trust from her family. By the end of the book, the reader seems to know what is going on, but the characters have not figured it out yet. In fact, the book ends in a way that it seems the characters don't want to find out or never will (future books may tell). But that is one of the things I liked about this one. The reader may know what is going on but we know there must still be surprises in store for the characters. Like the previous books, a lot happens. People leave, relationships form, break, develop. The one real disappointment I had was with Morgan's defense training. It is extremely important but just never gets around to happening. Will we see more in the next book? We'll have to read it and see. Another good book in the series and this one leaves enough open at the end to send you right to the next one.
Rating: Summary: Wow!! Review: This book kept me guessing and guessing. It was great that through most of the book you had to keep reading to see what that meant. Alisa and Morgan are two different girls, but in some ways very alike. This book is just like the other ones, VERY GOOD!
