Rating: Summary: Perfection In a Book Review: David Anderson did an incredible job with this review. Now, I used his 2001 edition, but I checked the differences, and with this edition you get the same good stuff. He covers exactly what you need to know to take the exam and master it. Possibly the best part, however, is how it's presented: it's a concise review, and very easy to read. They don't offer economics at my school, but I was interested anyway, and so I purchased this book. Originally, I just wanted to learn about economics. I found the topic very interesting, and so I decided, after reading the Micro section of this book, to take the AP test. Using only this book for information, no teacher, no textbook, no notes, I got a 5 on the exam. I can litterally say that this book covers EVERYTHING you need and NOTHING you don't, and is very cocise and simple at the same time(perfect). I haven't done much with the Macro section, but I assume its the same way. I will hopefully take that test this year, using this book (the bible of AP economics!).
Rating: Summary: Excellent for review Review: David Anderson's CRACKING THE AP ECONOMICS EXAM is an excellent study guide for both Advanced Placement economics exams. He covers all valid topics at just the right depth -- the material doesn't feel as tedious as that in a textbook, yet effectively covers the necessary information. I'd estimate that reading the entire book very carefully cover-to-cover should take no longer than twelve hours for even a slow reader.I purchased this book with the intention of using it to review for my AP Microeconomics Exam, on which I scored a 5. I only used this book (I didn't go over notes or my textbook) so it is a testament to its thoroughness. Additionally, I chose to take the AP Macroeconomics, which I did not take a class for. I read the Macroeconomics section in this book and was able to score a 4. While I'm not guaranteeing such excellent results for you, I am definitely pleased with my own personal experience with CRACKING THE AP ECONOMICS EXAM. In short, a highly recommended purchase for those planning to take either AP Economics exam.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I don't know if I'm just smart, but I picked up this book. Without preparing for my ap macro economics test, waiting for the last day before the test, and without taking the class, I used this book the last day, the night before the test, 16 hours prior to, and received an exam grade of 4. I ace'd the free response, and I pretty much ace'd the multiple choice except the material on money velocity, due to neglecting it myself thinking it was not important.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: I originally bought this book to prepare myself for the AP economics. I did not took AP exam though, because I ran out of time studying for other AP's. So I ended up taking Econ class in college. Whenever my iffy textbook confuses me I read this book. It has been helping me tremendously! It is a great book with the essential Economics nailed in it.
Rating: Summary: Shien Woen Foo Review: I recently took the May 2001 AP Macro exam and received a 5. This book is great for review and the practice exams included are similair to the exam itself. Unfortunately there are a few flaws: -Diagrams missing (not a big deal, you should be able to figure it out from reading the theory. Just think of it as a simple test) -Constant referals to "read the above section" or "read below" which the editor didn't catch. It should be "read the previous section" or "the previous pages" -A bit too little on the banking system. Read your textbook for a more in-depht discussion. -Only one practice test for each exam. -Some confusion in the Keynesian vs. Monetarist debate. Refer to your textbook. Other than that, I think the book is good for review or even learning if your quick with Econ (I didn't even touch the textbook since I bought this book at the beginning of the school year).
Rating: Summary: New Edition Available Review: I reviewed this and another Amazon AP Econ exam preparation book for use by my International Baccalaureate (IB) Economics students who wish to take the AP Econ exam. IB Economics is very strong on macro, but not so comprehensive on micro. This book seems to be the better of the two that I reviewed, primarily because of its excellent section on test taking and question answering strategies. I'm buying copies for all my students who sign up for the AP exam.
Rating: Summary: What one would expect of Princeton Review Review: Oversimplified once again, and with some serious errors, especially on one question on comparative advantage where they've reversed the numerator and denominator of a fraction. My friends who were unfortunate enough to buy this as their review for AP Econ found themselves completely confused and having wasted so much time on mistakes in the book. The review wasn't particularly comprehensive or in-depth, there were blatant errors (mentioned in other reivews), and the tests again were easy compared to the AP exam...never a good thing for test prep books.

Rating: Summary: Great for CLEP on Microeconomics Review: Scored a 70 or 99th percentile! Studied off and on for a month. Download the CLEP questions from the Collegeboard site and you are ready to go!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Awesome review guide Review: This book salvaged me for AP Micro and Macro. I had a teacher who was teaching AP Econ for the first time, so I knew I needed a review guide. I picked up the Princeton Review, and it helped me get a 4 and a 5 (the 4 was due to labor markets---in my opinion, one of the hardest concepts of AP Micro).
