Rating: Summary: Great book but only called "super" b/c of size... Review: Moiras story i have to say is another way of taking it. Moira, who is morgans daughter, is 15 years old and is a natural teen learning her powers and waiting to be initiated. Throughout the book Moira learns of who her mom really is and what her life was really about. Also Moira learns of things that change her perspecitve entirely. I only had one dissapointment from this book. Morgan was not the same as the other 14 books. She was saddened and not full of love and energy as before and her "out there" life was one of the best parts of the other books. But reading about Moira is a good thing to read about. She is spunky and pretty much like her mom with her love life. "almost". Throughout this book Cate surprises the reader with hidden secrets that are hard to figure out unless you sit with the booka and analyze each page.Pretty much some might make your jaw drop in surprise! In ways the books are the same. High School love, enemys, strong powers, fear, anticipation, death and love in Morgan. I do have to say that i would rather read books 1-14 over and over again and only want to read this one once or twice, but, it is worth reading becuase it completes the package. Like i said in the headline. The book is not Super, great!, but not super as some might see it to be at first.
Rating: Summary: Wish It Had Been Better Review: Ok, I just picked up the first SWEEP book by incident about a week ago. And I got HOOKED! I mean, I actually was sorta stupid and picked the book up just because I loved witchcraft and, well, the character Morgan and I have the same name(yes, stupid reason, but moving on...). But, anyways, I got SO hooked, and ended up reading the whole 14 books within a week! I could really relate to Morgan, and the books were just really realistic and well done, unlike some books that are way to predicatable and make teens out to be moody and "Oh, whoa is me! The Earth is ending! Blahdadiblah"(and a lotta authors have done this, I swear to God). But Morgan, and all the other characters, you just had to love! Anyways, when I picked up this book, I knew it hadn't gotten the best of reviews, but I said "Oh, what the heck. A lot of things get bad reviews, and you should just find your own opinion". Halfway through the book, I knew the reviews were true. I mean, it was written to be in like a week span, but the main character, Moira, found out about 4,000 things about her past! And it seemed like all the characters I had loved had changed into really annoying people! The only one of my favorite charcters that remained true was Sky, and she wasn't really a main part. Morgan was invincible, which really annoyed me, because one of the things that made the other 14 books so great was that she was still human, so still vulnerable. But now NO ONE CAN DEFEAT HER! I mean COME ON! And Moira....Ok, I gotta tell you the truth, I REALLY didn't like her. I mean, she seemed like a sweet kid, but she didn't really seem to have any feelings about anything. If my dad had died just 6 months previously, I would probably not be in a cofffee shop fliritng with boys! She didn't seem to CARE that her father died! But I'm probably just being harsh about that... Anyways, I'm not usually that harsh with books, but this was just really not well done. I agree with the reviewer who said it was better to just, after #14, make up your own ending for Hunter and Morgan, because it had to be better then this one(unless they died or something, then probably not...). All in all, I think Cate is a superb writer, but this was NOT her best book WHATSOEVER.
Rating: Summary: What the...? Review: Ok, to be fair, I haven't finished the book. I read the prologue and the first few chapters, and skipped around for a bit to confirm my suspicions on Moira's real father. Didn't read the end, though, but I hear that M/H shippers will love it...despite the fact that Hunter...he...::sobs:: Please tell me I wasn't the only one who cried at the prologue. I even called my friend, who is also reading the Sweep series, and cried about it over the phone to her.I almost don't want to finish the book. It seems so...different. I miss Widow's Vale (how appropriate), and Kithic, and Practical Magick. I'm not liking the new characters. I don't like the situation. I miss teenage Morgan. I miss the tone of the other books. And you know what? I really wanted to read more about Alisa, too. I would have liked to know what happened with her. I'm sad that the series is over with this. It should have gone in a different direction. Morgan and Hunter should have been together, founded a new council together, battled different evils, had Moira, etc. They should have stayed near Kithic. Maybe we should have found out what happened with the other members of Kithic. This book should have been more like the others. Should I continue reading? Or will I only be disappointed the further in I go? On a positive note, the Sweep series is one of the best and most accurate series about Wicca that I've ever read. I reccommend that everyone read the first 14 books. I'll get back to you on the last one.

Rating: Summary: Great-but not for an ending WE NEED MORE! Review: Okay this book was really really good and I waited a long time for it. We first see morgan about 4yrs after book 14 and she's meeting Hunter in a shop. The a couple things happen and Hunter dies in a ferry accident. So Morgan just about dies herself ntil she marries Colm byrne Hey he's not hunter but he'll do. So they have Moira and its all hunky dorey until Colm dies and then all this weird stuuf starts happening to Morgan and Moira. Then she finds out that Hunter isn't dead after all oh say about 16yrs later. He's been trapped on an island and you'll never guess who sent him there. That all I'm saying you'll just have to read it for yourself. DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS BOOK. I finished mine in one day. Happy reading!!
Rating: Summary: Poor series...sigh. Review: Okay, I hate writing bad reviews, but I was very dissapointed with this book. I even got bored every once in a while and my book sat unread for a bit. I was so dissapointed about Hunter, but the end, I'm sure HunterxMorgan fans will totally love :-D Now, don't get me wrong, if you have read the whole Sweep series, I encourage you to read this. It's basically an epilogue. If you liked the ending before though, maybe you don't even want to read it, which might be a wise decision. As a complete Sweep freak, I must say...this book was awful. :) Heh, sorry Cate.
Rating: Summary: A must for Sweep fans.. Review: Okay, so if you're like me and read the whole Sweep series and loved it, then you probably can't help yourself and you've just got to get the final book. Despite the bad reviews, which almost made me not purchase this book, I got it anyways, and boy am I glad I did.
In this final book the author jumps ahead several years in Morgan's life, kind of disappointing, I had hoped there would be more about her "growing up". But anyways, in the begining something tragic happens which had me even more disappointed, but I had to read on. From there the book got better and better, though this is probably the most heartwrenching, sad, and scary book in the whole series.
I still think it's a must, though not my favorite Sweep book. There are several unexpected twists and turns and for the most part this book keeps you guessing til the end - which turns out to be a pretty happy end.
Rating: Summary: What an incredible disappointment Review: Sorry to sound so pessimistic, but I think this series has gone on far too long. Cate has clearly run out of storylines and she really repeated herself in this book. What happened with Hunter and Morgan was very predictable and unnecessary. Moira was just like Morgan and everything that happened to her was so repeatitive of what happened to Morgan. Morgan was adopted and was close to her foster parents, Moira was close to Colm who she thought was her real Dad. The dark wave scene was just like the one in Eclipse with Alisa (except I much preferred Alisa to Moira) and the fight scene with Iona went on far too long and was annoyingly repeatative. On the whole, I was quite disappointed with this book. I thought it could've been done much much better.
Rating: Summary: Oh dear Review: The goal of this Sweep book is the tie up loose ends and give readers a final chapter in the entire series. Night's Child succeeds in some areas while it fails in others. It's good, but could have been much, much more. The book starts off on a bleak note--dealing with Morgan and Hunter's relationship, and by the end of the prologue, the situation is even bleaker. Fast forward 15 years: Moira, Morgan's daughter, is living her happy, idyllic life in Ireland. But soon Morgan gets some sinister reminders of her painful past while Moira finds out secrets that Morgan has kept from her. Things start to turn for the worse towards the end of the book, and Morgan and Moira have to battle a terrible foe. Some are complaining about Hunter's situation, but I don't think that's the main problem of the book--in my opinion. What has happened in Morgan and Hunter's situation is sad, but life itself is not kind. Personally, I find that what makes the series is ignored in this book. There's no 1st person point of view, no BOS entries, no Widow's Vale, no regular supporting cast, and no old coven. The book is set 15 years in the future and way in Ireland. Robbie, Bree, Mary K., and many others are barely mentioned while other support cast is not mentioned at all! Moira is passable but I find her undeveloped and dull. Her plot line is almost a repeat of Morgan's, and when you get towards the end, Moira's chapters are just an observation of Morgan (why not Morgan, period?). There are some plot holes that bother me, and the "new villains" are pretty flat. The dark wave strikes again, and it bothers me that Moira's observation of the events almost repeated Alisa's in Eclipse. From this review, the book might sound awful, but it's not, truthfully. There are many redeeming qualities, and Cate Tiernan cannot do totally wrong. Anyway, for Sweep fans, you must add this to your collection, but be surprised if you're disappointed. 3 1/2 stars
Rating: Summary: exciting! Review: the most heart wrenching book yet. Morgan is living in Ireland with her daughter, 15-year-old Moira, and strange things,[black smoke, hex pouches, etc, etc], are coming from rival coven Ealtuinn, lead by Lilith Deleany. Moira falls in love with Ian Deleany, Lilith's son. Killian vists Morgan, as does Sky. Hunter had died in the prolouge, and Morgan, Moira and Sky get in involoved in a confrontation with Iona, Morgan's cousin. Iona is actually keeping Hunter, who is really alive, on an island. The book is excellent.
