Rating: Summary: Great, but not for kids. Review: First off, this book is great. Creative, fun, and very cool. It's what you'd expect from Ms. Applegate. But this isn't for the average ANIMORPHS fan, this series is older, it has older subjects and language that most kids shouldn't read. From the mild cuss word to the harsh subjects like a gay camp counselor who rapes kids, this is for an older group. I wouldn't recomend anyone over 15 reading this stuff, but it still is a great book, and it will be a great series.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT!!! Review: K.A. did a wonderful job on Search for Senna. I loved the cover, with the painted gold effect. The characters are very real, and the world itself is amazing. The Vikings are blood thirsty, and so are the Aztecs, but the Aztecs are literally thirsty for blood. The Hetwans are freaky, and very original. I recommend this book to anybody who enjoys fantasy and wants to read a great book!!!
Rating: Summary: Aw, come on, K.A.! Review: Why, why WHY? There's only 30 gazillion books about King Aruthor.I KNOW K.A. has the imagination to make something better! You know, make up her own monsters, diffrent realms (I've been reading fantasy books too much)new kings. It's probably going to be a good book, but (no offense meant) it'll just be a runoff of 'the sword in the stone' or something.
Rating: Summary: totally cool Review: First, the title of the series is EVERWORLD, not Otherworld. Ok, just wanted to clear that up with Amazon.com so that they can change it. Alot of people think that Eerworld will sweep away the Animorphs. I don't think so. (By the way, I love Animorphs, but give me a break OK? I love fantasy, and I'm assuming that Everworld has a lot more fantasy in it.) I might even like Everworld more. I'm starting to think that Animorphs is a little "young" for me. Not that I'll stop reading Animorphs or anything drastic like that. I'll read them 'till they stop getting published. Which we all hope will be way in the future.I hope that Animorphs and Everworld will continue (and start) to take off. And deal with one another. I think that Everworld will not take the spotlight away from Animorphs. That's all I wanted to say. Bye :)
Rating: Summary: Awesome!!! Review: I haven't read this book yet, but it is supposed to be about these kids that have a friend swallowed up by the earth. She is appearently some sort'a link to two universes. One of gods (Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Ect.)And the homo sapien ran universe. That's right, good old earth. Senna is kidnapped by the God Lori and tacken there so he can get out and rule Earth. (I think.)
Rating: Summary: Everworld #1 Review: David's life was preety normal. School. Friends. Girlfriend. Senna was proably the oddest aspect of his life. One day she was sucked up by the earth. And David followed . . . . .
Rating: Summary: Ugly Cover, OKay Book Review: I recently started the Everworld series by K.A. Applegate and am rather pleased with it. My wife has also gotten into the series. Applegate is best known as the creator of the Animorphs series. In this series four not-quite friends find themselves pulled into a strange world called Everworld. In the first volume the four are drawn together just in time to see a fifth, a girl named Senna, get dragged away by an elephant-sized wolf. They get drawn after the wolf and find themselves chained and hanging on a castle wall. The castle belongs to Loki, the Norse god of evil. It was Loki who sent Fenris the wolf to capture Senna. Senna turns out to be some sort of witch. But somewhere along the way Senna was dropped and Loki wants her found. Loki managed to escape from his prison when Everworld was created. This gave him the chance to imprison Odin in revenge. But Loki is also working with some sort of powerful alien. The four manage to escape Loki's castle and run into a gathering of Vikings. They are getting ready to sail off to a great battle. The four are mistaken for minstrels and are taken on the voyage. The Vikings are out to raid the Aztecs. Using Mjolnir they hope to get the head of Huitzilopoctil as a tribute to Loki so that he will release Odin the All Father. Volume one ends as the great battle begins. Everworld is an interesting place. It is of recent creation compared to the creation of our solar system. It is populated by many ancient peoples including Vikings and Aztecs. Powerful beings who claim to be gods also reside here. But where is here? Is it some sort of dimension created by the mysterious aliens? It in not a completely physical place. The characters return home when the fall asleep or lose consciousness in Everworld. But they are not missing in our world. They seem to be existing in two places at once with memories of being in both places. I am looking forward to uncovering more of the mysteries as the series progresses. Volume one is SEARCH FOR SENNA. The narrative switches between characters from book to book. If you are interested in some good adventure that makes you think, but not too hard, then you might want to look for this series.
Rating: Summary: It's okay not great-wait for it in a Bargain Bin/Used book Review: My 12 year old son tried to read Everworld, but the first few pages just didn't draw him in, so my mom read it to us all on a road trip. It was a little hard to get into at first but a quarter of a way into we all cared what happened to the characters and wanted to know what happened next. My biggest problem with the book was the blatant product placement, I wouldn't be supprised if Taco Bell and Doritos had paid Ms. Applegate's literary advance.

Rating: Summary: good, but a little short Review: I grew up reading K.A. Applegate's popular Animorphs series, and I found her to be a delightful storyteller. In the first of her series, Everworld, she continues to enrapture audiences with her work (in this case, me). I enjoyed this book, although I do think it's a little short, for I finished it within an hour. However, this (and most of her works) is meant for ages 12 and up (the younger people), so that is understandable. I won't reiterate the plot again because many people have already done so, but I must say it is nicely done. In Everworld, she creates a descriptive new world filled with powerful gods of of the old. When physically describing the gods and their animal friends, I could close my eyes and imagine their terrible yet awe-inspiring appearances; ie: "that snake the size of a derailed Amtrak." (That's a big snake.) K.A. Applegate's imagination never ceases to amazes me. Worthy of praise is the dialogue in this novel. Very witty. They act like any other high school junior you find in real life. The four characters all have their traits, and they are made evident by mostly dialogue alone. For example, through her actions and what she says, you find the girl, April, is a talented actress and singer. One thing I did not like was the abruptness in the endings of some chapters (more in the beginning of the novel). I like a little more description/words, although short ending lines like "And then she disappeared" entice the reader to find out what happens nexts (the element of suspense). I guess it depends on what kind of style you like. I recommend this book for those who like K.A. Applegate, like light reading, like science fiction, like fantasy, or all of the above.
