Rating: Summary: an oddly engrossing story Review: When I pick up the first Everworld title, I did it because Iwas a fan of Animorphs and K.A. Applegate. With this new series, shecertainly hasn't let me down. Being an older reader (I'm fifteen), I can identify with David, Chris, April, Jalil, and Senna. Their story grabbed me from the moment they were yanked into Everworld and hasn't let go. The descriptions are wonderful, the characters are complex, and the plot is captivating. I have all 3 books and can't wait for "Realm of the Reaper." I can honestly say this is one of the best series for teenagers that I've seen in a long time.
Rating: Summary: Great book. Review: This is a great book, period. Not the most advanced, but the pop culture references make it feel like a freind of some sort.
Rating: Summary: Half-and-half Review: Okay, over all I did not like this book. The descriptions were great, and there were references in it that I liked very much. ;). I think the characters were well-shaped, and acted somewhat like I thought they would act. The plot was good, and most of it was very enjoyable. But this book had more bad points then good for me. I think Ms. Applegate totally overdid it with the David/Senna thing. It repeated the same thing over and over. It eventually got melancholy and a little boring. It just threw the whole book off for me. A message to those who say the kids swore too much. Hello? Where have you been? That is how high-school kids talk today, at least to each other.
Rating: Summary: EVERWORLD? Review: This is an enchanting book filled with Mystery, excitment and a little romance that is why I give EverWorld 1 five stars!!!!!! Kat
Rating: Summary: Great book by KA! Read Animorphs! Review: If you loved Animorphs, you'll love this. It's a mystical-type book, so read it... it was pretty corny at times, so I took a star away. Also, be careful, it has mild language.
Rating: Summary: A little creepy... Review: When I first saw this book,I thought it was going to be one of those really gory books but when I started reading it I thought it was great! A little horror, little mystery. My favorite person in the book is Senna. I don't why I like her, I think it is because she is mysterious. Is you like sci-fi or like mysterys get this book. IT'S GREAT!!
Rating: Summary: A great Book attention grabbing till the very end Review: The second I picked up this book I could not put it down. I have read all the Animorph books and believe me Katherine really lives up to her expectations. At the end of this book you cant sum it up you have to read the next one it picks up where it left up. A great summer read!
Rating: Summary: I am 26 years old this August... Review: and I am not ashamed to say that I read books written for young adult and children. I will read a book based on it's content, not the mass labels attached to it. I fell in love with the Animorph series and when the advertisements came out for Everworld, I was excited, but leery. I have found that while science fiction is easy enough for people to write for children, it is often very hard to get that perfect blend of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Especially if you throw in the fact that it is supposed to have charactors from "our" world! But when I finally found the series (in Young Adult, 2 aisles away from Animorphs!) I found that Ms Applegate had indeed struck on that elusive blend that works. I agree with the previous reviewers in that there is a great deal of swearing, but I find this adds to the feel of the book... makes it real.
Rating: Summary: A little more research please Review: I love K.A. Applegate. I think she's great. That being said, I can't really rave about this book. First and Most important Loki is the Norse god of mischief, not only distruction. He was the trickster, rather like Hermes in Greek Mythology. Now, granted, Loki is not the kind of god I'd want mad at me, but research a little more before you make him into the Christian devil. Loki was chaotic, according to my mom, but chaotic doesn't mean evil. Otherwise it was ok.
Rating: Summary: Get over it, they're not Animorphs, they're BETTER! Review: Some of the people reviewing these books just need to get over it. It's not Animorphs. It's not for 11 year olds. It's about characters who are 16 or whatever. So they use different language. They care about sex. Grow up. If a few weak so-called cuss words bother you go read something else. I mean is every book in the world supposed to be for 11 year olds? I'm too old for Animorphs now and Everworld is perfect for me. This is great writing. These are great charecters. If you little kids don't like it read Harry Potter again.
