Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Too much DETAIL!!!!!! Review: This book was a required summer reading book for my upcoming school year. I admit that it was a moving book and all, but it just dragged on so SLOW!! The author spends too many out of the 280 pages to talk about how depressed Izzy is in huge detail!Still a book that high schoolers should read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best one Review: I have read many of Voights books, but this one I definetly liked best. I'm seventeen now, but when I first read it I was 15.I must say that now I like it even more then the first time I read it. The book is about a 15 year old girl Isabel Lingard who loses a leg in a car accident. It all happens as she is coming home from a party, unfourtunetly her date Marco drank to much and runs his car in to a tree- an elm. Its a hard struggle of a young women who's life suddenly became a wreck. She pretends in front of her family( parents, two older brothers and younger sister), and friends( Lisa, Suzy and Lauren) that every thing is ok as if nothing had happened. Pretty soon she makes friends with a girl Rasamunda, someone she never noticed at shool before. Izzy is very brave and with the help of her new friend goes back to school. She knows everybody is staring at her, at her leg and a half, but there is nothing she can do. This is a wonderful book for everyone. After reading it you start noticing how lucky you are to be healty, have two legs. For Izzy its too late for a normal life even though she's trying hard, but this book can be a lesson for other people. It's a story about how driving drunk can wreak one's life. Be sure to read it. Cynthia Voight thank you very, very much for this special book. I will keep Izzy in my heart for the rest of my life.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A real encouragement Review: I have never read a book so wonderful, and depressing at the same time Cynthia Voight's book really touched my heart. Not all people can write that good. Watch out Harry Potter:). Not all authors can dig down deep enough to find that kind of emotion
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Wounderful Story... Review: After recieving this book from my teacher, for Battle of the Books, I thought "Great, a story about an amputee, big whoop!" boy, was I wrong... Izzy, smart pretty and popular goes through the stress and agony of losing a leg. Although it's such a difficult time for her, she knows how to carry on. I recomend this book to those who enjoy reading spirtitual books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Izzy, Willy Nilly is a Timeless Book Review: I first read Izzy when I was 12 years old and in the 6th grade. I am now 25 with a daughter of my own, and I can't wait for her to read the book. The subject will forever be relevant, and the words the author uses to describe Izzy's adjustment to her new life are eloquent and real. Fantastic book.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: OK... but really boring Review: I had to read this book for summer reading like so many other kids. It wasn't too bad but... most of it was just boring. Half the book your reading about Izzy while she's in the hospital and it just gets so boring. I'm a boy and I think this book was targeted towards girls... but I had to read it for school. The book tried to make you feel sorry for Izzy buy you know what? I wasn't sorry for her. The characters were so dull and boring. I didn't care about them at all.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: What was the point of this book??? Review: I had to read this book for summer reading and found that it was really BAD. Izzy went on a date with a senior who she didn't really like and then went home with him even though he was drunk. She got in an accident and lost her leg. Abandoned by her "friends" she befriended an "odd" girl named Rosamunde who she'd never really liked before. Izzy was too absorbed in being liked and "nice" and I didn't understand why she would't take a ride home with the guy she had a crush on when he offered. I thought that the Izzy in her head that did cartwheels that she was always mentioning made no sense. I found the parts where Izzy was in the hospital really boring, and her parents bugged me. Instead of being happy that she'd made a friend who visited her and kept her happy, her mom was worried that Rosamunde wasn't Izzy's type. The story had no heart... it didn't make me like the characters, it didn't make me happy, it didn't make me sad, it was just boring.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Vivid Story...Izzy is heartbreaking! Review: I was so drawn into this book! It was absolutely incredible how the writer forces you into Izzy's brain. Ms. Voigt has so many creative touches and it really adds to the story. Rosemund (spelling?) is a very lovable character, while Izzy, though lovable, is lost in her own helplessness. It makes you love her even more!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Me, the reader, willy-nilly Review: After I read this book, I felt like my life had become willy-nilly. I was horribly depressed during the entire novel. I kept waiting for some incredible message of hope; I waited until the last page before I got some remnant of joy, and even that was like a few water drops to tease a weary traveler. Izzy was depressed the entire time. Now, I'm not being cynical here. If I lost my legs and it was someone else's fault, I'd probably be a little upset, too. But all she did is moan and complain about how miserable her life is, instead of facing facts and moving on. Then her parents made me absolutely want to scream. If my daughter had to have her legs amputated, I'd be in the hospital 24 hours a day watching over her. But her parents only came to visit when they could. When I looked at them, I could sympathize for a moment with Izzy's sad demeanor. The only character that brought any refreshment to the book was Izzy's newfound friend- Rosamunde. She told Izzy all the things I would have said to her if I could have. She didn't allow her to feel sorry for herself or become overly depressed. Unfortunately, it took Izzy the entire book to figure that out. And when she finally did get it, the ending sounded so ambiguous that it left one wondering if she really got it after all. Izzy proved to be a girl in a desperate search for herself. At the end of her story, we don't know if she found herself or not because we're still looking for her.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: I gave this 3 stars... Review: I gave this book 3 stars because I sort of liked it and then again i sort of didn't. I didn't really like it because it only focused on one thing...her leg! On the other hand though...I liked it because it was really realistic and some parts were funny. All in all... I guess if i had to read this book again I probably would.
