Summary: Terrific
Review: This book was wonderful, I can't wait to read Juniper. I'm an adult, but I occasionally read 'children's' books, just because they seem to be so much more imaginative. This one was great. I think it is just as much an adult book as a children's books. I plan to pass it on to my 12 year old niece to read next. I highly recommend it.

Summary: This is a book I can read over and over again
Review: When I first received this book as a present from my aunt for Christmas, I wasn't aware of how it was going to catch my attention. I couldn't out the book down and I still can't, 4 years later. I think this book is so amazing and I can read it again and again, finding something new each time, remembering certain parts I found to be so different and exciting.

Summary: Great Book
Review: wise Child was a great book. I read it after reading Juniper. I have to say that I liked Juniper better. I am not exactly sure why. wise Child left me wntimg more and I am sure of this intention of MIss.Furlong. I was also surprised to see the reading level was four to 8! If a four year olod could read that he\she would be in the newspapers. Even having it read to them they wouldn't understand it. I think the level is probaly 6-12. I however loved the book, and couldn't put it down. I would realy enjoy another book to make it a triolgy. Perhaps about Euny, about Wise Child's student, or about wise child and her becoming a doran.

Summary: high praise of descriptions, plot-line and detail
Review: Wise Child is a thrilling richly detailed book illustrating, in great beauty, the lives of many persecuted women of the era. This book is captivating and intensly woven display of life in the Scottish village of Wise Child. The characters are nothing like I've ever seen Juniper's gentle strength, capable of great healing powers, Maeve's undying and all-consuming hate, and Wise Child's growing mind capable of unlimited intelligence. The authentic Celtic flavor of every detail put you walking beside Wise Child on her many journeys.

Summary: A story powerful enough to change the way you read books
Review: Something in Monica Furlong's rich imagery and clear love for the characters draws the reader into the story. It re-connects you to the magic that is in daily life. The characters are full and very human, not the stark good and evil that so many authors expect children to buy into. When I read this book in my early teens, I knew I'd found something special. Through much effort and pleading, I somehow managed to convince my younger sister (who doesn't like to touch books that aren't assigned for school) to read it. She read it once, and again, and again, and then she moved on to Furlong's other book, Juniper, which my sister only read twice. Wise Child was a door for her. It not only opened her mind to books, but it gave her a knowlege of some of the beauty and magic that women can possess.

Summary: A story of magic, excitment and adventure.
Review: Wise Child is one of the best books I have ever read. It is the story of a young girl, who lives with Juniper after the death of her Grandmother. Juniper is called a witch by the villagers and at first Wise Child fears her. Juniper soon becomes the mother that Wise Child never had. She soon learns that Juniper does in fact use magic, although her magic is not evil. Juniper heals the sickness in the village. I like this book because it does not show the witches as evil people, rather as some-one who helps others in need. Wise Child shows the courage of someone who knows what they belive in, and will go to any effort to save those who they love.

Summary: Amazingly done, a must have
Review: I love this book. It is really phenomenal. Take a bow, Ms. Furlong! Anyone interested in witchcraft, magick, paganism or a well written story, you gotta read this.

Summary: Still one of my favorites
Review: Ever since I picked this book up in my elementary school library, it has been one of my favorites. I am now in college and I can still appreciate a superbly crafted story such as this one. It contains enough fantasy to make you question the limits of reality but is still a believable story. The magic and sorcery of the book are fun for younger readers and intriguing for the older ones. It's mysticism is beautiful and the tale will remain in your mind for a long time - it has in mine.

Summary: This is a book I'll read many times to come.
Review: I found this book very interesting. I was only 13 when I got it, and I am only 14 now. I've read it at least four times this year. I found the witchcraft of Wise Child's mother frightening, and the powers of Juniper soothing. I will definately read this book again.
