Rating: Summary: A bit of a departure, but still a great read Review: The Arm of the Starfish is a bit of a departure from what I think of as usual L'Engle fare (Wrinkle in Time, Meet the Austins, A Ring of Endless Light, etc.) in that while it deals with characters in much the same way as her other novels, it also becomes a spy thriller. Her character development and coming of age story are excellent, as always, and I love the interaction of the families in her books (except for one rather unpleasant father and daughter in this story). The book holds together well and is an easy and is an engrossing read to the end.
It's also important to read this before reading A Ring of Endless Light because of some important, but in some cases very subtle, references to this story. If you're reading A Ring of Endless Light, make sure to notice what swimming trunks Adam wears. It's important and speaks volumes as to the effect of these events on his life.
Rating: Summary: Can you say Teriffic?! Review: This book absolutely, catches your imagination. As Adam Eddington makes his way to the island Gaea he finds that he is caught inbetween a decision that could change his life forever. Calvin O'Keefe (Dr.O'Keefe) who is introduced and plays a main role in A Wrinkle in Time and the time quartet is grown up and married to Meg. They have seven children and the oldest of all of them, Poly, befriends Adam. Adam has come to Gaea to work as a lab assistent for Dr.O'Keefe during the summer. But when his flight is postponed due to fog he meets Kali Cutter(a most unlikly relationship between the two of them starts) but Kali has her own reasons why Adam shouldn't go to Gaea. Throughout the story Adam finds that he needs to decide between Kali and Poly's sides. He chooses Poly once he finds that Kali's side wants the results of Dr.O'Keefe's tests only to make more money. In the middle of the story Adam has come closer to the O'keefe family and their friends. But by the end tears are brought to your eyes as you read through the sadest moments in the book. If you ask me, read the book and find out what i mean. Until next time.-Windrider3
Rating: Summary: Way to Basic Review: This book followed a plot woth charactors who did the thing you would expect them to do in a book. No charactor was real enough for me to know their charactor, to think of them as people that you could know(exept for people from other L'engle books). Almost hard to believe such a good author wrote the book!
Rating: Summary: A little confusing, but it's still great!!! Review: This book starts out when Adam Eddington is waiting for a plane to go to the island of Gaea to help a marine biologist, Dr. O'Keefe, with research about starfish. A girl named Kali Cutter meets him and warns him that Dr. O'Keefe is dangerous and bad. After finally getting to the island, Adam meets Dr. O'Keefe and he warns him that Kali and her father are the dangerous ones, and that he must take sides wether he wants to or not. I'm not going to tell you anymore because I HATE it when people spoil a book for me. All I'm going to say is- READ THE BOOK ALREADY!
Rating: Summary: Another Amazing Book form Madeleine L'Engle Review: This book The Arm of the Starfish, was another great Madeline L'engle book, just like A Wrinkle in Time. It was filled with mystery, suspense, and lots of excitement! I could not put this book down because I wanted to know what would happen to Adam. I would not recommend this book to anyone too young because at times it could get quite confusing. For me, it was perfect though and I loved it! I would definetly recommend this book!

Rating: Summary: One of the best books I have ever read. Review: This is definetly a book I would recommend to all. I love all of L'Engle's other works, and this just adds to the list. A great example of suspense, drama, love, and all the things you expect to read in a good book.
Rating: Summary: I love the book. Review: This is one of my favorite books. Adam has never really travelled, but now he is going to Portugal, to work with Dr. O'Keeffe in the star fish labs. Dr. O'Keeffe is studying how to regenerate limbs and alot of people want this information. Then, in New York at the airport this girl, Kali, just comes up to him and they happen to be going to the same country. Adam has to decide whether to help give Kali the information she wants or to help Dr. O'Keeffe
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. I'm a fan of all her works, but this one stood out because of it's drama and suspense. It ties in many charecters from her other books, and gives us a book that is enthralling, and stunningly complex. I couldn't put this one down!
Rating: Summary: Good intro to L'engle Review: This was the first book of L'Engle's I ever read. I loved it. I still count it among my favorites. In the years since, I have read and re-read all of her fiction I can get my hands on. I love how the characters are interwoven between stories, timelines and family groupings.
