Summary: I wish I could give this series more than 5 stars.....
Review: It has been a rough few weeks for Morgan. She has a fight with her best friend over a boy. She gets involved with Wicca, much to the dismay of her parents. Then she learns that she is a blood witch (i.e. a witch by birth). This leads her to find out that she is adopted. On the night of her birthday she almost kills another witch while trying to protect her boyfriend Cal. A few days later, Cal tries to kill Morgan by setting a shed he has her locked in on fire. And you thought you had problems''.

After being rescued from the burning building, Morgan is alive, but unsure of whom she can trust. She loved and trusted Cal, but he only wanted to use her for her power. Hunter seems like he wants help, but is it because she is his 'assignment' or because he thinks she might turn to dark forces? Her best friend Bree is tentatively reaching out to her, but Morgan doesn't know if she can forgive Bree's past wrongs. When she thinks that it couldn't get any worse, Hunter accuses a trusted friend of using dark magick, and Morgan no longer knows whom to trust. Can she trust Hunter? Should she trust Bree? More importantly, can she trust herself?

Each book in the Sweep series continues to get better and better. The author does a fantastic job of giving layers to her characters. Just when you think you know a character, Tiernan adds a new dimension to them. The story itself is engrossing, with plenty of plot twist and surprises. This book and the series are highly recommended.

Summary: Good, but Not the Best
Review: Morgan has just escaped-barely- from Cal, Selene, and their dark magick. Cal and Selene are gone, but no one knows where, or when they might come back, and what they may do when they return. Without Cal, Morgan is alone (for awhile). The Awakening describes Morgan's grief over Cal, her inability to deal with her feelings for Hunter, and the shaky rebuilding of her friendship with Bree. The reader will learn much more about Hunter's and Cal's father, and that he is still alive. Also, the subplot of the story revolves around how the store Practical Magick is closing due to money problems. Morgan, already having lost Cal, can't bear to lose her haven too. Soon, Morgan and Hunter discover that dark magick is being practiced? Has Cal and Selene returned? Who is the target of this magick? And is it possible that one of Morgan's dearest friends, as Hunter suspects, is responsible? By the end of the book, one witch will be stipped of her or his powers. Although this book is good, it is a dissappointment compared to the others, mainly because it seems to have drifted away from the main plot. However, Morgan's new romance is very cool. I recommend you read it if you have read the others. And if you have not read the first 4 in the sweep series, it is best to start out at #1. Don't worry- you'll "sweep" through them. You'll eat them up like potato chips. lol. This is a really good series, which I recommend to all.

Summary: Sweep 5: Awakening!
Review: Morgan is devastated over Cal's betrayal. He tried to kill her when she wouldn't join him. She doesn't know who she can trust anymore. She and Bree start to slowly piece their friendship back together and Hunter starts to lead Cirrus. Morgan starts to study with Hunter and becomes increasingly attracted to him. It seems he feels the same from his journal enteries. Meanwhile Practikal Magick has fallen into a great financial debt and may have to close. Also Hunter and Morgan feel that someone is using dark magick and it may be a good friend.

Woo! Morgan and Hunter really set off sparks when they are together. The ending was wonderful. Slightly sad yet giving a bright look into the future for Morgan and Hunter. Another great read.

Summary: The thrilling fifth book in the Sweep series.
Review: Morgan loved Cal with all her heart, and truly believed he was her soul mate. But then came the realization that Cal and his mother were practicing dark magick. And when Morgan confronted Cal, he tried to murder her. Now she is picking up the pieces of her shattered life as she tries to make sense of Cal's horrible betrayal and the fact that from the moment he met her, he was using her. Not only that, but she is experiencing romantic feelings for Cal's half brother Hunter, feelings she can't ignore. Together, Morgan and Hunter discover that someone in Widow's Vale has called on the dark forces. Has Cal returned to torment her further? After the cliffhanger ending of the last book, all Sweep fans will want to read this book. It's just as good as the other four books.

Summary: Series Still Keeps Getting Better
Review: Morgan loved Cal. She thought that he was her soulmate. But Cal tried to give Morgan to the Dark Side, and tried to murder her. Now Morgan's world is crushed into little pieces. And when she finds out that her favorite store, Practical Magick, may go out of business, Morgan is crushed. Now Morgan starts to study with Hunter, Cal's half brother, who helped save her. She starts to have feeling for Hunter, and realizes what she had with Cal was never the real deal. Hunter and Morgan realize that dark forces are being contacting in Widow's Vale, and Hunter says that it might be a friend who's contacting them.

Summary: A pleasure to read
Review: Morgan's pain and betrayal regarding Cal is palpable. You feel the anguish of her first heart break, the confusion she feels when she's with Hunter, and the distress as she continues on her difficult path that she has been destined for. The reader also comes to understand Hunter's feelings through his Book of Shadows entries at the beggining of the chapters, along with his and Cal's father's. This like the previous hints at the future for Morgan, Hunter, their friends and family. It's wonderful.

Summary: OMG!!
Review: People, damn...this book is one of the best that i have read. The month wait for it was totally worth it! I was weeping in happiness at the end. Which, i promise, is very satisfying. Cal, his mother, and the rest of the coven get away. And now Morgan is stuck with her bitterness about Cal, her growing love for Hunter :), and the fact that one of her friends could be working with the dark Powers. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS. If you loved the first four, then you will love the fifth one. Guaranteed.

Summary: Keeps up the good run
Review: So, yesterday as the long awaited (a whole month) book comes out I stayed up till past the witching hour quickly gobbling this story up. I couldn't imagine reading this book by itself but it does keep a good pace as far as it is written in the series. About the story developement... I don't want to spoil anything... Das Boot has a nasty face lift Love is found again and it is beautiful. And someone who was an interesting side character is "hunted"--- Light Love and Laughter...

Summary: Review on Awakening by Cate Tiernan
Review: The book was thrilling and kept you turning the pages;almost impossible to put down! When you read the book it feels like you are there in Widow's Vale with all of the characters. The main character (Morgan) is someone who you can like and relate to. I'd reccomend it for people age ten and up because there is some language that the parents of younger kids would not want their kids reading.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Awesome Book!
Review: This book is a great book to read. Full of mystery, and surprising twists. It is full of information about Wicca, and magick. It makes you want to go out to your nearest practical magick store and buy all they have! a must read in my eyes.
