Summary: I LOVED IT!!!!
Review: I am really into these fairy tale type of things. I picked this up off the shelf off the library expecting it to be like a fairy tale. I was wrong. It is so ful of adventure! I finished it in ONE DAY! No kidding! I could not put it down! I highly recomend it to any one with a good appetite for books!

Summary: her best accomplishment yet
Review: i first read this book when i was younger. then going back and reading it later in my life i realized how good of a book it was. Juniper is Monica Furlongs best accomplishment in my opinion. Then book shows us that we are all different and all have our own different talents and powers in a way. i sugguest that everyone read this book.

Summary: This books is a must-read classic!
Review: I just bought this book and finished it, and I thought it was great! So, mabe I'm a bit "for it" because I love Celtic/Ancient British stuff, but this is a vividly written book for children or adults. It's fun and captivating, and it somewhat follows in the footsteps of _The Mists of Avalon_, though I think it's easier to like the character and easier to get caught in the plot, though it lacks the mystery. I'm only eleven, and I've read tons of fantasy books, and I have to say that this is one of my definite favorites. Juniper is a great main character, and not without her share of faults (to lots of readers' reliefs). This book brings feeling, truth, friendship and adventure to it's peak with only a few words, but it's so well-written that you catch on and realize that in it's own way, it's explaining a lifetime. Read this book anyday and I assure you you'll be glad you did!

Summary: I great Book
Review: I loved this book. It is very inspiring and exciting. The story is about a girl named Ninnoc. Ninnoc is a princess that is used to being pampered and taken care of. One day she has to leave her home and live with her godmother because it is said to be her destiny. She hates it there because she isn't pampered like she would be at her home. Her godmother trains her to be a Doran or a witch. She uses her powers to stop her aunt, and evil doran, from using her powers to corrupt her cousin. Will she succed? You'll have to read to find out.

Summary: zen
Review: I picked up 'Juniper' in my local used bookstore a few years back, in the mood for a simplistic YA fantasy. I had never heard of Furlong, nor had I read 'Wise Child'. I just thought it looked interesting.. and it was!

While in some ways this book is rather formulaic, (girl apprenticed to priestess type, has to save various people or things), in others it is extremely unique. I love the Zen feeling-- half of the time Furlong is not concerned with adventures, but rather simple, engaging illustrations of Juniper's day-to-day life. The feeling is mostly restful and peaceful, with an edge of excitement that shows through now and again. A very good read for people of all ages who are looking for a simplistic, beautifully-drawn, more-to-it-than-meets-the-eye book.

Summary: A wonderful book
Review: I read the book about two years ago and I remember that it was great. It's one of those books that you can't put down. I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes books about adventure, magical powers, and one of a kind characters. I loved Wise Child also, but Juniper was my favorite.

Summary: Best book I've ever read.
Review: I think the only way to describe this book is with this one word ,"terrific". I've never been so into a book before. I recommend this book to anyone who has a good imagination.

Summary: It was Great!!
Review: I would recomend it to any reader. About a Princess who lived in a palace for a while until she went to her godmother to be trained in the ways of a doran (or witch). When she went back to her palace it was under the curse of her evil sorceress aunt. Of course she trys to save it... But you have to read the book for yourself.

Summary: Good for reading to your children
Review: I'm a guy (you know the drill - testosterone has me rooting for the robots in the terminator movies) with 3 young daughters and so story time for me can be it's own kind of hell, overpopulated with too many thoughtful ponies, joyous princesses and other terrors from the Id.

Juniper at least is a story that can engross a child while being satisfying to the adult reader. I never once had the urge to plunge my head through the sheetrock in the bedroom whereas when forced to read stories like the Pony Pals, that's all I can think about. The wise women in Juniper are are a bit too knowing and all seeing, the plot a bit formulaic but other than that, it's a story of growing up, persistence against adversity good and evil, courage and adventure and some things in between. Same holds through the rest of the trilogy: Wise Child and Colman though they're not written in order.

I suspect that these stories catch the mind of young girls more than boys and are aimed more at a female audience. I don't know if I would have read it by myself, but with mission to read to my daughters, it was an enjoyable journey. I could see adult women enjoying this for it's own sake. In any case the books of this trilogy are well above the average children's fare for girls or for boys. Definitely worth the price of admission.
