Summary: I love this book!
Review: "Juniper" is most definately the best book I have ever read. I normally do not like fantasy books, especially if they're way out there, but this book is great! Monica Furlong is so good at describing just about everything; I got a clear picture in my mind of what was going on the whole time. I really really suggest that you read this book, because I know you'll like it!

Summary: Slammin' Piece of Magickal Fiction!
Review: "Juniper" is one of my alltime fav books, "Wise Child" being the other. I recieved Juniper from a high school-aged babysitter, when I was around 8 years of age. I have treasured this book for a long time now, and I am 15 and in high school myself; the girls who gave the book to me, are all grown and have at least 2 kids themselves.

"Juniper" is about a young Cornish princess, by the name of Ninnoc, who wonders about being regulus, after her father dies. She is spoiled, and doesn't realize how good she has it, until she goes to live with her godmother, Euny.

For a year and a day, Ninnoc lives with Euny. She thinks life is miserable, until she stays 2 months with one of Euny's friends. After the 2 of them go back to Euny's hut, Ninnoc is instructed in the ways of the Doran.

I won't ruin the rest, but it is a wonderful story. You don't really relize it's a story about a fledgling Witch, until you read "Wise Child". There are Wiccan refrences in that story, that make you realize what you are reading. Even if I wasn't a Witch, I'd pass this book on to my children someday!

Summary: Highly reccomended. A very entertaining book.
Review: A friend of mine reccomended this book to me. I started it, and was not very absorbed in the story at first. However, as I read more, I found that I cared about the characters and the outcome of the story. I would definitely suggest Juniper to anyone who is interested in fantasy, pagan tradition, or just looking for a good book to read. Hope this review is helpful.

Summary: Juniper- not just a prequel
Review: After reading both books several times, I think Juniper is actually better then Wise Child, the first book written about these characters. Juniper is a more intresting character with a better story line. She begins her story as a Cornish princess who begins to learn the ways of the dorans through her godmother,Euny. I especially liked the parts of the books with Angherhad and Trewyn, with Juniper making her doran's cloak and at last beginning to understand more about magic. Although this is the better book, I would still recommend you read Wise Child first, as it makes it more of a surprise when characters from there come up in Juniper. But this book stands on its own.

Summary: The doran
Review: An incredible, beautifully written, unique and amazing tale. At first the plot seemed like a cliche, but once I started reading it, I changed my mind! From the perspective of Juniper. A young girl is born with the power- the power to see. A magical power. She studies with Euny, her godmother. These days seem like the worst days of her life, yet they open her up to her powers and allow her to see beyond the apparent. She must defeat her evil aunt, a black sorceress, before her father (the king) is killed and her cousin takes the throne. A bit of a violence, but other than that is great for readers young and old. I highly reccomend this!

Summary: wonderful prequel to Wise Child
Review: Did you wonder about Juniper's past after reading Wise Child? This book tells her coming of age as a Doran. Born a princess, Juniper is sent to live with her godmother. Though she first scorns Euny's way of life, she comes to respect it. On her return home Juniper finds that her father's kingdom is in the clutches of an evil soceress, someone who is closer to her family than is healthy. Monica Furlong has again succeeded in spinning a gripping tale. Read this book!

Summary: Great Book For Everyone!
Review: Fans of Furlong's "Wise Child" must read her prequel, "Juniper"! This book offers so much insight into Juniper's character that it would be a shame not to read it. I hope Monica Furlong continues writing her "Wise Child" saga

Summary: Not just for young readers
Review: I absolutely love Juniper and Wise Child. These two books are not just for young readers. Its for anyone who has a good imagination and likes some fantasy. My copies are so worn out and their bindings are broken down from my reading and re-reading them. I know these books almost by heart and they have become close friends. I know that if I ever want to read a good book I could always go back to them. The characters that Monica Furlong has created are so easy to relate to that anyone that reads them can't help but become interested. I have been hoping and waiting for Furlong to come out with another book, and I am so excited to read Colman. Trust me its a book worth reading.
