Rating: Summary: Kidnapped! Review: This is a really intersting book. Dinnie is a girl whose father makes her family move all over the US in search of "opportunities". This time, her aunt and uncle take her by force to another opportunity-all the way across the Atlantic, to Switzerland. At first Dinnie rails against being "kidnapped", but soon makes friends at the international school where her uncle is principal. All the different types of people give a refreshing variety to the book, especially since Dinnie is so mild. Keisuke is one of my favorite characters. I almost wished I could go to an international school. Sadly, Dinnie must go home for the summer, not knowing if she'll ever see her friends again. I wish Mrs. Creech would write a sequel so we could find out. I reccomend "Bloomability" to anyone in need of adventure.
Rating: Summary: Hurrah for Sharon Creech! Review: This book is one of the best I have ever read. A combination of a teenager's life and feelings, and the adventure of living in a foreign country, it makes for a great read. This book describes exactly how I feel sometimes. It also has a great description of going to school in and international school. I presently go to one, and it amazes me how well Sharon Creech has captured the experience. I recommend this book to anyone who is or has been a teenager, or has gone to an international school. It's about a girl named Dinny who is "forced" to go to Switzerland with her Aunt and Uncle. Her uncle is the headmaster of an international school. Dinny goes to this school. She has a complaining, obnoxious friend named Lila, and a boy friend (not boyfriend) named Guthrie that is really close. She also has loads of other friends. Enjoy reading about Dinny and her school! It is a truly excellent book.
Rating: Summary: Bloomablity Review: Sharon Creech did it again with another great book. Bloomability was probably the best book I have ever read. This book totally captured my soul with the way it expressed Dinnie's feelings about life. I also fell in love with Gurthie and his amazing spirit. Bloomability totally uplifted my mood and gave me a whole new outlook towards everything. This book was soooo great and I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to be touched by a book.
Rating: Summary: About Bloomability Review: I think this book is great, and I mean GREAT. It's touching, interesting and exciting. And for me, this book is really romantic in the way they lived. Like Sharon Creech's other book, Walk Two Moons, Bloomability is a bittersweet story. I really like Dinnie, the main character in the book. Well, it's a great book with morals about life.
Rating: Summary: I think this book was incredible! Review: I loved Bloomability. Sharon Creech did a great job on this book. I rate this one right up there with Walk Two Moons. I think Sharon Creech had a lot of good points to make in this book about peoples personalities and how special we all our in our own way. I couldn't put this book down.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Though I am a big fan of Walk Two Moons, and also enjoyed Chasing Redbird, I was not at all impressed with Bloomability. The book just seemed somewhat lacking, in both characterization and plot. I did not find myself caring about the characters, and I kept on waiting for something to happen. The book seems to consist of minor events that are not all that connected, and not all that important. Generally after reading a book I feel like I am able to take something with me, but I did not get anything out of this novel. I would not recommend this book, even if you are a fan of Creech.
Rating: Summary: wonderful! Review: BLOOMABILITY was my first book from Sharon Creech and i have to say i've never read a book with a plot so original and interesting and of course, entertaining. The first few chapters were kind of confusing and uninteresting, but eventually, from the views of Dinnie, i learned to love this book. It's a MUST read!
Rating: Summary: Grrrrrrrrrrrreat! Review: I thought this book reeeeeeeally good! I found myself putting myself in Dinnie's position, feeling how she must've felt. It was suspenseful and fun to read.
Rating: Summary: An extremely good book, I reccomend it very much..... Review: I have read several of Sharon Creech's books, and each one was very good. I was expecting a lot from this one, and I was desperately hoping it would be as good as "Chasing Redbird" and "Walk Two Moons" and... it really was! It was funny, sad, romantic, etc... it keeps you on the edge of your seat, pretty often. This is not because it has fighting or murder or anything, the characters are so real, you want to know what they will do, how they will feel. There are some realtionships, arguments, and more. All in all, this book is a 5-star for sure.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Previous to reading Bloomability, I read Walk Two Moons, Chasing Redbird, and Absolutely Normal Chaos, and loved them all. They were hilarious and also contained clever plots. Bloomability, however, did now meet my expectations, which I based on my conclusive thoughts of Creech's other books. While reading Bloomability, I kept anticipating a climax, but was let down in the end when nothing signifigant had occured in the storyline. If you want to read a book by Sharon Creech, read the other ones first.
