Summary: Bloomability is all around us !!!!!
Review: Bloomability

If you like books with lots of action you should read Bloomability by Sharon Creech. This book is adventurous because the family in it moves alot. It is also funny, and a little sad which makes it realistic.

Kids and adults would like to read this book. But girls between the grades of 4th through 12th would like it the most expecially if they like adventure.

Bloomability is about a girl named Dominica Stanolia Doone but everybody calls her "Dinnie" for short. Dinnie's family starts out in Kentucky Dinnie's dad is a truck driver that's why they move alot. Her family ends up in New Mexico. Then she goes to school in Switzerland and she makes new friends.

The story takes place in present time all over the U.S.A and Switzerland. Read Bloomability today to find out the rest of Dinnie's life and adventure. I would give this book two thumbs up, and five gold stars.

Summary: I love the name Dinnie
Review: So far so good! I really enjoy Bloomability, its not to hard, but not to easy. Sharon Creech describes the scenery so well. I can picture being in a little village of Switzerland. I have a picture of the characters in my head and I feel like I am right there. The story keeps moving and there are no dull parts. It was very interesting how Sharon Creech put in Domenica Santolina Doone's dreams at the end of each chapter. I have also read "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech, too. I love it!!! I also love Dinnie's name!!

It is very interesting to my friends and I because we are around the same age as Dinnie. I can relate to her in that way and I have moved 6 times in my life. I know Dinnie as moved a lot more than that, but 6 is still a big number. I also have been to Switzerland, but it was when I was about 6 months old so I cannot remember it that well. She is also different because she
attends a boarding school and I attend a public one. I still really enjoy this book.

I have learned so much from this book. I learned some Italian words here and there, too. I also learned some life lessons, too. They were lessons that you learn eventually through life.

I recomend this book to anyone who liked Sharon Creech's other stories. It is a good book on life and an average person with not a perfect life.

Summary: My favorite Sharon Creech book so far
Review: I've read Walk Two Moons, Chasing Redbird, and Absolutely Normal Chaos, and I liked Bloomability more than any of those three. I do have to agree that there didn't seem to be much plot, but it kind of added to the 'real-life' quality of the book--in real life there isn't a plot.

The main thing I loved about this book is how you can experience Dinnie's year in the boarding school in Switzerland. I liked all the little things that were included; the 'thinking' homework, the descriptions of teachers, how the students from all different countries acted towards eachother, the short weekend trips Dinnie went on, the letters from aunts, etc. I was in raptures because of the beautiful setting, and I loved all the Italian words that were thrown in.

The character descriptions were really interesting, and I think the characters were one of the strong points of this book. While Dinnie herself didn't seem to have much of a strong personality one way or another, Guthrie and Lila were both very opposite personalities, but still both very strong ones.

I have to disagree with anyone who thinks there wasn't enough romance in this book. These kids are only 13, remember? I thought the little bit was just the right amount. (Besides, it didn't seem like there was a whole lot more romance in Sharon Creech's other books.)

I reccommend this book to girl aroung Dinnie's-and my-age, especially if you have an interest in Switzerland, or have ever wanted to go to a boarding school yourself.

Summary: An absolutely Wonderful Story!
Review: Yes, Sharon Creech has done it again! It's Creech's fourth book for young adults, and all of them have proved to be my favorite books. Bloomability is a fantastic story about a young girl named Dinnie. All four of Creech's books have been stories of young girls. You might think then that all of the books would be very similar. But no, yet again Creech has written a lovable, touching, heartwarming story, but one that is different from any of her other books. How amazing it is to have written books that give the reader the same feelings of joy and sorrow, with each girl's story! Dinnie, 12, is quiet, sweet, and incredibly charming. In this story, Dinnie is going through some very hard times. Her family is always on the road, and her siblings are what you would call, "problem children." Not only that, but Dinnie's parents are lacking money and making it possible for Dinnie to have a good education is tough. One day, though, Dinnie's Aunt and uncle take her away from her home to live with them in Switzerland. There, Dinnie goes to a foreign boarding school. "A great opportunity," is what Dinnie's family says. But, leaving her family and living in a strange land seems scary at first. Before long, though, Dinnie falls in love with the school, its teachers, and the students. She has never had such a wonderful time before! The characters in this book are what make it so enjoyable. There are so many different characters in the story, including some very interesting teachers, students, and mysterious family members. While reading this book you will find a character that you relate to, and will feel like you've known Dinnie all her life. The setting in this book is also perfect, and puts a lot more excitment into the story! I found myself wishing that I went to the Swiss boarding school. This book will make you laugh and cry with happiness. You will learn a lot reading this book; not just about Dinnie and her life, but about your life and oppurtunities in your future. Throughout this book, Dinnie will bloom, and so will you. It's what you call Bloomability!

Summary: International Strangers
Review: A few years studying in an international school myself, I gave this book a try. At first it was completely crazy and I stopped reading, but then at some level I picked it up again and started along the lines of the chapter when she went to Switzerland with her aunt and uncle, the "two complete strangers". Being in a country you don't know of at all and getting to know all kinds of different people IS hard. The story itself was fun, and it really seems like you were completely into the story, falling into the snow, skiing, eavesdropping the conversations, and listening to Lila complain about not respecting the Americans. I read it in a few days and read it again. It feels like you were really in Switzerland with Dinnie--IN Dinnie-- and in the adventure.
Creech has captured the fun and the wildness of what a reader wants, and the life being in a country that you merely went to and feeling a bit foreign at first. In other words, Creech has gotcha there.

Summary: Bloomability
Review: A truly excellent book for those who like books dealing with daily life. When Dinnie, the main character is taken to Switzerland with her aunt and uncle to attend the school her uncle is headmaster of, she sees and appreciates certain aspects of life she'd never noticed before.

Summary: Life is full of opportunities and bloomabilities!
Review: Bloomability is one of the books I would highly recommend to anyone reading. This book encourages people that our lives are full of opportunities. Bloomability brightens me to positively look at things in life. It makes me want to think that anything people consider negative are actually bloomable, depending on how one looks at it, for example, Domenica Santolina Doone (Dinnie) starting her ¡§second life¡¨ in Switzerland. She started out saying that ¡§I was kidnapped by two complete strangers.¡¨ However, the strangers are her Aunt Sandy and her Uncle Max. In Dinnie¡¦s first life, she has moved several times with her family, due to the unstable jobs that her father had. Her parents realize that they weren¡¦t in a good environment for Dinnie to live in and to be able to educate, so they decides to send Dinnie to her Aunt and Uncle in Switzerland, where she attends to a boarding school. Dinnie starts off determining to not adapt to her new environment but she finds herself falling in love with Switzerland. Not only that, she finds out a lot about strong friendships and most importantly, she finds herself. Throughout this book, I have to admit that Sharon Creech does a wonderful job on illustrating the beautiful sceneries in Swiss, and along with Creech¡¦s development on Dinnie¡¦s thoughts and ideas maturing towards the end. I really enjoyed reading Bloomability. Life is just full of surprises!

Summary: Bloomability (A great book!)
Review: I read Bloomability in one day. I loved the book. It was a heartwarming story about a girl who really begins to understand life and what it is really about. I recomend this book to reders who enjoy inspirational stories with a touch of romance.
I also recomend Sharon Creech's book Chasing Redbird which is excellent as well.

Summary: I love Bloomability
Review: Although Sharon Creech has written many famous books, her best is definitely Bloomability. Bloomability is a wonderful book about Domenica Santolina Doone, a teenage girl in a troubled family. Her family is always moving and now, with her dad away, her brother in jail, and her sister pregnant, Dinnie's mother decides it would be best to send her away. Dinnie is sent to Switzerland to live with her aunt and uncle, and expected to attend a boarding school there. As she adapts to her new life, she meets new people who help her through some tough times, who help her discover herself.
This realistic fiction story caught my attention from the beginning. I loved the heartfelt story line, and how the author helps you relate to, and really get to know and love, Domenica Santolina. My favorite part of Bloomability though, was the exciting, unexpected climax-I couldn't put it down. Also, I loved the ending, as you will see(if you read the book) Bloomability ends with a perfect ending(to a perfect story!) Bloomability is my favorite book because of the way it was written-it feels as though you are there with Dinnie making new friends, and seeing the beauty of Switzerland.
I would recommend this book for a reader who likes books that focus on a girl trying to grow up a long way from home. This book is fairly easy to read, a good book for female young adults. Anyone who is a fan of Sharon Creech would love this book, I highly recommend it. Overall, this exciting, heartfelt story is definitely worth reading.
